Gem - I do hope your cat is ok. I know cats often disappear for days, but I know from all the 'missing cat' posts on our local community groups that their owners worry about them. I hope he turns up tonight, demanding fresh food and a cuddle. I hope you're ok after all the walking round in the heat. xx

Nanto - I'm glad you had a nice day out. Perhaps people think the high hedges gives them a bit of security as well as privacy.

My "no plans" turned into a busy day! I tried to put some towels in the dryer to fluff them up after drying outside, but the dryer has broken. We think it's just the belt so OH has ordered a new one. I hope that sorts it out, because it's very old and isn't worth getting someone out to mend it. Somehow that took up a chunk of the morning. I made lunch - trying to work out why the fridge is nearly empty! This afternoon I portioned up dog food, did a pile of ironing which was much bigger than I thought it was. I watched Escape to the Country - it was an old episode, which I'd missed the first time round. It was OH's cousin and her husband, so I wanted to see it. I pottered in the garden for a bit and watered the pots when it cooled down a little. Eva then wanted a hosepipe Experience, which she loves.

A Cooper day tomorrow, so I hope it's not too hot for the dogs to be running round.

Good morning Nanto and all who follow later, including today's Birthday Girl, Gem.

Nanto - hopefully it will brighten up a bit and your towels will dry quickly! Coffee and walnut cake sounds scrummy - my Mum often used to make it and it was delicious.

An interesting day for me today. We've got Cooper for the day because the men won't be working on next door's drive, but OH and J, our neighbour have decided to replace the barge boards on our dividing fence - some of them are bulging out. I'm sure Eva, their dog, Missy, and Cooper will find it very interesting!!

Gem - I do hope your Mr H has returned home and is tucking into his breakfast. I hope S has a good golf day. Is she playing or organising?

Plant - I hope you're feeling less tired after your busy few days.

Oma - did Josh's team win?

How is everybody - I've been wondering about a few ladies we haven't heard from in a while, and hoping you are all ok. xx

          Good morning ladies.
          My favourite cake Nan2!
Have a nice doggy day Daisy. OH is playing. An away match at Pannal (near Harrogate)

Still no sign of Henry. We are truly puzzled.
It is putting a bit of subduing mood on my birthday as you can imagine.
I will enjoy my day though. I am going to lunch at my favourite cafe in the village with my friend M, and this evening OH and my 3DDs and I are eating out. The girls and I cannot remember the last time we were able to eat out together.

          Have a good Thursday everyone.

Oh Gemini, that is worrying, I hope H turns up soon.

Daisy, have a lovely doggy day. I hope the dryer can be mended, mine is very old too.

I will pass on the cake Nan2, I can’t eat walnuts, they make my tongue tingle, I think I might be allergic to them.

Plant how you feeling today ? any less tired .

We off to Hexham for a drive out look around the market place its a lovely old town ,

Yesterday Jasper DD's cat that goes walk about came home after being missing for over a year ,
Came in had something to eat looked around the house , jumped up on the sofa a slept for hour , had a cuddle from DD then left ,

Daisy the surfina's that I replanted have taken well I am really pleased I have not done too much in the garden due to the sciatica problem I am trying to get a telephone appointment with Dr but they are all booked up until next Tuesday at the earliest just got to keep trying from 8am to get a slot to speak to him.

It is very dull here today maybe after the partial eclipse due at 10.30ish it will get brighter it will be more noticeable according to radio further up North .

Gems has Henry arrived home yet they are such worry,my Oliver has been inviting himself into Jim's next door when he goes out through the cat flap he jumps on his wheelie bin and gets in through his bathroom window he is so naughty.

I have finally made the appointment to have my hair restyled next Monday I'm going to have a chin length graduated bob so will be loosing the long locks after all these years its taken a lot of thinking about but a new style is long overdue I think.

