Sorry to hear about poorly folk. I hope you get better soon. I need smelling salts .... Oma restingšŸ˜²

Need to do some food shopping today. I might follow Enfys's example & do an online shop. It's easy once you get into the swing of it Enfys. My advice would be to stick to the list you've made or you may find yourself with a whopping bill at the end from ...'Ooo I'll have six of those as they're on offer' & 'Ooo that might come in handy one day'.šŸ˜‰

Best thing about it is that you can go over your list & delete what you don't need before you buy. The most important thing is that the delivery person is willing to take your shopping in for you, so don't go carrying the bags in. That's you toldā£

Enfys, you are having a trying time, no wonder you are feeling sorry for yourself. Hope your DS is feeling a bit better.

Naughty cat Gemini, waking you and GS2 up when you could have had a lie-in. I bet GD enjoyed her trip.

Well done Daisy for getting those old suitcases cleared out of the loft. At my age I am very aware that I must not leave a lot of clearing out for the family.

Clover, it is a nuisance when you forget the one thing you were going out for.

England are doing well in the Rugby World Cup but early days yet. Japan and South Africa are playing atm. Wales are through by the skin of their teeth. DS is watching it in a bar in Cannes and Sil is watching it in Spain. GD1 and partner are back from their holiday, they are getting married in 2021 so they are looking at venues. Saw one yesterday they really liked.

Nana I agree, Enfys ask the delivery person to take the groceries indoors , we have ours delivered to the back of the flat and he/she then brings it into the kitchen which is at the back of the flat.
Oh and while I think of it , donā€™t believe too much in the stories about the subs that supermarkets make . In all the years I have had online grocery delivery I have had only one silly subs. I wanted bath sponge and they replaced it with saucepan scourers . You can refuse the subs at no cost to you.
On a plus side I have had Tesco crunchy nut cornflakes replaced with Kelloggā€™s Crunchy nut cornflakes , but charged at the lesser Tesco price. I have even had a bottle of White wine replaced with Champagne ( Between you and me I think it was the grocery pickerā€™s last day at Tesco and maybe had a grudge with Tesco!)
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Afternoon ladies! Hope all poorly folk are soon on the mend. I do think that as you mature, you don't recover from falls, injuries etc as quickly as you did when you were younger.

Fantastic night with Andrea Bocceli. The show was slick and very professional and his voice was just as amazing in real life as it is on audio. His back up team were also great, a soprano, a flautist, two dancers and Beverly Knight. He sang lots of light opera songs and only a couple from albums. They all sang Time to Say Goodbye as the last song. Glad we were staying at the hotel next to the venue as the queues to get out of the car parks seemed to go on for ever.

Good trip there and back. We ended up driving as part of the rail journey was being replaced by buses...both from our end and DD's. It was a much better run than expected.

Message from DD, there garage was broken into last night and two bikes were taken. GS had only got his for his birthday in September. However, one of the houses in their cul-de-sac has CCTV and they've identified the thief going from house to house trying doors etc. before taking their bikes. Hopefully they'll get them back. The embarrassing thing is that DSiL is a policeman!

Sun shining here but there's a chilly wind blowing. May just spend the rest of the afternoon with the Sunday papers!

WeeGranny - I like the idea of us 'maturing' - like a good wine, perhaps? It sounds as though the concert was a magical evening, and such an advantage being next door to your hotel. There has been a spate of cars being tampered with in our road - nothing taken, but there were people who never bothered to lock their cars at night. I hope the low-life who stole your GS's bike gets caught through the CCTV.

Enfys - good advice from the on-line experts. How was your DS when you face-timed him?

Plant - clearing out my cousin's house has brought it home to us that we need to get rid of superfluous 'stuff'.

Well, we've sorted ourselves to a standstill today! And - I even managed to cut the lawn. It's very rough and ready but another couple of dry days will mean I can get it back into some sort of shape!

Next door neighbours have cameras on their house. Before they did it they explained that the nearest camera covered the bottom of our drive & asked if that would be ok. Lucky to have kind people next door. I hate theiving little so & so's!

Had a bit of a busy day with visitors, but been a good day.

Enfys a good idea to do an online shop.
I do one about once a month, and have a really good stock up.

WeeGranny, sorry to hear about the thieves. I could and would chop their hands off.
This happened once to DS2 ex partner. DS2 went straight to the Cash Converters shop when it opened.
And,the bike was there. He got it back.
Pleased you enjoyed the concert, sounds like you had a good trip all round.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
                      I hope everyone is well.

