Family seaside day today. We have been doing this trip with friends and various GC for 6 or 7 years now each August and have been lucky with the weather each time. Not so optimistic about today's weather! GD is on her way, and will stay with us tonight.

Good morning, Pouring with rain here and chilly too. Had the man round to do the garden yesterday, luckily the weather was ok, just a couple of very short showers. He made a really good job of it, it looks great now and I’m really inspired to get out there and keep it looking good.

Im out this morning to our WI craft group where we are learning tea bag folding. It’s a bit like origami so I’m looking forward to it.

Nan2, OH loves corned beef pie, he would be over to yours in a flash if he could , we are having lamb hot pot. I have noticed our meals are changing a bit as the summer season seems to be coming to an end

Raining here, I think I will stay in and find some jobs that need doing, who knows I might attack the ironing.

Never had corned beef and mash pie Nanto, I like corned beef.

I fancy soup for my lunch but I haven't got any in the freezer and none in the cupboard.

Well im back from Ikea but not with what I went for
I was after a new basket system for my wardrobes , Had a look around and seen the baskets and runners loaded up the trolley as I needed 5 drawers and 5 sets of runners ,

going to the checkout and they have a area called Bargain corner , a lot of ex display stuff , right in the corner I spied a tall set of 9 white drawers that would fit, so went had a look as I know they are £100 and I loved them but for inside the wardrobe I wouldn't pay that much ,

Well what do you know they were reduced to £50 half price , ,
So off i went for a bigger trolley and told B NOT to move away from them they were mine , took the baskets all back and loaded with the help of a Ikea man onto the flat trolley .a bit dusty but they have wiped down like new
Im so pleased we looked and it will save B having to fix runners etc to wardrobe and they were the same price as the basket set but 4 drawers more

I am now one happy bunny

Afternoon one and all a pretty miserable day here, so cleaning on the agenda not that it’s unusual.

Eldest g/ d is at Forest school club £40 a day 🤨 Twins are in Brugge with the other grandma and mummy overnight ferry there and back tomorrow
Oma a good bargain there, we have drawers in all our wardrobes it’s just easier really than shelves but we have to hang short things above it lol
I might not get on tomorrow I am out having nails and hair done , and last minute packing as we are viva Espana the next day , I don’t know when we will be back just bought outward flights will see how the work in the villa goes etc ,but will try to keep in touch

Oma, you did well, I love the Ikea bargain corner, I can cycle there in 10 minutes and like to look at the bargains! I went with a neighbour a few weeks ago and she got some lovely curtains for next to nothing.

I have been busy with plants indoors all afternoon, went to the garden centre for new pots as the sales start there today, I got what I wanted.

Enfys, I have seen the folded tea bags, I think Gemini will have done as well.

Hi again.

Well we had a good day but the weather not so good! The morning was OK and the girls (no boys this time) went into the paddling pool and then the sea, in swimsuits! They didn't stay in either long at all this time, for which I don't blame them. Then bundled back into clothes there was some digging and kite flying. Once the fast drizzles set in we packed up and walked up the hill to the fish and chip restaurant for lunch. Then to the next door amusement arcade to spend some 2Ps and keep dry. As is tradition next was the park and ice creams. Not long at the park though as although the rain was forecast to have stopped by then, it hadn't.
We drove back and all back to ours, where the girls went upstairs and devised and practised a dance routine, which they they showed us.
Just GD here now, watching some CBBC with us.
Qwerty, it's Filey, the summer holiday tradition with these friends their GC and ours.