I'm off to visit my friend who lived next to me before I moved here she has Parkinsons and is wary of walking over to see me she has to manage down a big flight of stairs and I worry about her loosing her balance so am making some sandwiches for our lunch and enjoy a good old natter.

                  Take care everyone Glamma x

Oma - Jasper must have lots of loving homes and I bet all his slaves think they're The One True One! Your DD could do with one of those tiny Apple Tags that send maps of his whereabouts to your phone, but I expect he's a cat who won't wear a collar. Good to know he's fit and well. Enjoy your outing to Hexham. Have you got a shopping list?

Gem - I do hope H shows up today - it's bound to put a bit of a shadow on your day, but I'm glad you're out for lunch. I bet you're really looking forward to going out tonight with OH and your three DDs. That must feel so special after over a year of lockdowns. I hope S has a successful day as well. It's drizzling with rain here and much cooler - I hope it's cool and dry for her.

Plant - I think when something makes your tongue tingle it is a true allergy, so walnuts are definitely best avoided. I'm not keen on them on their own, but walnut and coffee cake is another matter completely! How are you today? I hope you're feeling less tired. Did you see your two older GGCs yesterday when your DD had them? I bet they're both getting quite big now.

I might have a potter with the dogs day today. OH is supposed to be doing fence repairs with our neighbour but it's drizzling with rain. It shouldn't stop them, but they might think it's a good reason to put it off till another day!

No drizzle here as yet. I have just dusted SR and bedroom, now I am exhausted and having a sit down Playing bowls this afternoon I hope. I have an appt. with my opticians later to pick up new glasses. Coffee time now. I am now going to Cornwall with the family on the 10th July. DD and Sil are taking their family to Cornwall, DS and Dil are away the same week and youngest two GS’s are away and GD1, partner and hopefully husband by then, are away on their honeymoon. . They don’t want me here on my own with no family around. Fortunately they had booked an enormous house.

We had a nice morning in Hexham ,
The weather is lovely , I made sure we had factor 50 on when we went out ,
Bought some nice Bread from the Artisan Bakery and a few other bits ,

Then popped into a little cafe and had a lovely lunch , I had A Chicken Coronation sandwich , home made coronation and home made bread ,
B had a Spinach Tomato and mozzarella Quiche all home made , they were lovely so fresh with coleslaw , made a nice change .

Called into a farm shop we almost missed on the road home and bought Cumberland ring sausages for B he loves them but hard to get hold of here
We were going to pop into the pick your own strawberry farm but a sign said they not ready to pick yet ,

Having 5 minutes then going to Aldi its been a nice day ,

Daisy no Jasper wouldn't wear a collar, DD has tried several with little barrels on and a note inside telling people where he belongs but he takes them off ,
She put one on once and he went out sat in the garden took it off and left it on the grass , she gave up on that idea but he is chipped

Gem, hope Henry is back with you soon.

                          Washing has dried lovely.

Sampling the coffee and walnut cake soon. Forgot to take a photo.

Glamm - I'm so sorry I didn't notice your post just before mine! It's a big decision having your locks cut off. How long have you had it long? I'm sure you'll love it and it's great to have a change, isn't it.

Well done with your Surfinas - you're becoming the expert with your baskets and tubs and they must give you a lot of pleasure. Can your neighbours see them as well - if so, I bet they love the colourful display.

Oma - what a lovely day out, with lots of goodies to come home with as well. Why am I not surprised Jasper won't keep a collar on - it could spoil his carefully constructed set of slaves who feed him, and no doubt give him cuddles as well!

Nanto - I can still drool over your cake in my imagination despite not having a photo!

The weather's picked up here and it's warmer. OH and our neighbour finished fixing the fence and then decided to make a planting box for J like the ones OH has made for our DS2. So it got to lunch time and I offered them any sandwich they liked as long as it was cheese. J's wife was out so it saved him having to do something for himself. Then his wife came back so we all had cheese sandwiches in the garden. An impromptu picnic
