We didn't get the hail and thunder that was forecast, but we have had rain.

        Oma,footstool looks good.
We use WD40 for loads of jobs. Surprising what you can use it for.

        Daisy,the baking sounds scrummy.

I wasn't in the clinic long this morning. I was advised not to have contact with any pregnant women today and tomorrow.

Oma - that footstool looks very professional, and completes the "look".

WeeGranny - I'm so glad to hear your OH is home, and the wound doesn't need dressing. He must be very tired, and sleeping is good for recovery. You're getting on well with all your sorting out. It's a big job, isn't it. xx

Daisy, are you planning to open a cafe with all that baking. I have never been very successful with flapjack, it is either rock hard or very soft. I hope there was some for the girls.

Gemini, I hope you found your mum well. sorting out a loved ones house is very hard, I hope you manage to find a buyer for the washing machine and fridge freezer.

Nanto, there are so many different varieties of tomato plants you can buy now. Have fun.

Daisy, yes I have got my outfit, it is a very colourful jacket with a red 't' shirt and white trousers. Bowling for me this afternoon, weather permitting. I hope I play a better game this week.

Plumber arrived some time ago, he is tiling today.

Frost has cleared and the sun is shining. I heard we have a heatwave coming.

WeeGranny, sleep wil help with your OH's recovery.

              Plant,your outfit sounds very nice.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

WG good to hear OH is home, and that you have something nice to look forward to!

The footstool looks very nice Oma

Mum was OK thanks Plant, but more than half the visit was about going home and not wanting to stay there. It is usually about a quarter. They had encouraged her to get dressed for my visit and were in fact helping her to dress when I got up there. That may have put her more out of sorts. I told her and them not to bother another time. If Mum is having a day when she doesn't want to be dressed I will see her in her PJs! We had some nice moments, but it's always hard for me.

Tooth still uncomfortable. My antibiotics finish tomorrow. If there is no improvement by Monday I will get in touch. If they can't do this extraction any earlier (29th June is the date) then I will have to bite the bullet and go private.

School pick up this afternoon. DD2 and I always have good chat when she collects the children, they rarely leave here much before 7.30
This morning OH and I are going to Aldi.

                Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. The sun is shining, and I think it might get a bit warmer today.

Plant - your outfit sounds really lovely - good summer colours. I have 'mad moments' when I do a whole load of baking - it's feast or famine for our cake tin! The flapjacks were for the girls - we didn't even have one between us. Enjoy your bowling today.

Gem - glad to hear your mum was ok-ish, but I do feel for you. It's definitely not easy. Another friend who's mum behaves in a very similar way with my friend is absolutely fine when her son visits, but makes her DD feel like a cruel monster keeping her 'locked up'. It will be interesting to see how your mum is with your DD. Fingers crossed for that poorly tooth. End of June is such a long time to wait. Enjoy seeing GD and GS2 this afternoon.

Nanto - bring on the heatwave, please!

It's bins this morning so I'd better get a move on. I'll be back later.

Morning ladies , its cold here and a bit dull .
Been down to Iceland and Home Bargains ,

Got Storm for a few hours from lunch time , DD has a working lunch ,
I then have more Blood tests at 2 .

Gem you must be so fed up with that tooth now , Poor Mum must get confused bless her ,

Daisy my Friends Mother does that with him , she is fine with her DD but when he phones her ( she is in Inverness) He gets it in the neck and she doesn't want to see him ,
Then if he doesn't drive all that way he doesn't care so he cant win .

Gems thanks so much for the tip about the flowers I shall have a look later its difficult to buy for friends when you don't know what they already have so flowers seemed the best option for me,she lives on the far side of Liverpool so driving all that way is difficult with all the Road works in operation at the minute.

Oma I love the colour of your footstool and such a fab shape,I have the same colours for my fleeces over the arms of my sofa's they match the smokey grey cushions really well. I am getting on well with the lounge decorating all paint work done and the main wall stripped off by DGS5 and DS1 took down my voiles for washing so they are ready to go back up when the man comes to fit my new verticle blinds next week all this work has really inspired me and I realise I can do stuff myself if I stop and think about it for a while.

I know we are only in May but this week I have bagged myself a few bargains for little ones C-------s gifts Next had a really good clearance sale and I was lucky enough to get a super padded jacket for my GD3 reduced from £40 to just £12.50 and 2 x sets of jumpers and pants for GGs for £7 a set so I now on a mission filling their box's I know its super early but what bargains specially as I know the mummy's will like them also.

I'm off to the shops with next door neighbour she has decided she wants to decorate her kitchen and we are going to choose the paint colour I offered to take her as tins of paint are really to heavy to carry home by herself.

WeeGranny I make my scouse with best mince either lamb or beef, lots of onions/carrots/parsnips/potato's/oxo's/spoon of garlic if you like it any other spare veg you may have I piled it all into the slow cooker and forgot about it,it went down well with Jim next door I sent him some in with a wee bit of beetroot on top, nice and warming and much better the next day

Bye for now off to shops x
                      Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Oma, I think the whole room looks very tasteful. Wish I had room for a footstool at the end of my bed.

Glamm, never had scouse, it sound a good meal on a cold day especially to fill a family. You found some good bargains at Next.

Gemini, Please don't bite the bullet with that poorly tooth. Hard for you to visit your mum when she would like to go home.

GD2 has had her bridesmaid dress fitting (it needs to be shortened) and is going back to London tomorrow. I always miss her when she goes back, she is so full of life.

WG, I am wondering how your OH is feeling today, he must be so tired and perhaps sore.

Plant we have a funny shaped room , its the full width of the house but narrow with two alcoves ,
One Alcove by one side of bed we have sliding door wardrobes , then the second alcove at the end of the room I have my Dressing table tucked in there with the TV above it

Having said that it works fine for us

Good the dress only needed shortening at least that's a easy job done

Glamm I think slow cookers are ideal way of cooking , bung everything in and you have a lovely meal at the end of the day no fuss and very little washing up , Im sure Jim looks forward to you taking stuff in
Well done on the bargains xx

Glamm - your Scouse sounds delicious. I bet Jim thought it was his lucky day! Well done on the decorating. It sounds as though you're gaining a lot of confidence, and I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Plant - what a pity your GD2 doesn't live nearer. At least both she and you are ready for the BiG Day.

Oma - that's hard for the son. Dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't. Is Storm better? I hope your blood levels were better today. xx

Gem - how's it going for you today? I'm sure you will feel tired by the time the children leave, especially if your tooth has been nagging all day.

Today we ended up moving the living room furniture round. For a change! It involved a lot of trial and error and compromise, but we've taken out the glass TV stand which was driving me mad and used a large coffee table with a shelf underneath for the Sky box etc, and the TV fits better on top than it did on the tv stand. I think we're both moderately happy with the results - it's one of the few things we don't agree on, ever!

Then this afternoon I redid the edge on the lawn and then mowed it as well. Off to cook dinner now.

Glamma, a lady after my own heart grabbing early Christmas bargains!
What a moving day you had Daisy!

Today has been fine. Aldi this morning , and I organised 2 viewing for Mum's bungalow before I went out .
I didn't see Mum this afternoon as I saw her yesterday. I picked the GC up, GD hadn't been herself last week (nasty girl in her class causing all sorts of trouble) I hated to see her sad and worried. She talked to me about it all the drive home though which I was glad she did. Today she was bouncy and happy thank goodness.
DD actually picked the children up an hour early as she is meeting a friend later. We still had our cuppa and chat time though

                                Tea and telly now
