Good morning all, this is what I will be doing for most of the day

I shouldn't complain really we desperately need some rain.
It was only at the end of last year and the beginning of this year that so many homes and businesses were flooded out , you can't believe it can you that we can go from one extreme to another.

Oma I felt like that the other day , it's hard to summon up the interest and energy to do even the simplest of things. Lack of sleep can't help.

Clover so pleased you were able to get some comfort from those words . A vicar said them to me when my dear dad died x

I don't know if anyone will be taking advantage of the change in lockdown rules on Saturday. Talked it over with OH and he isn't too keen to rush into anything yet . I know he isn't on the vulnerable list but he is on a lot of medication and the simplest of colds makes him unwell. The only one of our DC who actually fits into the criteria is eldest DS who lives on his own but he has admitted that he sits in his landlord's kitchen chatting to him so that throws up doubt as to whether he will actually stick to the one household rule.

Have as good day as you possibly can everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

      Just had a lovely surprise.
We have had an anniversary afternoon tea delivered to us from Ledbury tea rooms . In the several little boxes are scones with tubs of cream and jam , strawberries, sandwiches, tomatoes , cake and quiche. Also tea bags and a rose cut from their garden .
This is a gift from DS DIL and two GC .
DIL tried to get it delivered on Tuesday but they are so busy they weren't able to do that day .
Its lovely to support local business in these hard times
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi and Gem - what lovely thoughtful presents from your families.

My comment about getting four seasons in one day today was meant as a joke. Tomorrow I'll keep my big mouth shut - we've had everything except snow, ice and thick fog!

I've just finished my Sainsbury's order - it took ages for some reason. Probably because I can't imagine what I'll feel like cooking next week!! Off to portion up some dog food now. I bet you're all jealous of my exciting life! xx

Today I shall get the ironing out of the way and I have Zoom exercise class lined up for later.

Have a good day ladies whatever you're up to xx
WeeGranny - I think we're all dealing with mood swings in the current situation. I'm so glad you're feeling better today. I bet you were worrying about the hospital appointment and your 'down' mood was probably just giving release to those worries.

I'm beginning to think I'm a teenager again - up, down, sad, happy, positive, need a duvet day, grumpy, flippant, restless, tired, energetic ... and that's before breakfast.

I'm SOOO full!! and we haven't eaten the cupcakes (2 each) or brownies yet. I hope you enjoyed yours Mimi. A lovely treat and as it was a busy day today, we decided to have it instead of an evening meal, so no cooking - double bonus

I don't know what the problem is with eggs Oma! I have checked and I think we have plenty so I will take them off this weekends order, to let someone else have more chance!

Morning Nanto and everyone Hope in-laws are fine Nanto.

Sun is actually shining but showers forecast.

I had a letter from Welsh Health Service yesterday to say I should continue shielding until August 16th I’ve done my best to comply so far but have ”broken” advice a couple of times to visit pharmacy.Apart from almost daily walks, which are now officially allowed anyway I’ve led a solitary existence!

Another day ahead to fill. No specific plans apart from a walk, rain or not. I did the garden yesterday instead of a walk. I must think of a new project. I save the knitting for the evening.

Hope the day goes as well as it can for everyone.xx

That sounds a long time until August 16th.

Good morning Nanto, Clover and all who call in later.

Nanto - the graphic reminded me of the water lillies at at Monet's garden in Giverny. I've never been but would like to.

Clover - make the most of the sunshine. August 16th is a long time, but the Welsh government is going more slowly in relaxing restrictions, and better to stay safe and well. Have you got any projects in mind? Why not put some of your thoughts onto paper - you've got a way with words and writing things down might help. Have you ever done any art? You don't need much to get started and it's both absorbing and relaxing?

Two excitements today - bins this morning, then later on I'm popping round to a neighbour to collect a few runner bean plants. We can easily social distance in her garden.
