    Morning all

I hope to be back in the loop again after a few days of reading but not replying. Our niece arrived sooner than she originally said so it was all systems go. I think she thought she had let me know she was coming a few days earlier but she hadn’t I texted her on Wednesday to see what day she would be arriving and the reply was “tomorrow! “ . I was very lucky in being able to change my Tesco order( last available slot) otherwise we would have had no food.
She is heading off on the long drive to Scotland today.

I see things have been going fairly smoothly with everyone so I hope it continues and everyone enjoys the Bank holiday.

A special mention for your B Oma. I hope his back is better today.

Sun is shining so I must get the washing on Must also feed the birds. They clear the feeders every day eating me out of house and home

Very hot here 🌞🌞. We have been sorting out our packing ready for our little trip to North Devon tomorrow. Looks like the weather will be kind to us although it might be a bit cooler “up north” 😄. Not a long journey luckily and a nice civilised pick up time - 11 am.

I have stood our pots of New Guinea Busy Lizzies in Dexter’s paddling pool and will put some water in there so hopefully they will survive. In the shade too, then DD won’t have to bother too much with watering. The geraniums should be fine.

Otherwise a relaxing day for us, too hot to do much, so we’re making the most of it.

Hope your aged cat is just off his food because of the heat Gemini. Have a lovely BBQ with family.

Have a lovely trip to Devon Enfys.

Finished off the job I had started yesterday in the garden before it got too hot. Really tired now so put the fan on and will watch the cricket. I will venture out later.

I found a small disc in the back of of a drawer in my OH's desk. GS1 managed to find a way to access it and found it was the history of OH's time serving in WW2. I didn't know he had written this and had no idea he had put it on a disc. I have managed to read some of it, quite upset me really to read how many times he was close to the action. I want to get it printed when my GS can get my new printer working.

Plus the friend we had picked up didn't get back from holiday till 11 last night so she was shattered and was pleased we were coming away early gave her a excuse to leave with us as we were taking her home .

Plant what a piece of history and of your OH's life. Upsetting in a way , understandably. I do hope you can get it printed.
                Have a lovely holiday Enfys.

We had a very nice family day and barbecue.
Kitty is still off her food. She normally eats very well despite her age. We are tempting her with all sorts, and a bite or two at the most are the most she will have. Something is not right.

Oma - How lovely that you've got a whole new family with B's Nurse. I hope the Christening went well and the star of the day enjoyed it too. Vouchers are a good idea when you don't know what they want/need. Sorry I wrote that before I read your later post. Well done, little man on keeping your cool on your first big occasion.

Enfys - at least the coach will have air-con. Have a lovely, relaxing time. I'm sure the Bizzie Lizzies will be very happy in Dexter's pool.

Clover - well done on speeding up your preparation for your niece's visit when she came early! It's a long drive to Scotland - is she on her own?

Gem - Poor kitty - I do hope it's just the heat. If she's not eating she won't poo much either, but at least she's drinking. Even if she's just taking a little of what you offer, it's something. As you say, these things always happen on long week-ends. I hope the barbecue went well.

Plant - it must have been emotional to read about your OH's war experiences, especially if there were some things he had never talked to you about. I think the not talking about it was quite common though. My cousin who's just passed away didn't know until a few years ago that his dad was one of the first British troops into Bergen Belsen - and that was when he told a girl friend of D's.

Guess who had a 2-hour siesta for the second day running! We ended up not going to see GD1 until late afternoon, but at least it wasn't quite so hot to leave the dogs locked in the house - it was very warm for them, especially Bailey. GD had had an exciting day with lots of surprises and lovely presents. Needless to say I didn't get any washing done - maybe tomorrow!

Good morning Nan2 and witchy friend! Good morning everyone else.

Off to friends this afternoon, for a buffet get together in their garden. I'm not sure who else is going, but we have met all their friends.
Another jug of Pimms will be made by me

Little kitty hanging on. Still eating almost nothing, and drinking less than usual - less wees in the litter tray. Our boy cat goes outside, so we can monitor what she produces. She ate/drank a little chickeny yogurty sachet with some enthusiasm this morning, having refused cat food, tuna and all but one small morsel of chicken. Just hoping to keep her hydrated and comfortable until we can get her to the vet tomorrow.

Enjoy your day ladies, make the most of the sun, but don't get too hot!

Good morning ladies,it was a scorcher yesterday for sure. Cloudy here this morning but supposed to clear by midday. I did my ironing yesterday and thought I would pass out with the heat and steam, had front and back doors wide open. Guess who got hubs to pack the fan away last week 🙄.
Daisy hope your feeling better for your Granny naps, bodys way of saying you needed rest.
Glad the christening went well O a and that B's back is easier today.
Enyfs have a lovely time in Devon, where are you staying ?
Plant how lovely to come across your OH war record, very emotional for you but what a lovely thing to find.
Gem hope your cat soon perks up, don't think our pets like this heat mine don't for sure. The excessive panting from mine is scary sometimes even though there is water always available.
Clover enjoy your time with your niece.
Going to have a quiet day today, B cleaned all the soffits at the front of the bungalow yesterday in the heat, I was chief ladder holder 😁. T still in hospital has to have a life scan now, concerns re liver function. Oh well another worry to add to the list.
Have a good day all and keep cool.

Good morning everyone - another hot day for us, too.

I might try and catch up on washing today, but nothing else. Tomorrow I'm looking after the GDs and Cooper at their house - Bailey and Cooper aren't the best of friends so I don't want to have them all here. If it's like this I bet the girls will spend most of the day in the paddling pool!

Gem - I'm glad kitty has had a little - the chickeny yoghurt sachet sounds light but nourishing. Will she take plain live yoghurt? If she's not drinking enough can you syringe tepid water into her mouth? Just very small sips as often as she'll let you?

Oma - guess what - Ducky has taken a turn for the worse! We always hide her when Cooper's here, but Bailey isn't so boisterous and he'd had the full run of the toy box. But this morning he's very gently removed her beak and taken out a load of stuffing! Fortunately, he doesn't eat it - he just takes things apart.

Oh poor Ducky Daisy, was Eva cross with him?

Oma and Libra ironing in this heat, you must be mad. Just take things easy and relax.

Libra, so sorry to hear DD is still in hospital but perhaps it is the best place as they don't seem to look after her properly in the Nursinh Home.

Hope the vet can put their finger on what is wrong with your poorly cat Gemini

                            Have a lovely holiday Enfys.

I am not going to tackle any jobs today, very quiet here without the family. GD2's 24 birthday today, she is spending it in Yorkshire with boyfriends family. Her parents are there too.

Stay cool everyone and enjoy the sunshine

All packed and ready for the off 🙂.

sorry to hear about DD, LG. It’s one thing after another, isn’t it. We are staying in Barnstaple, the hotel is right on the river and we have booked a river view room.
Daisy, poor ducky. Dexter always disembowells any new toys he has. We now have just the bodies which he loves....bits of rag really😄

Gem, poor little cat, always so sad when they are ill.

we are waiting to be picked up, just need to give the plants a final water and a final check to see we haven’t missed anything. As long as DH has all his meds, insulin etc anything else won’t matter if we miss it.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, stay cool 🌞🌞🌞👍🏼
