Good morning ladies from a cold and dull North East ,

Grauntie do it next time see what she says

Avo poor dog years ago my neighbours cat had dementia , she was advised to make a bed for her with a box over in the kitchen and confine her to that room , she would wander around the house crying and would forget she had been fed so cry for food all the time , so sad .

Gem hope the rain keeps off till the event is over but I have a feeling we are in for a downpour this end of the country .

B no further forward they did a biopsy and he may have to have it done again depending on results , they will either send him a letter or send it to hospital and he will find out when he goes to clinic , well you know him awkward Jack cant do anything easy can he

He is busy making sun dried tomato and rosemary bread at the minute so I think I should at least make him a coffee

    Will pop in later xxx

I'm a bit too late to say "Good Fifth Birthday morning" to everyone, so it's just "Good 5th birthday day, everyone".

Nanto - An appropriate graphic with all the daffs. Driving back from the hospital this morning I was amazed how many are out - whole swathes of them in grass verges, and it's still February. It certainly isn't the warm dry weather that's brought them on!!! It's blustery and showery here as well.

Gem - have fun dishwasher hunting, and enjoy the Viking event. It will be interesting to see if you have to sail a longboat or something!

Avo - it's lovely to see you, but I'm so sorry to hear you've had a flare up of your LS - it must really drag you down. Poor doggy. I always feel very protective of our dogs if they're lucky enough to survive into old age, but it is sad to see the decline. One of our Yorkies starting weeing around the house, mainly at night, and he tended to go towards the same place, so we started putting puppy mats down for him and after a couple of nights he got the hang of using them. You could tell he felt better having a 'place' to go, and it was certainly better for us. Because his eyes were so poor and he was diabetic the vet didn't really know if it was dementia, insulin problems of what, but he wasn't in pain and was always ready for his food, so we just adjusted life to his pace and he was fine for a good few months.

Grauntie - when we had a Post Office in the village the lady always used to ask what was in the parcels. OH was usually posting something bizarre like 6 pieces of wood, and for a long time she thought it was OH's sense of humour - but in fact it was 6 little logs to go on a carriage for a Mamood steam engine. Then one day I asked him to post samples for the dog's worm count, and she really didn't believe him when he said 'my wife says it's dog poo'!!!

Oma - Poor B - I hope he doesn't have to have the biopsy done again. Give him a hug from me, please. The bread sounds wonderful - he's certainly earned a coffee.

We're back from OH's hospital appointment. The consultant was very pleased with OH's eye, there's a visible improvement from the last check up, but he did say keep a check on his right eye - just in case. OH now doesn't know if he should worry or not.

This morning everywhere was looking much drier and when I checked the lawn the actual grass was dry. Yippee I thought - I'll give the lawn a light cut when I get back - but since then it's poured with rain.

Welcome back Avo. Sorry about your health problems.
Very saddened to hear about your poor doggy.
Daisy, good news for your hubby, well kind of.
Oma, hope B gets some good results.

Went to Asda for shopping, and managed to get a handbag for the wedding.
It was exactly what i was looking for.

Also picked up hubby's suit for the wedding while we were out.

Nice and bright here, but still very blustery.

Daisy sounds positive with J's eyes , maybe Dr just playing safe in case J ignores any little changes .

Just been watching the Air Ambulance come across just above our roof it was landing just beyond the trees on one of our highways behind us so someone is getting bad news today ,
Fingers crossed its not fatal whatever it is .

We heard it getting closer then the noise was deafening it was so low we could see the staff onboard , hate to think what might have happened , our highways are very fast unless with the wind a lorry has overturned .

Well this evening's event is cancelled. I cant say I'm surprised. DD and GS are in town and say the weather is awful. I'm sorry not to go, but in another way glad to stay in. I either have the same cold dragging on, or another, but my ears are a bit sore and I just feel slightly under the weather, so standing in the cold for 2 hours wouldn't have done me much good really!
We decided to leave dishwasher shopping until tomorrow.

Oma, I hope all is good with B's biopsy. How we must all detest that word!!
I hope that casualty is ok, whoever they may be.
Daisy, that sounds very positive for your OH.
Nan2, how long until the wedding now?

Nanto - hurrah, getting the perfect bag for your wedding outfit. It sounds as though both you and hubby are now ready for the Big Day - not long to wait, is there! The only trouble with weddings is you spend so much time and thought in planning them, but the day itself is gone in a flash.

Oma - Oh dear - I hope whatever emergency the Air Ambulance was attending wasn't a fatality. It must be an extremely stressful job for both the medics on board and the air crew. They often have to land in places no civilian helicopter would consider using. I take my hat off to Clare's mum and her colleagues - they're very brave.

Oma, hope it's nothing too serious.

Oh not long now until the wedding Nan2!

Well we had to go to my mum's house! She phoned in a flap as the plastic roof had blown off her very old sunroom on the back of the house. We rescued the roof and put it in the garage, and covered the washing machine and socket, which are in the sunroom, with plastic sheeting and secured it with rope. Was she grateful? Not really. I think she thinks we can perform miracles and magic the roof back on.
She worries incredibly about things like this. Her house is secure, she is warm and safe, we can do her washing if she needs any, and it can't go back on until the wind drops anyway. She was very grumpy and cared not at all that I had a sore throat and had to go out and sort it all, with OH!
Oh well, we will try to get something sorted on Monday.

Gem, its not fair when mum is grumpy with you. You and OH do so much for her.

Gem, pleased you've both cheered up.

Daisy,i hope the weather is better for the wedding. I told her she was mad for getting married in March.
But, she wanted to get married on the anniversary of their engagement.
When she said they were getting married in a marquee, i thought crikey i will be frozen.
Don't worry Nannan she said, its heated.

I wished GRU Happy 5th Birthday on FBk this morning. Where have those years gone? Thanks to everyone who'se keeping this lovely site going. I'm sure it's been a life saver for many of us. 💕

Avo reading about your poor dog made me quite sad. I've never given it a thought that our lovely pets could get dementia. Sorry you've been in discomfort too. Thoughts go to the Grans OH's who have medical issues. Oma it's bad enough having that procedure once without a repeat. Poor bloke. Nan2 I've only been to a wedding with the reception in a marquee once, but I really enjoyed it, as I'm sure you will. Hope you show us how lovely you look in your outfit.

Concerned about Clover. Does anyone know if she's ok? Hope she's not been affected by the floods in Wales on top of everything else.
