    Gem when DD hadnt long passed her test she got lost near the coast , B told her to follow the coast line going north till she recognised where she was,
    she was so pleased with herself when she got home , said she had never been more relieved to see familiar places.
    She had rang B in a panic crying didnt know where she was so B couldnt go find her but could see the sea
    Im not fat just 6ft too small

      It is scary when you don't know where you are going no wonder DD was upset.
      I found a petrol station, so I had a full tank, and bought some sweets! Running out of fuel would have been awful!

        I got spectacularly lost in London once. We were living in Bedfordshire. OH's brother and his wife were on holiday from the Bahamas and had been staying with us and then going on to SIL's cousin who lived in Wimbledon. I dropped then off, no problem, but it was a one way street and I got totally lost! I didn't recognise any place names at any junction, it was cloudy so I couldn't even get a vague sense of direction from the sun, and I totally panicked when I realised that DS2, who was a tiny baby, would be due for a feed within an hour or so. I had never been so pleased to find the M1 in all my life!

        Gem - I agree - running out of fuel would have been the last straw!

          Many years ago I went to Heathrow to pick up OH and decided it was easiest to drive through London. We lived near Colchester at the time. DC in the back excited to be going to get Dad. All was going fine until one of the roads was closed and diversions were in place. I had no idea where we were. I saw two policeman so stopped to ask for directions. We're heading that way they said. If you give us a lift we'll see you get there. One got in the passenger seat and the other squeezed in the back with two wide eyed children! Sure enough they got me to Heathrow in time to meet OH. First thing he was told was 'We had two policeman in the car!' Took a bit of explaining. I don't think I've ever driven so carefully!

            Oma, she messaged me to thank me and said she would look into it today.
            Gem, I can remember you almost getting lost between Hull and York! Printing out those directions was handy, but, when you were driving alone very difficult to follow. Was that 16 years ago???????
            Oma, a good idea to follow the coast line!
            Daisy, I have never had to drive in London, but, my father was a long distance lorry driver, drove all over the UK but when he had to go go London he called it a mace of streets. You would be pleased to get to the M1.

              Going to have to catch up later,so behind on reading posts.
              Busy day yesterday,had to dash to in laws unexpectedly.
              Sometimes I forget to like posts,but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

                Good morning. I’m going out to breakfast today, with GD, DD and her friend, a girls treat.

                Today is our wedding anniversary, 55 years. Feeling sad that P isn’t with me to celebrate but also thinking how lucky we were. So,mixed feelings today.

                    Good morning

                    Enjoy your breakfast Enfys. It’s best to keep busy and lovely to have family round you. 55 years is a long time. We made 52 (just)

                    Nanto I Hope the dash to in laws proved not to be to anything too serious.

                    This morning I am going to visit the lady I work ( worked ) for . What with one thing and another I haven’t seen her since before Christmas. Now several households can meet indoors here in Wales the plan is I resume work soon. Today we’ll work out days and times etc. as since I last went the lady’s disabled sister has taken a turn for the worse and now has careers four times a day so I’ll have to fit in with their visits.

                    It’s rather grey here this morning. A bit of sun would be welcome.

                      Very grey day here, supermarket shopping for me sometime today.

                        Lizzie, I passed my test at 50, and it wasn't long after passing, so it must have been 16 years ago!
                        I hope your in laws were OK Nan2.
                        Oh Enfys, an emotional day for you. Sadness when your loss is so raw, and as you say precious memories of the wonderful years you and P shared. I hope you enjoy the breakfast out xxx
                        I'm sure that lady must have missed you Clover.

                        GD and GS2 are coming later this morning, after GS has his school haircut! They are sleeping over. They were due to come for a sleepover just before lockdown.
                        This afternoon I am taking them to a workshop with my artist friend, they are doing acrylic pouring. She is doing the workshop just for them as she hasn't done any this summer, due to social distancing complications. They are very excited! Pizza delivery for their tea.

                            Morning ladies i have had a busy morning , put washing in then rushed around with the duster and hoover jumped in shower before i emptied the recycle bin ,

                            Popped to B&Q needed new doors for downstairs loo cupboard where i keep dog food pegs etc

                            From there to Sainsburys then onto specsavers to pick my sun glasses up they have changed the lenses to Varifocal .
                            Back home now took washing out and its in the tumble coming across dark so i think rain heading our way .

                            Enfys bitter sweet day for you , lots of memories enjoy your breakfast out xxxxx

                            Clover it will be strange going back to work after all this time but it gets you out of the house xx

                            GS1 went back to school yesterday he said it was so funny , went into class and he said his form tutor almost fell off the chair when he seen his beard ,
                            They were introduced to a new teacher and his form tutor said well there are lots of different lower voices with the boys over the lock down and one is even sporting a very fine beard
                            Then when they were changing classes the new teacher was a bit lost and as he was walking along she called boy with beard where am i going

                            He came home and slept for two hours he said all the noise and talking he was shattered .
                            I also spoke to my niece and her son had slept from getting in till about 9pm her 15 too must have worn them all out

                                Oh dear, I turn by back for a few minutes and there are too many posts to catch up with at the moment.

                                Oma - Your GS1 will have to have a beard for ever now! He's a celebrity. I double checked the time of your last post 9.45 am!!! And you've done a day's work! I hope you slept better last night.

                                Gem - is GS2 excited about school? I'm sure he will look very grown up with his school haircut.

                                Clover - I'm sure you will enjoy getting a routine back, and I'm sure the lady will be delighted to see you regularly. It must be hard for her if her sister is getting more frail, despite having carers. It's not just the physical aspects, it's the company, isn't it.

                                Nanto - I hope your in-laws are ok. Every Friday the thought crosses my mind - it's fish n chips day for Nanto!

                                Grauntie - do you have to whisper to OH now he's had his ears syringed?
