Plant - I'm sure that system will put some people off even trying to see a doctor - and they're worrying that patients aren't coming forward for treatment or referrals. I don't think that will help at all. How is the bathroom work going? I agree about how much stuff there can be - I gave our main bathroom, which is hardly used, a good spring clean recently and the landing was full of the things I'd moved out of the bathroom!

Gem and Oma - pleased to hear you've had a good day together, and that the weather was kind to you.

Nanto - it's been dry here and very heavy and humid around lunch-time. It's quite cloudy now though.

We've had a busy day gardening again. This time it was the back garden's turn. It's looking much better for having a bit of TLC. OH helping makes such a difference. I've also been doing a few jobs to get ready fro DS1's birthday barbecue on Sunday. The weather forecast is dreadful though! I've moved all my painting stuff back into the summerhouse now the weather's warmed up.

        Good morning all
Not a lot planned for today, Tesco grocery delivery this morning and then a stroll to the chemist to pick up our repeat prescriptions . The excitement of it all, I don't think I can cope with it all!
We had a nice meal with DS at the pub yesterday. It made such a change from cooking. Then I went across the road to the Co-op to get a few bits and I used my newly acquired Co-op card . I have never joined the Co-op before. I am slowly turning into my mother. Back in the day she was an avid Co-op member, saving her Co-op divy for Christmas, not unlike me with my Tesco club card nowadays.

Daisy at the moment I'm not missing our large garden. All we have ia a lawn, gravel beds, a few planters and two hanging baskets which is just as well as I am on light duties for the considerable future and most of the work outside is down to OH .

Plant you have to wonder how anyone who isn't computer 'savvy ' actually manages when they need to see their GP .

        Have a good day and
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

          Raining this morning.

          Not much happening here.
Going to the pub for dinner.
If the weather improves we might be able to sit outside.
The views from the pub are beautiful.
Otherwise we will have to sit inside.

Good morning you early risers and all who follow later.

It's raining here - thank goodness we did the gardening and the washing yesterday. Sainsbury delivery is due in a minute so I'll have to get my skates on, then it's bins day as well. Like Mimi - I don't know if I'll cope with the excitement! It's a day in the kitchen for me today - starting to cook for DS1's birthday bash on Sunday. Plus the dreaded sucky up thing and fluffy yellow thingies are screaming for attention.

Nanto - I hope the weather is better than here so you can sit outside.

Mimi - we've put a lot of work into our garden this last couple of weeks - OH has been great even though he hates gardening. I'm really pleased with how it's looking. I'll take photos when it stops raining!

Good morning, yes Plant, I agree with Mimi, how on earth do you get in touch with the doctor if you haven't a computer?

Daisy, your garden will look lovely for Sunday, I hope it is better weather for you so that you can all get outdoors.

Gem, you have been very lucky with the weather " up north"! My BIL said he may go again for a few days next month. He isn't coping well at all.

Mimi, we do have the Coop here but not in this area. We had 2 in the village when I was young, why the 2 I do not know. Later one closed and the other one is still open but not as a coop.

I have done some shopping, GD2 is sleeping here, I am picking her up from school at 12am and as a surprise we are going to DS2 for lunch, only, she phoned last night and she may have the class tortoises with her for the weekend, that means we will have to come back here first or the poor things will wonder what is happening.

                Good morning dear ladies.
Well the predicted rain is here, we could hear it all night long! The weather has been wonderful all week, so we really should not complain, but couldn't it have stayed good for our last day??!! We may get on to the beach, but we won't be sitting and will be huddled in raincoats

Enjoy your pub lunch Nan2. I hope it clears up for you to enjoy the views.

Mimi, I had to smile at your slowly turning into your mother with your Co Op card. I feel bit like that with my bus pass!

