So, not an age thing Oma, the thing is I hardly ever phone them, usually message so why and how I do not know!

Good morning everyone.
The start of another week.
Nan2, the grass is growing quickly now isnt it?
Lizzie I had a bad headache last night! I wondered if I had sat in the sun too long. I had my back to it and wore sunglasses, but could feel it beating on the top of my head. Those 'pocket calls' can be alarming, good of your neighbors or check you are OK!
Oma it was lovely to chat and share a cuppa with friends, I hope you get to see yours next week. Happy shopping!
Be gentle with your face Daisy, I hope it heals soon.
We are garden entertaining again this afternoon. Friends C and P are coming over. This morning OH and I will spend a couple of hours at my mum's house.
Lovely sunny day here again. Have good Monday everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gemini, the sun was very strong yesterday, I have burnt hands, I think the slight breeze stopped me from realising the sun was very strong. Sunny again so I must put some sun screen on. I spent most of the morning gardening. Spoke to my sister in the evening, she is 92 and still lives on her own. I do worry about her but her Dil keeps an eye on her. I have tgo go out an find some tiles for my bathroom, my problem is they are only for inside the shower cubicle and they need to tone in with the rest of the bathroom. I am not very good at carrying colours so I have taken a pic.
Gemini, lovely to spend some time with friends enjoy your visit from your friends. Keep out of the sun, especially on the back of your neck.
Daisy, I hope the place on your face clears up quickly now it is uncovered. I expect you will be in the garden today, perhaps you should wear a hat.
Lizzie, how nice that your neighbours checked up on you, I expect they were worried about you.

Plant, I have learned my lesson, I will be more careful this afternoon! I rarely sit in direct sun for long. I think it was because there were 5 of us and our seats were socially distanced, so I didn't want to be moving around. Today I will nab a parasol for myself
Your sister does really well, like my auntie of the same age. It's good that your DIL can keep an eye on her.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Good Monday morning everyone. It's a beautiful sunny day, but misty first thing. I've been out for a walk with our new neighbour and hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer today.
Nanto - I hope to get the grass cut today as well. How nice to meet your GD's young man. As others have said, he was probably a bit shy meeting you for the first time. I hope your in laws are ok but I'm sure they'll be pleased to see you a day earlier.
Lizzie - I'm glad your headache has gone. How kind of your neighbours to check you were ok. To my utter embarrassment I once accidentally dialled 999. I was juggling car keys, shopping and my phone and handbag, trying to open the boot of my car. I don't know how that happened either, but it was a very old phone and I don't think you could lock it - it was either on or off.
It's interesting to read about painting radiators different colours. Do you use special radiator paint?
Glamm - I meant to ask you about the CBD oil? What kind are you using and how much. It sounds as though it's helping you to sleep better, and you certainly have lots of energy. xx
Oma - steady on, going to the bank and a card shop! I'm sure it will seem strange.
Gem - the sun can be unexpectedly hot, and it's probably the first time since last summer you've been in strong sunlight for any length of time. A nice big floppy hat is called for. Take care.
Plant - I agree about sunscreen. It seems a bit of a faff when it's not actually that hot, but the breeze makes it deceptive. Your sister does so well, but I can understand you worrying about her. It's a pity she's so far away from you. I hope you can find some tiles to go with the existing ones. There's so much choice it's bewildering!

A scary photo for you! It looks much worse than it is! The crater and bruise don't hurt at all, and the other red patches are where I'm using the Efudix cream for bits of sun damage. As I said a few days ago - for once I'm grateful for face masks.

Daisy it looks sore but it will be worth the soreness when it is healed , mine was Just under my eye and looked like that but now its only when I am really sweating hot that it shows as a pink patch ,
As you say thank goodness for masks
I had a spot right on the end of my nose last week no one else seen it thanks to my mask hahaha ,
Gem good idea to use the parasol today you don't want too much sun today and end up with a headache again ,xxx
Plant its do difficult buying tiles the colour is never what you think it is , a good idea taking a photo at least you get a fair idea ,
Your Sister is doing well living on her own but at least you know she is being looked after , shame you don't live near
Daisy we bought Radiator paint but I think you can use gloss and even emulsion , only emulsion wont be easy to clean without coming off .Im not fat just 6ft too small

Daisy, when GD1 was very young, she dialled 999! I talked to the lady on the phone and had to explain what had happened!!! It is easily done.
It is warmer now, I have been for my bike ride for some plants and delicious strawberries!!! I used to call in on my way home with the GD's when I picked them up from school, it was our treat! Last year it all went wrong with the covid rules, it was advertised in the local paper and the queue's were far too long so they had to stop selling to the public. Now it is open almost all day so we can get them.
Gem, watch the sun if you sit in it for any length of time.
Glamm, a lady I 'swim" with, if we ever got to go again, she went on a course to make her own CBD oil.

Lizzie - what yummy looking strawberries. Glad it warmed up enough for your bike ride. When your DD dialled 999 she probably had the excuse of youth on her side. I definitely couldn't use that excuse.
Oma - I can only think getting spots is because of your extreme youth. xx
Plant - did you find your tiles?
I'm just having a quick break before going back out into the garden. I don't seem to be making much progress, but I'll keep going for another hour or so.

No no tiles found yet. I went to three tile shops but I need ceramic tiles and not so much choice. I think I will have to go with a contrast (darker) tile in the shower cubicle. I then went to JL to buy a shower curtain and pole as I will need it in the other bathroom when the plumber starts. I then went mad and called into Waitrose as I was passing to top up the fridge and then went to the car cleaning place so I now have a smart clean and shining car at last.
Daisy, that looks sore, I had stitches in the ones that were taken from the side of my forehead.
Lizzie, those strawberries look delicious, much nicer I am sure than the ones I bought at Waitrose, they are from Spain.