I read all yesterdays posts but didn't have time to reply. Once GS, DD , SIL and GD left we had a quick putting away of toys, dust and hoover, then off to fetch our friend. I was so tired that evening after the bad night awake with GS, but couldn't just go to bed as we had a guest, I almost fell asleep at one point!
Today is a busy one. Not only the friend staying (Who needs a fair bit of help with lifting her leg LOL, and carrying things) it is also my mums medication review, GS1's party and meeting up with friends tonight. Friends from Edinburgh come to stay in the Dales for a week every year. They used to live in York so we meet up each time. We will meet at mutual friends house for a takeaway. Knee-op friend is coming with us, and staying here a second night.

                      Have a good Monday ladies.

Pleased to see Nanto's graphic makes the day brighter its so grey here ,

How are all the poorly people ? doesn't it seem worse when your not well this time of year seems to take longer to recover

B off to Hospital appointment im here with the Dog who is in the garden chewing on a bone , he will come in soon and sleep most of the day

Met our friends for Coffee and Brunch yesterday morning , J dropped D off then drove away we couldn't understand what he was doing but when D came into the cafƩ she said J had had to quickly go home she had left her handbag on top of the Bin in full view of everyone and it had everything in it ,

She has difficulty getting out of the door so J had taken her bag and put it on bin till he helped her out and then totally forgot about it ,
Luckily we don't live far from the Garden centre and it was still there when he got back .

Good morning all. Very bright and breezy here, up early again as itā€™s Pā€™s last day of chemo meds so I was up at 6.30 to make his breakfast and make sure he had his tablets ok. Now we have a break until after the scan.

Feeling a but better this morning. Not as painful to move around and take deep breaths so thatā€™s good, Iā€™m on the mend šŸ™‚. Spoke to DS yesterday, he is suffering with shingles. Has been told to rest but typically for him has been busy in the garden ( just like his father ). DIL not happy with him but he wonā€™t be told, so we both told him off. Wonā€™t do any good though.

Oma, hope Bā€™s appointment goes well. Have a good day everyone šŸŒž

I hope those who are in pain and those with hospital get on okay. Pleased to hear you are in slightly less pain today Enfys, it must have been a nasty fall.

Cheeky monkeys stealing your GS's new bike WG, hope they catch them. It sounds like a wonderful evening you and OH had in Birmingham WG, good idea to stay the night.

What a scare your friend D had Oma, pleased the bag was still there.

Gemini, busy, busy as usual, I am sure your friend with a leg problem was pleased to be looked after. Hope the party goes off okay, I bet your GS is excited.

Daisy we should all review what we need to keep or not, at my age I am well aware of not leaving problems for the children. All necessary paperwork is in a drawer in the desk, I am intending to leave my wishes for my funeral but that is harder to commit to as yet. I would hate to have to sort out my sister's house, she has ornaments everywhere and what I consider to be clutter. I am sure her loft is stuffed with items she no longer has any use for. Her only child lives in Hong Kong and has no intention of coming back to this country to live. He has just had a house built for his retirement in Thailand.

                              Morning.
                              A beautiful morning here.

Gem busy as as usual I see. Not much happens here so Iā€™m envious of your social life.

Plant Iā€™m conscious of time passing and needing to sort out a lot of things hence my garage clearing for starters . I must follow Daisyā€™s example and cull the wardrobes and everywhere else to be quite honest.Itā€™s just a question of motivation and energy.ā€The spirit is willing but the flesh is weakā€!Some days it worries me and others I just donā€™t care.

Enfys Iā€™m glad youā€™re getting there albeit slowly.Itā€™ll be good not to have to get up early for Pā€™s medication. I know 6.30 seems like the middle of the night now itā€™s dark in the mornings. Your DS must be feeling okay to be working in the garden. I hope not resting wonā€™t prolong his recovery.

Oma your friendā€™s heart must have sunk when she realised her bag was left behind. What a relief it must have been to get it back safely.Hope Bā€™s hospital visit goes well.

                              Have a good day

Good morning all. Itā€™s a dull cold day here so far.
I am waiting for the butcher to arrive and then I need to go to the post office and post some cards .
Tomorrow i did have an appointment at the well woman clinic but I have had to cancel. If ever someone picks up the phone on reception I will make another appointment.

                                How is everyone today

Clover I felt almost saintly like when we downsized as we had a lot of sorting out to do. We had to get the contents of a three bed house into a two bed flat so we had quite a lot to donate to charity.
Now 6+ years on and we have somehow managed to collect a lot of stuff we donā€™t actually need so we need to have a good look at what we do or donā€™t need. The cupboard in the bedroom was almost empty when we first moved here , it is now crammed full. Where does it all come from ?

Oma good wishes for B hospital appointment.

Enfys good to see that you are on the road to recovery at last .

                                Nan2, a lovely graphic

Bring me sunshine in your smile.
