Plant - it must be good to have the family back home - it's been very quiet, hasn't it! Resist the housework - step back, sit down and enjoy your new project instead.

Clover - did your parcels arrive ok? I had an unexpectedly early parcel today - I ordered new Crocs late on Monday night and they arrived today! We were out, of course, but they were left with a neighbour which was fine.

Mimi - new grass seed - life doesn't get more exciting than that.

WeeGranny - I hope you catch up on your sleep after your early start. Still, it must be nice to have DS home for a while.

Grauntie - how are the pillows doing?

Gem - I'm so glad kitty is eating a bit more. Cats can be very fussy, can't they. Eva doesn't seem to go off the foods she likes - and there's not much she doesn't like. I just take it for granted she'll devour what we put in front of her!

Children seem to need so much for school these days. Even 5 years old GD2 staggers off every morning with lunch box, water bottle, book bag, extra clothes 'just in case' we have a downpour or a sudden heatwave. I hope she never wants to learn to play the cello!!

Sun shining but much cooler. Aqua this morning then I must sort out this fabric and get it to a friend who is going to cut it up for me. It is going to be a (sorry Daisy) Christmas table runner. It is a group sewing project starting in October. I have been trying to buy a white cardigan for some time, none in JL or next, I have looked on line, they are either cream or much too short. Haven't tried the shops in our local small town, there are some independent shops there. I have ordered one from Debenhams but not too hopeful. Aqua this morning.

That was a lucky chance meeting with an old friend Gemini. Pleased the pool is mended, hope you get to use it again. that sounds my sort of meal Gemini, does S make her own mustard sauce?

Good morning Nan2, Plant and Oma. Good morning later comers

I haven't decided what we will eat tonight yet Nan2. We have a big avocado and lots of salad, so maybe something to go with that!
You would think a white cardigan would be easy to find Plant, wouldn't you? Yes OH made her own sauce. I think it was a BBC recipe.
Oma, we are cat sitting for neighbours too this week.

It was sunny here earlier, but a little duller now. It is certainly cooler than those very high temperatures most of us had over the bank holiday.
Shopping and banking for my mum, then visiting her are my plans today.

            Have a good Thursday everyone.

Good morning everyone. It's lovely and sunny here, but not so hot.

Both dogs are still tired after a good run in the paddock last night. Not that Bailey runs - he trots sedately!

Oma - I love it - I had no idea there was such a thing as a neater pile of rubbish. I do wish you lived next door and had time on your hands. xx

Plant - you're not the only ones thinking about that event in December. When I opened September's Garden magazine (RHS mag) a leaflet for seasonal cards fell out! Honestly, it was about 30C and the children haven't even gone back to school yet (except Scotland, I suppose). It's often the so-called basic things that are hard to find, but even so, a white cardigan shouldn't be too hard. I think shops don't really listen to what ordinary women want to wear.

I don't usually plan meals too far in advance but I've got a gammon joint that I must cook today, so I'll put that on to boil/simmer ready for tonight. We can have it with salad - lots of baby tomatoes in the garden now.

Enfys - I'm not sure how long you're away for, but I hope the weather's holding up for you.

Good morning all. Just popping on quickly to say Hi. Hope all is well with you. Weather has been ok apart from yesterday when it rained all day and we were visiting Rosemore Gardens ☹️. Otherwise all has been very good. Of course, we have eaten far too much 😀 but have slept well and walked a far bit. Just getting ready for our last trip out, going to Exmoor for a drive around the. On to Lynmouth and Lynton. Two pretty little towns right in the coast, they have a cliff railway joining them so we’ll be going on that too. Should be a nice day, sun is shining 🌞.

We have a lovely view from our window across the river looking towards the town.

Hope you all have a good day 🌞

Enfys - what a pity it rained on your trip to Rosemore - I'd love to go there one day. Lynton and Lynmouth are so quaint, and I think the cliff railway is amazing - so clever yet so simple.

                    Good morning busy ladies.
Sun is shining here after drizzly start.I’m going to hairdresser this afternoon so hope it stays dry.

I’m a bit fed up as only one of my parcels arrived yesterday after both being promised. The second is due today ,maybe after I leave for the hairdresser so I hope A) OH hears the bell and B) he copes with the delivery.
The parcel that did arrive didn’t come till late afternoon so we had to wait in all day. THEN when I unpacked it parts were missing. I rang and told them but the missing parts can’t be sent separately so I’ve got to have a whole new parcel,Then when the courier comes I’m to open the package ,take out the parts I need and give the rest back to him I’ve had to arrange Saturday as I am at work tomorrow morning and G would never cope. This will mean another day of waiting in.
In case you’ve wondering it is a cheap bookcase I’ve bought to put my collection of Build a Bears on. I know,I know I’m mad to have collected them and kept them ( well I am in DD’s eyes ) but I can’t “bear “ to part with them

I must have a snack soon as I have to leave at 12. I leave OH some sandwiches on a tray in front of him

Plant Sainsburys have several kinds of white cardigans in. I bought two thinish plain ones but they have some nice thicker ones in. Have a look online at them

Lovely to hear from you Enfys!

That is so annoying for you Clover
I don't think having a shelf for the Build A Bears is silly. Whatever makes us happy (and is legal LOL) is fine

I have done some of that cleaning stuff this morning, and hung out washing. Lunch break now, then to do mums shopping etc.

Lovely to hear about your holiday Enfys. sorry to hear if rained for your trip to Rosemore, lovely garden. We spent part of our honeymoon in Lynmouth (the lower one on the water) that was not long after that awful disaster.

Thanks for that Oma, I will look online but we do have a Sansburys quite close, I might pop in tomorrow.

Plant, i want a white cardigan as well. I bought 2 from Damart a few weeks ago.
1 pink and 1 supposed to be white, but its what i call an off white.

Enfys, lovely to hear holiday is going well, despite the rain yesterday.

Clover, sorry to hear about the parcel fiasco. A bookcase for your build a bears sounds lovely.
I ordered 3 t-shirts last week, for Christmas presents, and they have all arrived now.

Gem,glad the pool is mended. Lovely to have a catch up with the friend.

Went upstairs this morning,to put the ironing away, and decided to tidy my wardrobe.
Found 3 skirts that i had forgotten i had bought.

Clover - how annoying that you waited in all day yesterday and didn't really get either parcel sorted! I hope the one arrived ok today, and the bits for the other one arrive on Saturday. Why on earth didn't they tell you to accept the replacement and hand back the one with bits missing??? I don't think it's a strange buy either, Clover. Your bears have to live somewhere.

Nanto - finding skirts you'd forgotten about was a lively surprise. Are they summer ones so you can still get some wear out of them? I know you like to get organised but I am in awe - presents already.

Plant - I remember those awful floods - I was still at junior school and it was the first time that I realised how dangerous water could be. We were last there a few years ago, and you can look up the valley and picture the devastating torrent of water.

I didn't get a lot done today, apart from cooking the gammon which was much bigger than I'd thought, still we'll have a few days sandwiches out of it. I wrote some letters and did some pottering, but didn't have anything to show for it!
