We didn't get the storms but had a bit of rain just after 9.30 last night.

Been popping in but not posting as it’s been a stressful time in this house and I couldn’t think of anything positive to say. Feeling better now though. Overcast and cooler here this morning. I made the huge mistake of washing pillows in my machine on Monday! One would not spin even though I beat it half to death to get the air out. Still airing the b****r! Now that was exciting wasn’t it?

Ha! It’s raining now, and OH is going on a golfing jolly. Oh dear.

Good morning everyone. Nanto - I might escape from cooking duties today as well. Lovely thought, isn't it!

We had rain overnight but it looks like a fine day so far.

I hope Enfys is getting nice weather too - their forecast wasn't so good, but I'm sure they're enjoying the break anyway.

Oma - life seems like on long zoo sometimes, doesn't it! I realised at dog training last night that that was the first time I'd devoted time to Eva on her own for about 2 weeks. We've got Bailey for the rest of this week then next week it will be Cooper having sleepovers Monday to Wednesday!

Gem - I hope kitty is still making progress, and hopefully it will be a little cooler for her today. xx

Grauntie - poor you, it sounds as though you could have done with having a bit of a rant - it can do you good and is cheaper than a bottle of gin! xxx Washing pillows isn't for the faint hearted (not that you are f-h'ed). They either go lumpy, won't dry, wreck your washing machine or, worst of all, burst!

We have an exciting morning ahead - sorting out my cousin's bank accounts - but OH has promised lunch out, so that will make a nice change.

I hope the appointments are over and done with quickly Oma. OH is at her dental appointment now. She forgot to go last time and had to rebook, so we were paranoid we would both forget again today! I did, but she remembered.
Grauntie, I'm so sorry things have been stressful (and don't forget you are always welcome here even if what you say isn't positive!) I had noticed you were quieter than usual. I'm glad you are feeling better now.

This morning is my monthly reflexology treatment. It has only been 3 weeks this time as she will be on holiday next week.
This evening I was due to eat out with 2 friends, but one has a tummy bug so we will reschedule.
This afternoon we are doing a strange thing. Our large paddling pool has a slow leak in the top tier from when darling now departed puss stood to look in and pierced it with her claws last summer - just after we got it! We have repaired it more than once, but never seem to get quite the right spot or spots. When we use it we have to pump it with the electric pump several times a day to stop it going down too much and water escaping. OH's cunning plan is to go to my ex's, while the pool is still up after the weekend and immerse ours to discover the leak (s) Luckily they don't seem to find this odd at all It s about a 45 minute drive to theirs so that is our trip out today!

It rained a lot here overnight. A bit overcast and cooler this morning which is welcome. Kitty performing more on the litter tray and although not eating normally, a lot better than it was.

Lovely to hear from you Grauntie, missed you although you were playing Word. I did think I was surprisingly winning more games, perhaps due to you feeling stressed. I am finding it different now. Keep bashing those pillows.

I don't think we had any rain last night, I slept like a log as it was a bit cooler. Family back from Yorkshire, they had a lovely time and it wasn't too hot for walking and visiting places. Not sure what to do today, I know the SR and BRoom probably need a dust but I can't see any dust and thought the kitchen and bathroom floors could do with a wash, they look okay. Dishwasher needs emptying, I will do that. Need to iron some material for a patchwork project, I will do that. That is decided then.

Hope things improve for kitty Gemini, we don't like to see our pets poorly as they can't tell us how they feel. Hope the pool gets mended

Your house certainly must feel like a Zoo Daisy, good luck with the accounts and then have a nice lunch, you both deserve it.

As much as you love Storm Gemini, it will be nice to have a break.

It's tried to rain this morning but the sky is very black so we are expecting a down pour very soon.

Clover we are also expecting a delivery today also . OH ordered some grass seed yesterday .... life doesn't get more exciting than that does it

On the local radio this morning they are discussing the cost of sending your child back to school which when they total the amount up its a huge amount of money , but they are just quoting the average spend for the children aged 4 - 11 . They have left out the 11-16 year olds which is the most expensive to buy for.
I am so pleased I don't have to worry about that any more !

Grauntie how are the pillows, are they dry yet, they are little blighters to get dry aren't they

Up at some unearthly hour to pick up DS at Stansted. Plane landed early and by the time I'd bought him a lighter ( he's a smoker and usually forgets he's carrying a lighter at customs and has to hand it over!) there he was! He's done some work and is now asleep on the couch!

Muggy again today after overnight rain.

Need to summon the energy to get the ironing before it grows into a mountain! Making a chicken curry for dinner.

DD is visiting one of 'her' hotels in Cambridge tomorrow so meeting her when she's finished for a quick catch up. We don't see enough of her these days. But young people seem to lead such busy lives that we have to fit in when the opportunity arises.

Glad puss is on the mend Gem. I never want to eat much when it's very warm so there's no reason why animals aren't the same.

Have just taken some old pillows to the tip......can't remember ever washing them! Hope your's are dry now Grauntie!

I hope the deliveries come sooner than later Clover. It's a pain having to wait in.
Mimi, it is expensive kitting children out for school, but I do think its cheaper than it was. We had to go to uniform shops, whereas now all supermarkets do uniform ranges of the basics, really cheaply. Considering how they grow out of them, I would be happy to buy cheap!

I had a nice reflexology treatment and chat. We chat about my GC, and her baby, now 10 and a half months.
It's dark and cloudy out, I think more rain must be on the way.
My friends who I was meant to going out with tonight are both going on holiday soon, so the next date all 3 of us can do is 25th September!
OH brought in some different (expensive) tempting foods for the cat this morning, and she likes them (for now, cats are notorious for going off things at a moments notice) So things are looking up on that score!

Mimi I wouldn't like to buy uniforms either , GS1's school ditched Blazers a few years ago they only have sweat shirts ,
GS2 starts comp in September and they have to go to a specialist shop they must have the school logo on everything and the school wont allow outlets to use their logo and sell stuff cheaper .

We found the hole in the paddling pool. Hilarious task it was too!!
I was so very glad we went as when we were there ex OH had a call from his best friend, calling in en route from Scotland (where he lives) to Hull, and was arriving in 5 minutes. We had a cuppa and chat and good catch up. It made my day to see him again and give him some big hugs. He lost his dear wife after a long battle with cancer last year. This was the first time I had seen him since, though we had been in touch. So lovely to see him.

OH cooked us a lovely tea tonight pork tenderloin in mushroom and mustard sauce, mash, and veg. Delicious, I could eat it all again! It certainly made us for my night out being cancelled.