Plant I had look last night and there is a link from our Drs website what you describe. I gave up in the end. Not content with my pinpointing my knee on the diagram, clicking the symptoms, and how long I have had them, how painful out of 10 etc, then I was expected to say more about each thing. I'm not typing all that! I will phone the surgery, if I can get through, when I get home. All I want is a phone appointment, then I can talk to the Dr and be referred to the musculoskeletal department again!

                Have a good day everyone.

I have had messages (Iwas out) from the surgery, they have made an appt. for me to talk to a physio on Tuesday evening. I am going to a funeral this afternoon, an aqua friend. The decorator has nearly finished the bathroom, I have washed all the mirrors and fittings ready for him to put back. Tomorrow I will clean the airing cupboard and put all the stuff back except for some things which had no business being there and some old towels.

Oma, pleased you had an enjoyable meet up with Gemini and S.

Nanto, enjoy your pub lunch, hope you can enjoy the views. No cooking for you today.

Daisy, I am sure your OH will enjoy to see the efforts have been worth it when you have finished tidying the garden. It will look lovely for your family get-together.

Lizzie, enjoy your visitors, I am sure the tortoise will be a well behaved visitor.

Plant, I took the tortoise back to their house first, much larger than I expected it to be, it doesn't belong to the school, it was from the zoo to teach the pupils how to attend all kinds of animals etc! They have snakes as well so I was pleased it was a tortoise!

it is warm are and very humid, we went to DS2 for lunch, we were later than expected, because of the tortoise, they heard sirens, trauma heli etc so were getting worried.

We had a lovely meal.Unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside.
The battered fish was a decent size and just enough chips.
It was nice to see homemade chips with a bit of colour.
Wish i had taken a photo.
Just left them a good review on their Facebook page.

We are having fish and chips tonight Nan2 Good to hear yours were good if the weather wasn't!
We have been to Alnwick for coffee and cake and had a very blowy walk on the cliffs. Hard to believe we were sitting by that same sea yesterday watching several sea swimmers
I will write in my holiday journal over the weekend.

To my surprise OH has carried on with gardening today. He's burnt off weeds growing between the cracks on the patio, and it looks much better. I decided to start cooking today for Sunday. I was going to bake, but couldn't get all the meat in the fridge, so decided I should cook that first - a couple of whole chickens, a small-ish gammon and a big pan of chilli. I then really had to juggle to get the cooked food in the fridge when it had cooled enough. Lots of things - jars, vegetables etc - got banished to boxes in the garage where it's quite cool.

I nearly finished the ironing and cleaned the dining room - much needed after me using it for painting all winter! If the weather's bad on Sunday we can eat in the gazebo, but I needed somewhere to put the food, so I've pushed the dining room table up against the wall and we can use that.

The sun came out eventually here, and I was so engrossed in cooking that I forgot to take photos of the garden! I'll try again tomorrow.

All this talk of fish and chips is making me feel hungry - I can almost smell them.

Lizzie, I'm sorry to hear your BIL is struggling on his own. I hope he can get away for a few days - the change of scene might be good for him. Yes, I think you did well getting the tortoise rather than the snakes. At least if it escapes you've got a good chance of catching it - who knows where an escaped snake might get to.

Gem - what a change in the weather, but it sounds as though you've been reasonably lucky.

Nanto - what a pity it was too cold to sit outside. All fish and chips taste better outside, but good one taste fantastic.

Plant - I'm sorry to hear about one of your Aqua friends. I hope the funeral went as well as it could. It's a hive of activity in your place - I'm sure it will be lovely when it's all finished.

Oma - we've decided on a sort-of barbecue for Sunday. OH will do sausages and burgers on the barbecue and I've made other things, as I've said. Plus jacket potatoes, new potatoes and a variety of salads. I got a melon, a watermelon and strawberries with cream etc for afters, plus of course birthday cake and other goodies.

                                Good morning Nan2 and others.

Certainly not brighter here Nan2! No temptation for a last minute beach trip!
We are having a cuppa, and will leave at 9. We will stop at the pub we ate lunch at last Sunday and have breakfast, then probably head home,
                                I'll catch you all later!
