Hello everyone. We're back home after staying at DS1's overnight. OH and DS1 both loved the drifting. Oma's right, they drive round a bendy track, made extra slippy with water and do horrible things to the car to make the back end spin out or drift. They're specially adapted cars - not road legal. OH said it was great fun and not as hard as he'd anticipated! DIL and I had a relaxed chat over coffee and toast and then sat out in the garden and had a good old catch up.

Evan and Bailey, their Border Collie had a lovely time, and yesterday afternoon their neighbour's Vizsla jumped the fence to come and join in with them. She's a lot smaller than Cooper, but very sweet.

Nanto - pleased to hear your in laws are ok and you're pleased with the hairdresser's work.

Clover - I'm not being a pessimist, but the light went on our oven years ago and nobody can find a way of getting the cover off to replace it! I hope you have better luck.

Wee Granny - I hope you enjoyed your medicinal G&T after the nightmare roads.

Enfys - a little break would do you both the world of good. I haven't read about your GS yet, but I do hope he's ok.

Plant - it's going to be difficult keeping track of all your family with GS1 & Co staying there as well. I bet your drive is like a large scale Tetris game with all the cars.

Oma - your MIL must trust you to give you control over FIL's and her ashes when the time comes.

Gem - I do hope you enjoy your birthday meal. xx

I hope none of you have got the rain like us. its bouncing off the floor.

Daisy, pleased OH and DS1 enjoyed the drifting.

Hubby and DS1 go for a driving experience in July.
DS1 bought it for hubby's 70 th birthday last year.
They are both driving the same cars. A Lamborghini, McLaren and an Audi.
No idea which particular models though.

Daisy she knows we will look after him and when the time comes make them all toe the line and behave like adults ,
Out of the 5 siblings only B& M are close , 1 sister is a total idiot she's 58 and fights with everyone about anything , the other is 66 and a cold miss know it all and 1 brother they haven't seen for 33 years so not exactly a loving family .
I have never fallen out with any of them I just take them as they are even if I don't agree with them so she knows I will be the go between

M & B are so alike they the only two sane ones

          Evening each!
It’s been a lovely day here. DD2 and family came to wish OH happy Fathers Day, I fed them lunch and then we went to friends for lunch ourselves. (Long standing arrangement)They stayed and went to the sea front etc. We had a very jolly time too.
Heard from DD1 who has been to Idaho on a horsey holiday. She says it was the scariest, most exciting thing ever. On to Vegas now. This was for her 40th birthday. I think I cooked Sunday lunch for 20 for mine!
Enjoy what is left of the weekend ladies.

Good morning, Nanto and all who follow later.

Nanto - make the most of that sunshine. It's tipping it down here, and looks as though it's set for a while. I am so fed up with it, and there are jobs to be done in the garden before we go away on Wednesday. Today is my only free day! Still, there are worse troubles at sea, as my auntie used to say!

GM - I'm sure your OH was pleased to see DD2 & Co, but what a pity you had to cook when you were going out yourselves. DD1's 40th birthday treat sounds amazing. I know what you mean - I often seem to end up catering for the army on 'my' days! But at least we get to see those we love.

Oma - B's family sounds .... interesting? I'm sure you could write a bestseller based on them. Thank goodness B & M are so close. Yes, being an only one does have some compensations.

Whatever you're doing on this Father's Day, I hope you all have a good one.

                Morning all.

Oma, my mum was constantly falling out with her siblings and all lost touch many years ago. She didn't rate being part of a largeish family. My dad's (larger) family all got on so well though. It depends on the people doesn't it? I would have loved more siblings!
That sounds like a great holiday for your DD Grauntie.
I'm sorry it is raining there Daisy. If the forecast is to be believed it will be quite a nice day here.
Towels in the wash here too Nan2. We had that heavy rain when we went into town for the meal last night.

My birthday meal was fabulous, and we had a fun night
Today we are going on a family picnic. There is a village fete affair in the park very close my ex OH's house. Most convenient as if it is rains we are a short step away from the house! DD3 and OH are away this weekend, and GD and SIL are karate-ing. Apart from that we will all be there.

