Poor Libra, we all understand when she doesn't feel like posting Oma, but look forward to hearing from her again when she does. It was so nice to see her again this year.
Plant, the Waitrose Christmas party is very early isn't it?!
    Did Rudolph come out Mimi?

We did our shopping , now having a cuppa and (bought) mince pie and a sit down. We are going over to our friends house sometime after 6.
I am feeling a bit sorry for myself, as I am so sick of this sore throat and ears. I have had it for over 2 weeks now. Sometimes it seems to almost clear up, but never for more than a few hours. It makes me feel a bit under par too, but when I have some painkillers and rest it does help and I feel OK again. I had something like this years ago that went on and on and in the end I went to the Dr. They agreed it was a long time, sent tests off for glandular fever which I never got the results from (so presume it wasn't) Eventually it got better and it will this time, just an annoying virus that has to run it's course.

      A labour of love Nana.

I have just ordered some knickers from M&;S. Meeting GD1 later when she finishes work to go to JL to find something for her to wear to the Waitrose Christmas Party tomorrow, she has left it a bit late, wish us luck.

Looking forward to see the finished clock Enfys.

Just got back from a craft show and managed to find a few presents, very pleased with one for Dil.

          Good morning everyone.
Nan2, thanks, its not so bad this morning, so fingers crossed! We had a good night last night.

I will do the delivery round this morning, which won't take long as OH has done the bulk of it.
I will see my mum this afternoon,
GD is in a big karate competition in Nottingham today. On Friday she was both excited and nervous. I hope it goes well for her!
          Have a good day ladies,

Good Sunday morning everyone. Nanto - a lovely warm graphic - I could just do with a steaming hot chocolate in that mug.

Plant - did GD find a dress for the party? Can we ask what you got at the craft show?

Oma - I'm so glad you're keeping in contact with Libra. I know she'll post when she feels she can, but in the meantime, she's in my thoughts. It was lovely to see her in September but this latest problem with her DD must have knocked her for 6 again.

I'm beginning to feel a bit left out - I haven't bought any new undies for ages, and trying to get comfortable bras is a distant pipe dream!!

Gem - I think it sounds as though you're thoroughly run down with the pain from your knee, worry about your Mum and little kitty, plus everything that you do every week. That's when things like colds and sore throats 'get' us and hang around for ages. Is there any chance you and OH can get a couple of days away before Christmas to give you a chance to recharge your batteries? I remember some years ago going through the whole winter with a cycle of coughs and colds - as fast as one cleared up the other started. In the end I went to the doctor, feeling completely run down, and she said could I have a couple of days in bed doing absolutely nothing. She said it's not very scientific but it often works. She was absolutely right - it did. Just 48 hours of complete rest and I felt fine again. Sending hugs. xx

Good luck to your GD in her karate competition. I bet she's had an early start!

I've gone off the boil as far as Domestic Goddessness is concerned, but yesterday I did manage to do most of the washing, sorting out next week's dog food and treats, and cook a meal. It was nice and sunny around lunch-time so we took Eva up to the paddock and she had a really good run round as well as lots of intense sniffing, so she slept for the rest of the day.

Today, I shall do my best to ignore the pile of ironing. I've been trying to do half an hour in the garden every day, weather permitting, but today I might aim for a bit more.

I hope you all have a happy, peaceful Sunday and the weather is being kind to you all.

                Morning ladies ,
Nanto what a pretty graphic you could actually imagine that as a Painting or ornament for the garden couldn't you

Gem have you a hat ? cover your ears just as a bit protection just in case xxx
Fingers and toes crossed for GD im sure with Daddy's training she will be fabulous

Clover a go with the flow here too

As it was after 4 before I got to bed im a bit slow this morning , flicked through with the Hoover and duster and put a white wash in then I went for a long Hot shower and a bit of a pamper ,
Shaved what needed shaving but to be honest im not the most hairiest person so that didn't take long , gave my feet a good moisturising , I do this about 4 times a week anyway with having Diabetes I take care of them , then gave my hair a good conditioning ,
If I use conditioner more than once a week my hair goes flat but I love the feel when its been done.

