Nana B's other sister is 5 minutes away too , its just the boys that live a drive away ,
Just as well I couldn't live near her I would be tearing my hair out either that or get done for murder hahaha

Just spoken to DS via Skype and he said : Mum, you know I'd come and do your shopping for you....... but I can't leave the country now!! All borders are closed and there's nothing flying in or out! His GF's Mum works in Austria and she's having to stay there now. DS and GF are keeping an eye on the house ( which is in the country) and the greenhouses ( they grow melons) and the animals. Luckily for them travel within the country isn't restricted...yet! He and his fellow employees are all now working from home. DB reports shortages of loo rolls, pasta and rice in his area of Scotland too!

Some of the younger villagers are offering to do shopping for anyone who has to self isolate, which is good to know. I hope it won't come to that especially as we've no family near enough to pop in and check. In our courtyard 4 out of the 6 residents are over 65.....it'll be interesting to see if the other 2 younger residents check up on us! Somehow doubt it, but I may be proved wrong.

      Raining here again!

We have a new lodger.......a squirrel seems to have taken up residence in the attic! Have heard scrabbling fro some time, but put it down to birds on roof. However, I heard it yesterday afternoon and next thing a squirrel appeared from under the solar panels and lay on the peak of the roof quite the thing. When I clapped my hands he disappeared under the panels again and didn't come out the bottom. So there must be a little gap somewhere that he's getting in. First call tomorrow...the pest control man!

Have a good evening ladies x

WG, IN our village also there are plans on the FB group for band of people to help the elderly, a nice touch.

Well, my mum was SO happy with the carpet we laid down in her sunroom for her, then we put her chair back in. It looks nice and you would think we had built her an entire house, not put down some old carpet She's happy, so that's good!

Gem, pleased your mum was happy with the carpet, and you know she was appreciative.

When i told hubby people over 70 may be quarantined, you should have seen his face.

It's busy on here today, and I've probably left it a bit late in the day to catch up properly!

Enfys - I'm glad P is ok and at least with the miserable weather today you've had an excuse to stay indoors and relax a bit.

Gem - how lovely that your mum's happy with the new carpet and having her chair back in the sunroom.

WG - yes, I do think that squirrel needs 'rehoming' - you don't want them/it nibbling through any wires. I hope your DS and his GF are ok, and they can continue to work from home for as long as necessary.

Nanto - what did your OH say about being quarantined?

WG, you really don't need a squirrel in the house.

Daisy, he didn't say much. I told him you can still work in the garden, he said thanks.
I know if he was confined to the house,he would go stir crazy.

                Off to in laws later.

Good morning, Nanto and all who follow. Love the pretty, cheerful flowers.

You'll have to get your OH's jobs lined up to stop him being bored! I feel very sorry for anybody who hasn't got a garden they can escape into - I would go stir crazy indoors all the time as well! I'm encouraging my OH to look on it as an opportunity to catch up on all the jobs we've been talking about doing 'sometime', or 'when we've got a bit of time', or 'one day'.

DIL2 rang last night and said would I rather not have the girls after school, but I think until we're told otherwise I want to see them, and will just take recommended precautions. If their schools are closed, then I'll think again. I'm picking Cooper up from the shop after 9 am, so not in quite such a rush this morning. I'll be back later.

โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹Oma - good morning to you as well. It's nice and sunny here after a cold start. Some microwaves are so complicated you need a degree in electronics to use them. I hope you find what you're looking for. Hello, Storm!!

Good morning. Lovely and sunny here at the moment. Hope it lasts so we can get outside.

We have dog today, although DGS is working from home, we are still having him, too much of a distraction otherwise.

                        Good morning all.

Today we are going to see my auntie. I checked with my cousin, her son, that it would be fine, and it is. The Bistro at the retirement complex has now opened so that is where we will have lunch. If it wasn't open we would take lunch, as I don't feel it's wise to take a 91 year old out and about at the moment.
Daisy that is my stance with looking after the GC too. I'm not having GS1 tomorrow, but that is because someone they were on holiday with has a fever, so as a precaution DD doesn't want me to risk passing anything to OH or mum. No one sees me as vulnerable, but I'm not complaining
Oma we got a new microwave last year. The one we had, which was OH's was an antique!!

OH says if our age group end up having to self isolate, we can finally sort out the loft. Something to look forward to then.

Have a good day everyone. Stay well. And sane

I must go and fill up my car with petrol today, if I get stir crazy I can at least then drive to a beauty spot. Not sure what is happening at bowls today, haven't heard that it is not happening but as we are all over 70 should we keep away. I am going to phone a fellow bowler.

I think you are very wise Enfys keeping a distance, just hope for some decent weather then we will all have the tidiest gardens ever.

Very difficult Daisy and Gemini when you have commitments for picking up GC, I am sure the family are worried for you but of course you want to see your GC. DD and Sil were going to hold GGS birthday party here on Sat. but DD is not keen and hope it will be postponed.

Lovely and sunny here so going for a bike ride to nowhere! DIL just phoned to ask if I needed anything doing, I told her I have enough in, I will go to the Lidl early tomorrow morning, if the shelves aren't empty. What a carry on! DIL was saying that their New York trip has had to be cancelled but she said she would rather be home then be stranded or whatever.

GD1 was on the phone, she said " what a carry on Nan, we had exams this week, now we will have to see what happens."

Morning everyone. Just had breakfast & catch up with some of you ladies in our GRU cafe. Lovely way to start the day.

OH gone golfing so there's me & the dog. Now what shall I do? Might do a batch of cooking for the freezer. Mince รท into shep's pie, sauce for bolognese & maybe a couple of small lasagne. Then on the other hand I might clean the kitchen. Hang on though there's that series on Catch- up I've been waiting to see. Yep, I think the latter wins. Enjoy your day ladies.

They have just phoned again and someone that works there lives in the village and they will drop them off at 6pm. That is good service.!!!!
