    Good morning ladies.

I'm glad you had a reasonable sleep Nan2. 4.30 is early though!
Nana, I was thinking of you and wondering about your trip to York. Saving for a longer trip is a good idea. York will still be here when you plan another visit
Oma, WG mentioned maybe meeting up at the Christmas lunch in York too
Daisy I hope OH's eye is more comfortable today, and your doggy/grandchild day goes well.

It is a nice sunny morning here.

OH playing golf this afternoon. This morning we are both going to see my auntie, and find out if she has a moving date yet. If there is anything on at the cinema I fancy I may go this afternoon. I must also type up those minutes I wrote out when I had no laptop!

    Have a good day everyone.

Bright morning, I have friends coming for a sandwich lunch later, they are visiting Stoke Mandeville hospital and are popping in on their way home. Unfortunately I am having trouble with toothache, seeing the dentist tomorrow. We shall be losing our lodgers on the 4th September, they will be completing on their house that day but might move the next day.

I hope B can get to see a doctor soon Oma

Hope your GC and dogs are able to be in the garden Daisy.

I am waiting for the film of the life of C S Lowry to come to our cinemas. Nothing on at the moment I want to see Gemini.

          Morning.

Plant I hope you can get your tooth put right tomorrow and it’s not too troublesome until then. I hope you have a nice lunch with your friends. Once the sandwiches are made it’s a nice easy meal.
The mention of Stoke Mandeville takes me back to my nursing days. I did a lot of my training at SM. Of course it’s obviously changed tremendously since my days there.I can still see all the wards, departments etc. in my mind’s eye as if I was there last week especially the corridor where we used to wait to see Matron with nervous requests for holidays and the kitchens I was sent to to get ham for the doctors’sandwiches when Sister gave them tea in her office. I had a crush on one of the kitchen assistants.

Oma I hope B can get a doctors appointment soon. DS 2 has Crohn’s disease which is similar to colitis so I know a bit about how he feels.

Nurse Daisy seems to be doing a stirling job, apart from requesting the patient to do hard manual work

Sunshine and expected showers here today.I’ve been trying to sort out a room adjacent to the kitchen that is too respectable to be called a shed but not posh enough to be called a utility room. Lots of spiders but luckily they don’t bother me.

          Enjoy your day

Plant, I hope you get your toothache relieved soon. Toothache is horrible.
Clover, you should tell us more about your nursing days in the About Me section. I'm sure we would love to hear about it.
Good to hear B is suffering less today Oma.

It was all going on at auntie's house this morning! Removal van and her DS's car outside. Front door open. Her DS, DIL and 2 removal men were in the bungalow, as well as auntie.
She is due to move on Thursday, but the contracts have not yet been signed (some hold up lower down the chain) Today a removal firm were packing and boxing everything which is not going with her, and taking it to charity or landfill. They will come back on Thursday, all being well, and pack up and move the rest. Hopefully the move will take place on Thursday, so fingers crossed next time we see her will be in her new home.

Well the heavens opened just before 2.

Clover, that is interesting that you did your training at SM. It is still famous for it's work with spinal injuries.

Oma that’s lovely news Oma. Glad all doing well.

Gem it’s all steam ahead at your aunties. I hope the move goes ahead successfully on Thursday.

The rain has held off apart from one light shower so washing dried quickly in the breeze.

It was nearly my GS2's name, it was between that and his actual name, for a while Elliot was the forerunner.

                            The minutes are typed up

Oma - many congratulations to Elliot's mummy and daddy. I bet the last 9 days have seemed endless to mummy. I hope b can get an appointment at the doctor's soon.

Plant how is your toothache - better I hope.

Clover - yes, I'd love to hear about your memories of your nursing days. I always remember one nurse friend of mine (not at SM) who said they always got breakfast in bed when they were on night duty! Of course, I don't think there are nurses' homes in hospitals these days.

Gem - is Auntie excited about her move? I do hope it all goes smoothly. Fingers crossed the contracts get signed and exchanged on time.

OH's eye is improving and he can go back out into the big wide world tomorrow after his 48 hours indoors. We forgot he wasn't supposed to go out and this afternoon he put Cooper back in the car when I was going home! Still is wasn't very sunny and it was just a few seconds.

It's been a busy day here, but the girls entertained themselves for about an hour this afternoon. They like to shut my study door and goodness knows what they get up to but everything's still standing! They enjoyed going to feed our neighbours' cats, but neither Cooper not Eva were very impressed when they came back after lots of cat-cuddles!

Another busy day ahead tomorrow, so I'm off to bed. Night night everyone. xx
