Nan2, the vision of your MiL under the mattress made me chuckle! Hopefully it won't come to that!

Avo, my GP gave me the very strong cocodamol last week and I have to say it's a lot more effective than the others. I can't take Ibubrofen anyway. You should have a really good sleep tonight...if you last that long! take it easy x

Sunny here, but the wind is chilly again. Done what household chores I'm doing for the day so am going to find a sheltered spot in the garden with my book.

OH still prising ivy off the garden wall. At least he's getting plenty of fresh air!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies x

LOL Nan2!! These elderly parents can be a trial
Avo, I'm sorry you are in so much pain and discomfort
Ivy will keep your OH occupied for ages WG. Its very tenacious.

All good with mum, and they got her to wave to us from her window which is upstairs at the front of the house. Nice to see her!
Tesco click and collect went smoothly. Except idiot me, now checking the shopping list my neighbour had emailed me yesterday, realise I have missed off the last page. So - off I go to Sainsbury's in the village in the hope I can get those half dozen items before we take the shopping round!

Oma - I'm not in danger of becoming a domestic goddess, or a domestic anything! It was a joint effort getting one very stubborn cobweb off the skylight though. We both ended up with aching necks and shoulders.

Nanto - Let's hope your MIL is happy with the mattress now. Otherwise, she's in for a shock.

Avo - it's sounds as though you're really going through the mill. At least the Cocodamol should help you to sleep tonight. WeeGranny - I'm glad it helped you. xx

Oma - there can't be any nook or cranny left for you to paint now. Tomorrow - feet up and take it easy. Although he didn't have a very good night, your brother must be pleased to have regains a bit more mobility and to know his liver's in the clear.. I hope the scan today shows his heart is ok.

Gem - I thought of your mum when the snooker came on today. I'm glad she's got a tv in her room so she can enjoy it. It must have eased your worries a bit being able to wave to her through the window. xx

OH gone to bed but I'm not tired so watching 'Love Actually' again on tv & catching up on here.

Started to clean the oven yesterday & put first lot of cleaning gel on & cleaned the glass doors. Left the oven overnight. Continued cleaning oven this afternoon but needed a round 2. Mental note to self.... I really must clean the oven more often. Next lot of gel on hopefully doing it's thing again overnight. I remember now why I hate oven cleaning.😡

Our poor little pooch has been off colour today. Not wanting to eat much & lethargic. We kept him away from the oven cleaning so it's not that. He's perked up tonight so hope he's ok.

                Good morning everyone.

I hope Oma's brother is improving, and dear Clover is OK, and your dog is feeling better today Nana.

Nothing planned for us, apart from taking the neighbour's shopping round (3 doors down) I got everything I had left off the the list from Sainsbury's, phew!

Have a good day, stay happy and safe.

Good morning Gem, and all who pass by later.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and not quite as windy as yesterday.

I feel the urge to clear dead leaves etc out of our little rockery/water feature today, and the lawn seems to have shot up so that's on the agenda as well. After all my domestic goddess efforts yesterday I think I'm due for a day in the fresh air.

Nana - I'm impressed by your oven cleaning efforts. I gave our oven racks a quick soak in Vanish powder yesterday and cleaned the grill and oven doors, but I haven't got any proper oven cleaner so I've decided to leave the rest until I've got something powerful and no doubt evil to get all the gunge off with.

Gem - what a busy day. I'm glad you were able to wave to your mum.

Avo - how are you today?

WeeGranny - how is OH getting on with the ivy? It's a tough job. I hope you're ok.

Oma - hoping for good news about your brother today.

Nan2 I hope everything is ok with your in laws.

Clover - big hugs if you're looking in. xxx

Oma, your poor brother, lets hope it not the virus causing his illness.

I have a self cleaning oven but it takes so much electricity I have only used it a couple of times when I first had it. I sometimes pay for it to be cleaned but cleaned it myself last week. I have coated it with a paste of bicarb. and water, so it should just wash off next time, this is what they used to do in the school kitchens. Guiders coat their saucepans with a mixture of Daz and water paste when they are cooking over an open fire, the black just washes off.

Daisy, enjoy your day off from gardening and cleaning. Not sure what I am going to do today. I could chase a bit of dust around that I can't see. the house is clean to my standards and the garden is looking very colourful. My Sil cuts the grass. I made some garibaldi biscuits yesterday, no currants so had to use sultanas, not quite the same as currants are a bit sharper in taste. I am beginning to run out of salad stuff and bananas so will give GD a list tomorrow.

Love the graphic Nanto. I love jacket potatoes with prawns and mayo.

Gemini, lovely to have seen your mother, if only through the window. Do hope she feels she is in the best place and decides to stay.

WG, could your OH come and deal with the ivy in out garden, it is taking over the world.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

I have washed bedding and towels and got them on the line. Cleaned the bathroom and downstairs loo. Hoovering upstairs is next on the list. That may wait until tomorrow though!
                                OH is cutting the grass.
We will go for a walk this afternoon.

We are having prawns today too. Prawn, avocado and egg salad, with new potatoes. This will be our third fish night in a row, maybe we will have some meat tomorrow!