                Have a good one everyone.

Very miserable looking day here, going to DS and Dil for lunch. I hope it is dry tomorrow when GS and his family move, things have started to arrive here. GD2 home for the weekend for Fathers' Day, also with the usual mending job for me, which she needs today before she goes back to London.

Grauntie, that sounds like the sort of holiday my GD1 would like, your DD is having a great time.

Oma, strange how some families don't get on. Your Mil knows you and B will carry out her wishes.

                    Afternoon ladies

Well after a wet start the sun is now shining and things are drying up.There’s quite a breeze though . The sea looked quite choppy this morning.

Plant, enjoy your family day and lunch with DS. Though we rarely see DD these days she’s usually got some sort of mending/sewing job for me when we do.

Gem I hope it’s fine for your picnic but glad you’ve got a plan B

I hope all Dads, Grandads and Great Grandads have a lovely Fathers Day.

                      Hello lovely ladies ,
Started out very sunny and warm its now come over very black we in for a downpour

Went out for Breakfast with DD,SIL, his Parents ,GS1 and Storm ,
All had different things but all enjoyed it , even Storm had a Bacon sandwich , waitress couldn't believe it when she brought the sandwich and DD got his bowl out and broke it up for him she laughed and said he was a spoilt boy

We just went to Garden centre where they allow good behaved dogs and Storm is very good

A baby on the next table was desperate to get to him so her Daddy brought her over and Storm sat very still while she grabbed at him and mouth wide open tried to eat his nose
She got very excited and didn't want to leave him

DS text to say he will be over later I wont hold my breath it could be tomorrow knowing him

Plant I had 2 sisters and 1 brother and we all get on fine I love them dearly but B's side are a different kettle of fish , M & B are more like their Dad was the others are something else entirely , as Daisy said I could write a book

Daisy have you decided where your going ?

Gem enjoy your day I hope the good weather lasts some family's are strange arnt they

Good afternoon all. Hope all our dads out there are enjoying their day.

Younger DS and DIL called by this morning and I was amazed to discover that DS is now taller than OH . It’s not that DS has grown ( he is 42 so his growing days are behind him ) . Obviously OH has shrunk and when I stand next to him we are now the same height whereas he was always at least 3-4 inches taller than me .
I have to wonder why didn’t I noticed this before ?

We’ve had another day of heavy showers but at the moment it’s dry but it’s not going to stay like that for long judging by the black clouds heading our way !

Today we had our first meal of home grown potatoes. They were very tasty with lamb shanks and fresh mint . Yesterday I picked one strawberry that was ripe , all the others are still green .

Have a a good weekend, what’s left of it

Bring me sunshine in your smile.

What a good boy Storm is Oma!
Mmm, home grown potatoes Mimi! This morning OH brought in our first crop of raspberries of the year.

We had a lovely day. As rain was forecast around midday we had a message to meet at ex OH's and eat there first, then all go over to the park, to save having to pack everything up and dash back in case of rain This proved an excellent plan, it was sunny, no rain, and we spent a long time enjoying the sun in the garden and lovely food and a little Prosecco.
We then all went to the park with our camping chairs, the kids enjoyed the bouncy castle and swings. It got darker and darker and we decided to fold up our chairs and blanket and head back. Then the rain came. Then the hail. GS2 who had been happily sitting on blanket eating an ice cream was shrieking as we all ran along in the hail. Due to his worry about the rain spoiling it!! It was in the care of his auntie.
We dried out inside with a cuppa, GS finished his ice cream. By then of course the sun was blazing again!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their day.

Quite mild this evening. This is the first day this month,we haven't had the heating on.
Very sunny this morning, got all the towels dry.
About 3'oclock the heavens opened, and we had hail.
Gem, i see you all got caught in the rain.

Mimi, your meal with homegrown potatoes sound lovely.

Oma, all the family here get on with each other, except for one brother,my BIL,who doesn't have anything to do with any of us.
A few years ago, things were so bad,he even changed his surname.

Not sure if this will show here, but DD sent us this. This is just after we left the park and dashed to the house, which is a short walk away.
