Want to do a job in the garden so must get started soon before it gets too hot, it will be in the shade. Had a very interesting talk at our local National Trust Group it was a talk about Medical Detection Dogs and Medical Assistant Dogs. They save the NH thousands of pounds but it is all voluntary. The medical detection dogs are looked after by people at home and taken to do their jobs at a medical centre to smell samples for detecting cancer and the medical assistant dogs are trained at the centre, then they live with the person who have serious illnesses such as serious Diabetes.

Storm is very good adjusting to changing homes Oma.

Nanto, loved the graphic, enjoy your day not doing too much.

Enfys, so pleased P is enjoying himself helping others. I shall miss my G&T friend in Birmingham.

      Good morning everyone.

Nan2, I hope you get the ironing done before it gets too hot. It's hot work!
Daisy, don't overdo the gardening, in this heat especially. You need a rest xx
Oma we are child-free yes! We will see them all tomorrow at my ex OH's, but their parents will be there, so no work involved
Enjoy the carnival Libra, good weather for it.
Don't get too hot and tired Plant.

Hot already here, not sure I can face delivering the newsletters!
An unplanned day today, which is nice. Apart from getting to the library bus before it closes at 12.30.
      Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all, very hot here already! Plantaholic, I have seen those dogs on TV and all they can do. To all the gardeners, stay out of the hot sun!!! I have had a bike ride to get some flowers, anthuriums, there is a grower not far from here and they have a shop, lovely to visit, I am allergic to so many flowers but not these. On the way there I also got free range eggs and some strawberries so I have spoilt myself. DS1 will be home this week, not sure if it is Wednesday or thursday but will get them some flowers before they arrive. DS2 is on his way to Austria and Italy, he is a very keen cyclist and goes as guide/leader with a group of cyclists every year, I think it was France last year, he loves it, there are 2 of them and take it in turns to drive the van from one hotel to the other then the other day they get their cycling in. I won't be going out now until maybe this evening to my DS1's house to see how the plants, hamster etc are! Enjoy the weekend, bank holiday with you, we have finished ours now, next one is Christmas.

Good morning all. It’s a hot day here , in fact I was sitting outside and it got to hot for me and I had to come indoors, not that I am complaining mind !

Before I forget, saw this on Facebook this morning, Google Wizard of Oz, click on the red slippers, then the whirlwind . It’s the little things in life .....

DS was coming to stay for a few nights before he starts his new job on Wednesday but they rang and asked could he start a few days earlier in the shop next door as they are short staffed .

How is everyone , I’ve not been on here for a few days so I need to catch up on the gossip.

          Have a lovely weekend everyone

Yes,all the gardeners, take care if outside.
Not a day for outside unless you are in the shade.
Hubby pottering(sorry, tidying) the garage out again.
He's got the doors open and its shady in there.
Just a bit of gentle tidying round for me.
I got my ironing done before we went to the supermarket.

We eventually stirred ourselves to go and fetch Eva and ended up having lunch in the garden with DS2 and family. GD1 is super-excited - she'll be 9 tomorrow. How time flies.

We came home and I fell asleep for 2 hours! but I've since cut the lawn and trimmed the edges and pulled up a few weeds.

Oma - did you get the wardrobe doors on ok?

LG - I know what you mean about GW!! Did you enjoy the carnival - it was a beautiful day for it.

Plant - that talk does sound interesting. A dog's sense of smell is unbelievable.

Gem - have you enjoyed your unplanned day?

Mimi - best of luck to DS for his new job. I do hope he settles into it quickly and enjoys it. the first few days are always a bit nerve racking, aren't they.

Nanto - it sounds as though your OH is doing a good job tidying up the garage!

Just off to cook dinner - it was too hot earlier.

Daisy, you must have needed that sleep.
I had quite a 'chilled' day Breakfast in the garden , then I went to the library. I did some light hoovering and steamed the kitchen floor. That was quite enough work for a hot day! OH cut the lawn and did a bit of garden tidying, otherwise we relaxed. We ate our tea outside it was still so warm.

Got quite a lot done early although I don't think the temperature was as high as they forecast, I didn't need my fan on.

Daisy yes got them on , it was so hot though it seemed to take twice as long to do anything ,

We had to turn the carpet back slightly so now have to wait till SIL comes home from Holiday to cut it and fit it back , but at least the room is tidy again ,, Just the top strip between ceiling and top rail to box in ,

B's back is hurting so we both up having a hot drink ,

He cant do these types of jobs quickly now even though it wasn't difficult he still had prep to do on them putting new rails top and bottom not easy when you cant get down easily or up again for that matter, he ended up having to lay on the bed for a while till he could move again bless him

We at a Christening today (Sunday ) so any other bits will be left till maybe Monday /Tuesday its the spare room so no hurry

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma,hope B's back is feeling better today.Enjoy the christening.

Just an easy day for us i think. Going to clean conservatory before it gets too warm.

Good Sunday morning everyone. It's already warm here - perfect for me but I know a lot of people feel drained when it's this warm.

Oma - I hope B is taking things easy today after your disturbed night. When your back hurts everything hurts, so all credit to B for doing what he's done on your wardrobe doors. Enjoy the Christening. Is it one of your new babies in the family?

I need to get some letters written today, plus a couple of birthday cards. I might get some washing done as well. When you go away even for a couple of days it seems to pile up very quickly. Later on we'll go over to see GD1 and take her birthday presents. I bet she was up at the crack of dawn - she was excited yesterday! Her dad was teasing her, saying how much he was looking forward to today because it was a special day - the British Grand Prix!!

                            Have a good day everyone.

                                Good morning ladies.

                                Cute little mouse there Nan2!
Oma, I hope B's back eases soon and you enjoy the Christening.
I hope your GD has a lovely day Daisy, I'm sure she will

A visit to my mum early afternoon for me (she doesn't really do mornings!) Then a family barbecue at my ex OH's. All the family are going, with the possible exception of SIL1. We are looking forward to it. I am making a big jug of Pimm's to contribute.
Our 19 year old cat hasn't eaten much for the last few days. The daily 'poos' dropped to alternate days this week, and today is the 2nd consecutive morning with none. She seems to want to eat so it could be her teeth. She is drinking. We keep trying all sorts of food. I read kitten food (slightly warmed in the microwave) may tempt so I will buy some of that this morning. I will take her to the vet on Tuesday. These things will happen on long weekends!

Have a good Sunday, whatever it holds.
