Oma - how lovely that eventually you've been able to meet up with your best friends. It's been a long time, but they were probably just the tonic you needed for a sad day.

Plant - it's chilly here, too, with that cold wind, but the sun's lovely if you can find a sheltered spot, either for sitting or pottering.

Clover - these anniversaries hit hard, don't they, especially the first ones. How are you? You mentioned going back to help your ladies - is that going ok? Have you done any more painting? I've got one on easel at the moment but seem to have had a couple of busy weeks and not done much.

I spent a couple of hours clearing up this morning - I didn't feel like it last night. I've done a couple of loads of washing. Then my friend M called round for coffee in the garden. The wind whistles down the side of the house where the table is and I had to go and put another layer on. Then I spent a while watering all the pots - everything is very dry. I finally uncovered the last tender plant - a gunnera - and tidied out the dead leaves then gave it a good drink. I might sow some more seeds this afternoon. I don't feel like doing anything too strenuous. OH has to go an post a parcel in a bit so we might take Eva to the paddock while we're over that way, but I think she's tired after the last two days and it's very windy. We'll see.

I hope everyone's having a peaceful Sunday. xx

Oma, it would be lovely to meet your dearest friends again after so long, and I'm glad it made today easier.

We got a lot more done at Mums. SIL was a good help carrying things downstairs and doing a tip run with OH.
We came back and had lunch, and I coloured my hair (long overdue) Off to our friends garden soon.

Meeting up after such a long time Oma must have been enjoyable for you all.

GS2 has arrived for the funeral tomorrow, I haven't been told if I am going or not, presumably not as I think they were up to numbers. I had to call him and Sil as my ironing board collapsed when I got it out. It was like dealing with an octopus. It is really too heavy for me now, must have a look for a lighter one. I have felt tired today after the gardening I did yesterday so I have been in the sunroom with my audible book most of the time.

Plant It's so difficult with numbers at funerals, isn't it. And very sad, too. I hope everything goes as well as possible tomorrow, and if you don't go I'm sure you will be with them in your thoughts.

You probably needed an easy day today - you've been quite busy lately.

Gem - well done - it feels as though you're making good progress at your mum's now. Have you got much more to do? Did you have a lovely time at your friends?

I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped this afternoon. I potted on some tomato seedlings, but have had to put them back in the propagator as it's so cold at night. I didn't feel like doing anything else, and went for a nana nap instead! Then I got the washing in and did the ironing! I've left the ironing board up as there will be a couple more loads tomorrow. I'm ready for an early night! Sleep well, everyone. xx

Beautiful sunny morning. Frost has cleared, but still a bit nippy.

First job for me is getting all the furniture out of the conservatory and giving it all a good clean.
Hubby put a new electric socket in to for the lamp on the patio and made of a bit of dust.

Homemade steak, onion and mushroom pie with mash and veg for dinner.

Good morning Nanto and all who come later. It's a lovely sunny morning here as well, and I'm just going to take Eva for a walk. Back later - or perhaps I'll pop round to Nantos - dinner sounds wonderful.

Good morning ladies. I hope everyone is well.

Daisy yes it was lovely to sit in the sun with our friends. I had Earl Grey tea, a biscuit and prosecco
I think our conservatory could probably do with a bit of a dust Nan2.
Have a lovely anniversary meal Oma.

Today we are taking my mum out!!
It is not allowed to take anyone out of care homes yet, even for a short walk around the village. However appointments are a different matter it seems. Mum has a hospital appointment for an infusion to strengthen her bones. They told us about this when she was in hospital with her broken hip last September. A short procedure, but it means a drive to York and back for her. OH and I will pick her up and take her and a wheelchair, in OH's car. We both need a lateral flow test before we can take her. I will deliver mum to reception when we arrive, they will take her off for her treatment then I will collect her. I have told mum we will bring tea and cakes to have in the car. It's all bit difficult as she has no memory of having broken her hip at all, and I told her where we were going and why 3 times on my last visit, so I know I will have to constantly remind her on the drive there. Then she will probably not know where we are going back to afterwards. Short term memory loss is hard for all concerned. Anyway, wish us luck, and I hope in some way it can be enjoyable for mum. OH and she haven't seen each other for over a year now.

This morning I have a reflexology treatment and tonight is the quiz.

                    Happy Monday everyone.

                      Morning ladies.

Gem I hope your Mum’s outing goes well. I hope she enjoys the ride out and seeing S.

Today DS 1 is here as it is his birthday. His partner and her Mum are coming over later bringing a buffet lunch with them to have in the garden. He has been on a diet and has lost 2.5 stones so he’s having a day off today food wise! His partner has also lost weight .It’s a big incentive to lose weight together. They’ve done so well .

Have a good day one and all.

Gemini, I hope your mum gets some enjoyment out of her trip to the hospital, nice little trip for her. Enjoy your reflexology and good luck with the quiz.

Nanto, my sunroom could do with chasing all the spiders out, I am just starting to use it. That pie sounds tasty.

Happy Anniversary to you both Oma, enjoy your meal later.

I hope it is a bit warmer today and that the wind has dropped, it was very chilly yesterday.

I must do some cleaning today, bed change first.

Lovely news to tell you all, my GS3 has been offered a job, so pleased for him after all his disappointments. It is with the company my eldest GS works for, they wanted to offer him a job but it fell through at the last minute. I am so pleased for him.

Good Morning ladies, the sun is shining but the wind is biting here on the coast,so I must wrap up when I go to get my eyes tested later I only had them tested in December but my readers are giving me trouble everything looks blurred for some reason it wouldn't be the first time they have got the prescription wrong.

Oma its so good to meet up with special friends and how uplifting it was to be able laugh about your brother it certainly makes you feel better I have my Johns birthday next Sunday his 2nd away from home we shall raise a glass in his honour he would have been 77 on that day, I am trying to fix up a meeting with my friend in Liverpool we worked together over 30+ yrs ago and always kept in touch even after she moved away to work in London at Browns Hotel she moved back here and we caught up once with my DD then we had all the lockdowns.

The next episode of the decorating saga is to steam off the wallpaper in the lounge and kitchen then I am all done I've had the week-end off and spent time on the plants and baskets in the garden .I must get my GS here to reset my settings on my laptop so I can post some of the finished work its funny that pics will load up on FB with no problem I don't understand all the IT stuff

Off for a shower before going for eye test and a wee bit of shopping.

                              Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Gem - it may seem very strange for your mum going out to the hospital, but on the other hand the last year may just slip from her mind and she will take it as 'normal'. I do hope she enjoys the picnic you've organised for her. It seems a bit overly-cautious that the care home won't allow the residents to go out for say a little walk round with their appointed visitor(s). Especially now the weather is improving.

Clover - your GS and his partner have done very well losing weight together. Enjoy your day with them. xx

Plant - many congratulations to your GS3 on his new job. In my opinion, they'd have been crazy to let him go, and I'm so pleased it's finally worked out for him. xx

Glamm - Oooh, I can feel that cold wind!! It always seemed to be windy when we lived there! A lot of people seem to be having trouble with glasses prescriptions at the moment. I certainly felt it was much more difficult wearing a mask. Why that should be, I don't know, but it did. Mine were fine, but OH had to have one lens in his changed. I hope on John's birthday you will be able to think about all the happy times you spent together, although I know there will be sadness too. He would be so proud of all you've done. I hope you can meet up with your friend. I bet she has some interesting stories to tell about guests at Browns Hotel. xxx
