Afternoon all, just back from the park where we had breakfast with g/d boy she loves her food 🙂 we went on those exercise things for adults nearly broke our necks but it was good fun , I liked the walking ones and the ones where you put both feet on and swing from side to side did wonders for my hips 😂
Just finished a competition on building towers with Lego mine was Battersea power station and g/d built a block of flats grandad wad the judge , of course it was a draw, now I’m on here and g/d is having her hour playing games on her iPad . Hospital tomorrow trying to take my mind off what might or might not happen 😷🏨💉
Gem you are 12 miles away from me !!!!
I might as well join in with the league of stiff joints , had a stiff shoulder for months now doesn’t hurt when doing nothing but in certain moves it’s painful, and sometimes I can hear it click yuk .
Enfys Enjoy your meeting and glad your Dd has arrived safely those few weeks will fly by
GM you’ve set me off now with the Turkish delight I might have to partake in mint cremes !
Lovely graphic Nanto it’s just like that here at the moment but cold with it

Hallo, what a lot to read! I have read all the posts, as for the stiff joints, my knee is playing up. I was kneeling on it this morning but as it started yesterday I won't blame that! I went on my bike to the hospital in Delft yesterday afternoon, not far, 6 kms, only riding through Delft can be h### on earth! It went fine until I was on my way home and got a puncture in my front tyre!!!! I can mend them myself but it was cold and windy, I am a member of the AA for cycle help so phoned them, I must say the boy arrived in 10 minutes, he looked and said I had rode over a nail or glass but nothing in the tyre, he mended the puncture, I set off home, dark by now, 10 minutes later, the same happened!!!! I wasn't very pleased, phoned them again and another young man arrived with 15 minutes, he was more experienced, the puncture was leaking again so he mended it , then, found another one, to cut a long story short, 3 pieces of glass in my tyre, probably from New Years Eve when they put fireworks in bottles to set then off then the glass explodes. By now I had been stood in the bitter cold wind for 2 hours so was pleased when he got it fixed, he said he would drive behind me to the village then I should be fine, I was, but, I was still cold when I got to bed!

I don't trust tubes that are mended so phoned the cycle shop this morning and he managed to fit me in, got the bike carrier on the car and went, he soon put a new tube in and checked that the tyre was safe. I was telling him I got a VIP invitation from the cycle firm, the firm started off small about 10 years ago and is now very big, when I got my first E bike 7 years ago there was one salesman and one repair van, now they have so many, also shops and workplaces in most of the towns here. I was telling him about the invitation, it is for 2 days and so much to do, first day ending with a dinner etc in a hotel then the next day they are showing us round the factory.. I have booked so looking forward to it, he said they will try to sell me a new bike but just say mine is fine!

It will be a group of 50 so will see what it is like, this is a long posting for me!!!

            Lego, always fun Qwerty
            Good bargains Oma.
Mimi daffodils are peeping through here as well.
What a shame about the bike punctures Lizzie, no wonder you were cold. The invitation sounds good though!

We had a lovely day out with the family. Much longer than I expected, and we're just back now! GS, who can never leave anything he is enjoying willingly, was so sad that the animals had to go to bed and we had to leave. Even though we were amongst the very last to leave, everywhere was in almost total darkness and we had to use phone torches to find the cars!
A good day, which will go in my Jar!

Lizzie, pleased you eventually got your bike sorted.

Gem, loving the sound of your day out.

Spring bulbs are poking through here as well.

Qwerty, hope all goes well tomorrow.

We've also got spring bulbs poking through, and today I noticed the potted hydrangea outside the back door has got buds on it.

Gem - what a lovely day out - GS2 obviously enjoyed it very much. I hope T also enjoys her holiday in Dubai and it helps to heal the rift with her OH.

Lizzie - I didn't realise e-bikes had been around as long as 7 years. You must have been a trail blazer for the - literally. What a nuisance getting glass in the tyre like that, but AA for bikes sounds a great idea, and certainly a godsend today. Still 2 hours in the cold is no joke. I hope it doesn't make your joints any more painful.

Qwerty - I bet you and GD both enjoyed every minute of your day together. Isn't it great when they get to the age where they still want to play but with Gran as an equal playmate, not an 'adult'. ( I hope that makes sense!) I hope all goes well tomorrow. I'm sure you will be glad to get it over and done with. xx

Nanto - I'm so pleased to hear your GD is enjoying living with her dad. It must be a weight off your shoulders, too.

Oma - that was a useful shopping trip, and lots of bargains.

Grauntie, I feel your pain. No, not the digits (although I do sympathise) it's the dilemma over the Turkish delights and the cognac truffles. How on earth is a girl to choose!! In my mind I've swapped the TDs for dark chocolate gingers, and I don't know where I'd start, even though I know full well where I'd finish - at the end of both boxes. Hahaha Can I ask what are the boxes for that you are making?

Mimi - you'd think a telephone appointment would be easier to get than a face-to-face one. I'm horrified by the amount of food some families waste. It's quite shocking, but I suppose we're the generation brought up post-war with its rationing and shortages of things.

