Daisy Yes DD's work is business as usual , She phoned tonight said its been good at work they back to what they best at good old Social work not just admin all the time ,
Her only worry is she's sending staff out and they don't even have a pair of gloves or aprons to protect them never mind masks .
She said not one member of her staff have called in sick they are all pulling together she's really proud of them .

SIL is looking on the bright side as everyone is in the same boat ,

He went to IKEA for me today and got my Napkins , just as well he did as IKEA closed from 6pm today for the duration although you can order on line still .
The Body shops are closing too tonight .

We have been forbidden by DD to go out to the shops from now on she's really worried about her Dad , as she said there is her , SIL, & GS1 who can get anything we need

Never heard from DS for weeks then he text tonight to see how we were, Sophia has a cough but he said its a cold rather than anything else,

      Good evening everyone.
      Busy day for you Daisy.
Nana, thanks for being concerned for us.
We don't consider ourselves as high risk. Both 65 and generally in good health, taking no immuno suppressant drugs. OH has a phone appointment with her oncologist next week so I'm sure it will be discussed.
2 of my DDs live half a hour away and are now facing working from home and home schooling, so have enough on. My youngest DD will help out if I need her to. As Nan2 says the less people visiting the elderly the better really. From next week I may try to see mum only once weekly, phoning in between. If she needs anything in between then I will probably call on DD3 to take it to her.
Lovely day with GS2, including making buns and a good spell of outdoor play. DD wanted to collect GD from school as it was the last day. Both GC had tea here.
DD2 is not coming on Sunday, she doesn't think it feels right to expose my mum to the children. DD1 won't come near any of us until 2 weeks passes from GS's friends family being isolated due to possible CV.

Our posts crossed Oma. Your DD is right about the risk to her dad about going to shops, best for now that he doesn't. How lovely that they are looking after you both

Oma - I agree, your DD is right! Neither you nor B should be going to the shops. Won't it be good if when all this is over people like your DD can do the job they signed up for instead of all the paper work and red tape. I do think her staff should at least have gloves for visiting though. It's so unfair to put people at risk. I know it's not your DD's fault, I'm just sympathising. Phew, thank goodness you got your napkins ok! xx

Gem - I'm sure it made you happy to have two of your 3 GCs coming for tea. It will be strange for GD not going to school I feel sorry for the children in Year 6 who will now probably never go back to their current schools, though. (Your GD is Year 5, like my GD1, isn't she?) And for students leaving Year 11 and College. None of the usual celebrations, excited discussions about plans and the all important proms and parties. They're missing a happy rite of passage.

I'm sure your mum will understand that your DDs are protecting her from possible infection.

Nanto - did your MIL get her B12 injection ok?

Although it was dry today there was a brisk cold wind, and I don't think it will be much warmer tomorrow, but as long as it doesn't rain, I'm definitely going to do the summerhouse (at the 3rd attempt!). OH has built my new table to go in there and I'm looking forward to tidying up my art and pyrography stuff. I think I've got some Easter-related blanks, so I'll try and make something for the GDs for Easter.

She is the manageress of one the very popular cafes in town.

            Stay safe and well ladies.

Good morning Nan2 and other ladies.

The sun is shining A good day for gardening our just getting out.

Not a job that your GD can do from home Nan2. Some cafes and restaurants around here started to offer takeaway service before the ban came in last night, but whether that is enough to sustain a small business I don't know

I will go to Thomas's in the village for some sausage rolls, beloved of my mum! We are doing sandwiches and cakes for Mothers Day, so I need some sausage rolls her.
Not sure what else we will do today. We may drive out somewhere for a walk. We also want to go to The Range at some point soon, for compost, paint and some decoupage stuff.
We haven't been out for a Mother's Day family meal for many years as it doesn't suit my mum. There will be many such meals booked for tomorrow which are now of course canceled.

              Take care and keep smiling.

Good morning. Sunny here but a cold wind. We are getting out in garden but must wrap up, just need to be outside.

Ive been trying to think of little different things to do, so this morning I made scotch pancakes for breakfast. My goodness, they were yummy, with honey, berries and plain yoghurt. Still some batter left, so will either make some to freeze or we’ll have some for tea......DH says for tea please! So that’s good.

its strange how little things take on such meaning now. DH finished his jigsaw yesterday, and he is looking forward to starting a new one! Who’d a thought it. I have found some geraniums in the garden left over from last summer and they are shooting new growth, so I think I’ll take some cuttings and see what happens. Feeling strangely happy about that. And DD popped over yesterday with a big bar of chocolate for us, a little treat but meant a lot.

Hope you all have a good day, look after yourselves 🌞💐

Enfys, I think we are all learning to take pleasure from simple things more.
Oma, good idea on behalf of the Garden Centre.

GD1 and her partner are coming today after looking after his GM for a week, they have presents for GGS for his birthday tomorrow and then they are off to Cornwall for a week, taking his mother's dog so lot of walks planned. Not sure about us taking presents tomorrow, I want desperately to go but I don't think I should. My DD and Sil are aching to go and see them. I am a bit worried about GD1 in constant contact with customers at Waitrose, her partner works in the Partners dining room so isn't on the shop floor. My DD went to Waitrose yesterday and said it was almost empty of food. DD, Sil are sending for a meal this evening from our favourite restaurant/pub. We have helicopters going over daily presumably to Chequers. Whatever anyone thinks of Boris, I think he is handling it very well and has good advisers.

I am pleased your DD has advised you and B not to visit the shops, even at 7.30, three cheers for your sil for getting those napkins.

Must go and get dressed, will be back later

Well we got the gardening done. looks good, even though i say so myself.
Just been in the shower, so feel fresher now.
I think i've worked up an appetite, feeling very hungry now.

Gem, thats good about the roof fixed.

Oma, you have both been busy as well.

We walked down to the village, lovely fine day. Everyone being sensible and social distancing when queuing etc. No queue in Thomas's, the post office or Co Op, and only a short one in the greengrocer.
Some cafes are closed and some are open for takeaway only . Sad and strange. Roof men are still here. We are glad to get it done, no more leaking!

We decided to nip out to Lidl earlier. its only 5 minutes away in the car.
Just to have a look round really, and pass ½ an hour.
I didn't really need anything but hubby got stocked up with sweets and chocolates.
Says he's not bothered what happens now.

When i put the dishwasher on this morning,i realized i was getting a bit low on dishwasher tablets,so i cut one in half.
And just used the half. While in Lidl i saw they had big bags of Fairy tablets so bought one. Would rather use a whole a tablet than half.

All seem to have had a busy day, I have got 2 doors and frames painted, I want to do the front door tomorrow morning as it will have to stay open for the frame to dry.

I went to the Lidl at 8am was and was impressed, most of items were well stocked up! People keeping their distance as well.

I have just been on the bike to DS1, I got them orchids on the way, the lady came out to thank me for buying them, never had that before. She said there has been such a fantastic response from the people of the village, all buying plants and flowers, otherwise they just have to be dumped, what a shame. A lot are giving them to homes, nurses etc, which is a really good thing.

I have seen the granddaughters, they have survived the first week with no school and busy doing their lessons on-line.
