I am sure the school were just being careful Oma. You be careful going to all those shops.

Daisy, schools are still open here, not sure what might happen. My DD works in a private school, they are still open. Wonder what would happen about the fees if they do close. Our local theatre is closed so DD will not be ushering for a bit.

Love your daily menu Nanto, can we put ourselves in isolation in your house?

Daisy I am sure you will enjoy your greenhouse projects again. Mine was mainly used to produce veg. plants for OH to stock his veg garden, so not much use for it now. It is just used for storage.

Morning. OH's been out getting a bit of food shopping for our elderly neighbour. When he got back she said she's broken her fridge, cleaning it ready for when he got back. She hadn't turned it back on at the wall socket. She has been diagnosed with alzheimer's recently. She lives alone too. We're keeping an eye on her.

Has anyone heard from GrannyJules lately. I miss her. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Well we went off to Asda the big hyper market one by 8.30 it was packed but empty shelves , no fresh Chicken or mince , tin isles and even the pickle isles were empty ,
Apparently they may have to shut for 24 hours to re stock as they are not getting the chance ,

Came out of there with a loaf of bread , oranges and pears ,
Went over to The range , didn't have a Microwave we liked but I did get some ait tight canisters I have been meaning to buy for some time but forget every time we go there .

Then over the road to IKEA , didn't even stop the car , the car park was full by 9.30 and they were queueing out the door , why I have no idea they don't sell much food only meat balls and hot dogs !! wonder if they have a sale on ? didn't look at the web site, even so never seen it busy like that on a Tuesday morning

We will go another day no hurry just wanted some Napkins I still have two pks .

From there we went to Aldi again didn't bother going in because of the queues again ,
A man said they were allowing 4 pks of 9 loo rolls per customer but people were coming out empty handed as they were all gone , now if they had said 2 pks that's 18 loo rolls more people would have gotten them ,

We only wanted Cream and chicken , it can wait.

Its a bit scary how people are reacting , I can imagine if you have children its a worry having enough to feed them though isn't it .

Kind of you and OH to keep an eye on your elderly neighbour Nana. I know my mum would not manage without my (at least) twice weekly visits.
A neighbour of hers in her mid 80's lives alone, with no family at all. She manages well and still drives. I think I will pop a note though her door when I am next at Mum's, with my phone number in case she can't get out.

          Going out is depressing
Tesco looks as though we are about to go to war. No loo rolls, not that we need any, no soap at all, no painkillers, no tinned spaghetti, and very few other tins. Very sparse amount of cereal. No ground coffee. This is the big Tesco. Everyone I saw was shopping normally,as I was. Who are these morons who sweep everything off the shelves? I guess they are there early. Rant over.

I went to Dunelm and got my mum a touch lamp, 2 bulbs to go with it, and some chocolate, and a card. That is her sorted for Mothers Day. She will hopefully be coming here on Sunday.

I have two theatre trips booked this month. One with friends, one with GS2. I'm sure we will go to neither. Poor GS2

Gem SIL wanted to take us out on Sunday but we decided not too then he said he would cook us all Sunday lunch but until we are sure GS1 has just a cold we are in limbo ,

OH gosh I have just realised , B has gone to his Mams to sort her internet and forgot her card and gift so we will have to go again before Sunday

Gem - how kind of you to think about your mum's neighbour as well. It must be quite frightening if you're totally alone and can't go out. I hope your mum likes her touch lamp - I'm sure she will appreciate how easy it is to use. What a pity about your theatre trips, especially GS2 when he's already had his 4th birthday plans ruined.

Oma - I'm really worried about your napkin situation! I hope you can get some soon. I can't understand why Ikea is so busy though. They have currently got 30% off kitchen fronts for Family members, and cheap breakfasts - 6 item breakfast for £1 so perhaps that was the cause of the morning rush!!! I'm sure B's mum won't mind an extra visit before Mother's Day.

It must be a nightmare for the supermarkets trying to cope with unprecedented demand like this, and then of course, when everyone wakes up and finds the crisis is over and they've got a house full of tins and loo rolls they won't want to shop for months!

Plant - Yes! isolation at Nanto's sounds a brilliant idea (although Nanto might not be so keen!!)

Enfys - I hope you get your grass cut ok. Ours is still wet this morning, but I cut it a couple of days ago. I needs doing again though.

Daisy, grass all cut, just need to do the edges. But that’s for tomorrow. I’m pacing myself 🙂. It was lovely out there first thing this morning but really chilly now with a biting wind.

DH is internet shopping.......he wants to get a garden stool with wheels. I didn’t know they existed but there’s so many out there. Thank goodness for the Internet.

Enfys, the man who lives opposite us has one of those stools on wheels for his gardening.

Enfys - the garden stool on wheels sounds a brilliant idea. I've got one of those seat/kneelers which are also quite useful when the knees are creaking and the back protesting. Yes, it's got bitterly cold here as well.

Gemini, Life is full of disappoints for your GS1. Very kind of you to consider your mums neighbour might need some help.

Looking up the times of trains Nanto. Could I order one of your steak pies please. S

Sil is out cutting the lawn, he is doing it in stages.

Nana - sorry I wasn't ignoring you - I left off to answer the phone earlier on.

Your poor neighbour - it will be hard for her on her own.

I don't know where today has gone - but at this rate I'll need more than 12 weeks to get all my jobs and projects done! I did order a new little table for my summerhouse. The one I've been using is an old formic-topped kitchen table and all the formica has lifted round the edges. It will be brilliant to have a flat surface to use.