We've had a lovely day with DS1 and family. For once the roads were quiet and it was so pleasant not to be sitting nose to tail with 10-ton lorries etc. They are still in the process of sorting out their house after a big extension, but gradually things are getting back to normal. Both GSs are delighted to have their own bedrooms again. GS2 already had a large room and had it organised to suit his hobbies etc, and GS1 has now moved into his mum and dad's old bedroom. The first thing was to set up a work bench in there for his electronics. He's not bothered about the rest of the room! OH gave DS a hand to put up a shelf or two, and my OH is raving about DS1's garage. I really hope he isn't dreaming up plans to extend our garage into our house!!

Thanks for the tip re oven shelves in the plastic bag. It makes sense to put it outside Nan2. How do you dispose of the bag with the chemical in it tho'? I've not read the instructions yet.

Qwerty I hope that your appointment went well for you & you've got yourself sorted. Lizzie I love the descriptive way you write... I am almost transported across there, standing next to you shivering in the cold.

Went to dental hospital this morning (ignore it's Saturday now) & will begin physio with a new physiotherapist once I get an appointment. Lovely bloke reminds me of Paul O'Grady. Called in on DD1 after & had a lovely time with her boys.

Good morning. We are going to Wakefield today.
Will be doing my shopping in Sainsburys. lovely big store.
I like to have a good look round. Sometimes we can find something different for meals.

Nana, i empty the bag into the grate outside, then the bag goes in the bin.

Daisy, pleased you had a lovely day yesterday. Hope your OH isn't getting ideas for extending the garage.

Good morning all. Lovely picture Nan2.

I think it’s been raining overnight and still dull and dreary here. No plans for today, apart from cleaning. I feel the urge to have w good sort out and move things around, poor DH won’t be able to find anything 🙂

We had a good meeting at WI yesterday, nice to see everyone again after the Christmas break. We had a very interesting talk from a chap from Cancer Research UK, it’s amazing what is going on but also how much it all costs.

Had some more nice pics from DD, she is still recovering from the flight, I can remember how shattered I felt. It’s lovely to see them all together, and soon DGD will be joining them.

Qwerty, hope your hospital appointment goes well.

                      Have a a good day everyone. 🌞

Good morning ladies, a nice one here. For some reason it doesn't feel like a Saturday, and I thought it was Monday when I woke up! Perhaps because of the family day out yesterday.

There's a big Sainsbury's a couple of miles from us Nan2 , as well as a small branch in our village. I like to visit the big one sometimes, as they sell so much.
I bet your DD will be so happy to be with your GD Enfys
Nothing planned today, apart from sorting through the Christmas boxes. There are things in there we haven't put out this year, and maybe not for few years so it pointless putting them back in the loft. A cull is needed!

I hope all are well and have a good day.

Good morning, everyone. It's not quite warm enough to have breakfast in the garden like Nanto's graphic, but it's not too bad. I hope it stays dry. I'm going to take the decorations down today and like Enfys, I feel the urge to clean. It's not often that happens in our house!!

Qwerty - I hope it all goes well today. xx

Enfys - lovely to be getting pics from your DD.

Nanto - enjoy your shopping. Our nearest huge Sainsbury's is Hedge End - one of the branches that was featured in the recent TV programmes.

Nana - it sounds as though your dental appointment went well.

Qwerty I hope they can do your Botox today and no delays xx

Gem I intended doing the same thing but was to lazy so they all went back in the loft

Enfys a good sort out does you good

Nanto its nice to have a good look around especially if you don't visit the store often , is it just food shopping or do you intend looking for clothes too ?

Daisy distract him with something else or he will be converting the garage into a very large work shop

Nana did you get the oven cleaned ?

Well I went to bed at 9.30 last night and didn't wake till 6am I went unconscious I was so worn out with lack of sleep ,
This morning I have stripped the beds and washed the bedding , its now in tumble ,
Did the ironing and ironed fresh bedding and did my general hoover dust thing while I had the energy .

Popping to freezer place soon need to re stock after New year get together , apart from that I intend resting my knees today and tomorrow

Have a good day ladies xxx

Morning everyone. No Oma the oven is still waiting for a clean. I hand that job over to OH & that's why it's still a job not done. I've been trying to rest up after the last month or so, so he can have the job I hated. 😉

My aim now is to spend my free time quilting. Generally speaking I have a month-ish. I plucked up courage to go in a quilting shop yesterday to ask for advice & it was like Aladdin's cave. She even has classes. She was encouraging & helpful. I know what to do next now so time to pick up where I left off. Her best advice was to chill with it & to enjoy making such a special gift ....don't rush it, just relax with it. Round two here I come. 🧘‍♀️

Waiting for Tesco grocery delivery this morning, the first one since Christmas. I didn’t think I wanted much but by the time I ordered washing powder, toilet cleaner , coffee , tea , bread etc it’s surprising how it all adds up.

Nana after your OH has cleaned your oven would he care to come and clean mine , it’s not too dirty but it’s a job I hate. What with Grauntie offering to do my ironing I will soon be a lady of leisure 😆😉

Qwerty hope it all all goes well at the hospital today.

I am washing OH’s coat at the moment, I did suggest I did it before it turned colder but he took no notice so I am doing it today and it’s most definitely colder outside, men , they won’t be told will they ?

                                Have a good day everyone