Its bright but wet out there ,was going to go to a Christmas fair but I feel to tired and lazy so changed my mind
Have a good day ladies xxx

Good morning all. Dry but cold here. Yesterday we spent in the garden doing a job which we have wanted to do for ages. Ages ago we out down some wire mesh as a walkway on the decking as it got very slippy when wet and frosty. When we had the deck repaired and sealed in the summer we had to take it up but really wanted to get it back down before the real bad weather. Managed to half yesterday so will finish it off today. It’s not a hard job just a bit awkward.

P is feeling so much better now he’s off chemo, so I really think it was the right decision, I can’t believe the difference, you wouldn’t know there was anything wrong with him.

I have put a photo of his clock in Hobbies and Pastimes, I really like it. Now he wants t make something else. He has his eye on a racing car. So nice t see him taking an interest and wanting to do things again.

Hope everyone feeling poorly gets well soon, wrap up and keep warm if you have to go out. Have a good Sunday 🌞

Gosh, that wasn't much sleep then Oma.
Enfys I am so glad your OH is feeling well, it make so much difference to you both. Long may it continue xxx
Daisy, I think you are probably right. Last time I had this I had 2 jobs, ran the local toy library and was on a couple of committees, and with OH working away a lot I was like a single parent really. I think I just had no time to myself at all. We actually have a night away next Sunday, so that will do me good

I seem to have missed some posts, sorry if I haven't replied. Poor Libra, she must wonder what next, give her my love Oma.

GD didn't find anything Daisy, she is going to wear something she bought for a wedding party. I managed to find a couple of Christmas/Birthday presents at the School Fair. I bought a very nice necklace for Dil, smelly sticks for Sil's mother, bracelet for GD2 (will add something later when I hear from her. She has started a new job so I don't like to pester her for ideas.

Gemini, perhaps you should take Daisy's advice and tuck yourself up in bed for a couple of days to re-charge your batteries and let the rest of the family know you are not available.

Dying to have a look at the clock P made Enfys.

I suppose they have the Waitrose Christmas party early so that they don't have hangovers to deal with the Christmas rush.

                        Good morning all.
Just harvested that last of the potatoes so that the last of the big gardening jobs for the winter.
Because OH tided up the shed yesterday all the pots , wheelbarrow and garden potting bench have been put to the back of the shed , patio table is sitting under the shelf (Did I say we have a very large shed?) and Rudolph our Christmas patio ornament is sitting near the front ready to be put outside at a moments notice. Our garden has really taken on a sad , dull unloved looked now, every thing is soaking wet and cold.

We are having lamb shanks for lunch with pear crumble ( had some windfall ones off a friend) with chocolate sauce for afters.
Yesterday I booked a table in a pub in town for Christmas lunch in December for myself and OH . We plan to mooch around the Christmas market and then have pop and have some lunch. This is the second pre Christmas dinner I am having, I have one booked a table with the ‘girls’ from work the following week. We are going to Miller and Carter
SIL is bound to phone later this month to say she has also booked a family pre Christmas meal . Good job I like turkey!

Enfys it is is so good to hear that P is feeling much better.

Oma , you saying you are not the hairiest person reminds me having a conversation with GD a while ago , she was amazed to discover that I didn’t need to shave my legs every week unlike her who has to . The older I have got the less I have had to shave . But I do have a running battle with those horrible long black hairs that appear over night on my top lip! Now those I could do without
By the way Oma , not in bed till after 4.... you haven’t been out painting the town red again have you

Hope all our poorly ladies soon feel better

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Our day has ended up being busier than I expected. A friend called round for coffee and chat, by that then it was lunch time but we'd arranged to meet DIL2 at the paddock with Cooper and the GDs. DIL has hurt her shoulder and DS2 still has this nasty bug, but dog and children needed fresh air and exercise. So we spent an hour or so with the two dogs running round and the girls playing on the rope swing - until it broke! Eva has slept since we got back, but she's limping a bit so don't know what she's done.

We had lunch and OH turned the tv on - From here to Eternity was on, so we watched that (after a conversation on another thread I wanted to see it!). We still haven't fixed our new router so I've quickly dropped in here before pulling the plug on the old one, so sorry I haven't commented on your post yet. I very much hope to be back later.
