    Nan2 you have been busy.
Auntie doing amazingly Daisy, I will update on the thread about her later!

I had to spend a lot of time getting my mum out of the '90 is too long to live and there is no point' mood. This alternates with saying how lucky she knows she is. As long as I sit and listen and to an extent join in with old stories I have heard a million times she is happy, so I do that a lot.
She was Ok when I left her and DD3 is going to see her on Saturday. I got mum to write it down and leave it where she can see it, it she will phone me at least once to ask me when she is coming.

Gem - it's very hard to coax someone out of a fixed way of thinking - you are very patient with your mum. It's such a pity she won't go out a bit more, but you can't make her. I hope this time she will be happy to see DD3 on Saturday.

Evening all you ladies , OH has cleaned the windows or some of them since the window cleaner has been , I’m ordering a blazer from M&;S now I’m over yesterday !
This afternoon as a treat I took OH to the cinema to see John Wickes chapter 3 with Keane Reeves, you May have not heard of it but my Dd introduced the film to us as she had watched the first 2 on firestick, so we did the same and was mesmerised by it, it’s all action and a bit far fetched but it takes you out of yourself, so we can’t wait for it on firestick so we went this afternoon even though it only came out uesterday😝
Mummy, Other grandma and twins flew home today , a busy weekend for me we have the kids all day Saturday as they are having school friends birthday party Sunday at which I’m helping
Nanto a busy start for you today.
Clover we are having the same problem with roads, resurfacing , a new Aldi going up at the bottom of road, thick mud on the roads and temp traffic lights it’s a nightmare getting off the estate, you have my sympathy .
Oma will be on her way home now .
Enjoy your day everyone what’s left of it .
Oohh yes Gem not long to Spain now, I’m playing it low key for the moment lol

Qwerty - it was a good idea to go out and see that film. A bit of far-fetched escapism is good for all of us. By goodness, y ou're going to have a busy week-end, but you will get to hear all about the twins' exciting holiday.

Oma will be on the last leg of her cruise tomorrow - they dock early on Saturday - and the forecast for tomorrow looks a bit dreary - lots of cloud, but hopefully calm seas!

I've spent an exciting evening preparing and portioning up dog food while OH was out at his Wood Turning Club meeting. Exciting life, eh!

Tomorrow is the funeral of the neighbour I mentioned who had moved away to a retirement home and within less than a month had died following a fall. It's at one of our village churches, so I'm glad we haven't got to travel up to Surrey where she had moved to. Then in the evening we're celebrating my friend M's birthday at another friends and she'll stay the night with us to save her driving. The other friends are only round the corner.

I'm hoping I can squeeze in a bit of gardening in the afternoon - the weeds are winning at the moment!

            Good morning. Raining this morning.

Sme of you have got a busy day/days coming up.

Gem, we have the same conversations with mam and dad sometimes.
We always say,i bet there are plenty in the graveyard that would swap with you.
I know that doesn't sound very nice, but it does bring them to their senses.

              Good morning GRU ladies!

A busy weekend coming up for you Qwerty

I'm glad you have the birthday celebration for your friend today Daisy, to counteract the funeral, as it were.

I'm sorry Oma's holiday is coming to an end, but will be glad to have her back!

Nan2, I hope your rain doesn't reach us. its dullish this morning, but no rain. I sometimes say to mum that her friend who can't walk unaided wishes she still could, and my dad who died at 86 after 18 months in a nursing home, wished he didn't have Parkinsons and lose his mobility (and never complained) Still her ear is the worst thing anyone has ever had!!

GS2 day. If is stays fine I want to take him for a walk to the field we pass on our way into the village . It's like a story book. A whole flock of sheep and lambs and one big bull, coexisting very happily. He loves animals so I think a leisurely look at these will please him! This afternoon OH is at the golf club so GS will come with me on the school run. Now he has graduated to the big boy car seat, this will be much easier
Tonight we are going to friends for a takeaway. Their son is OH's godson. It's his 12th birthday on Sunday, and this is part of his treats. We don't know which takeaway he will choose!

              Enjoy your Friday everyone.

A very quick good morning from me - we've overslept and the internet is going so slowly it would be quicker to post a letter! It's drizzling with rain and quite chilly - I'm desperately searching my wardrobe for something suitable for a funeral on a cold damp day. I don't have many clothes that aren't a bright colour.

                See you later.

Overcast and still windy this morning. DD is flying from Heathrow to join her OH who is in Barcelona (Company do) later, they will be back on Sunday evening. GD1 and her boyfriend are coming to stay to keep me company, so I will be cooking for them as they will be working. I am going to meet her later in Waitrose where she works to decide what they would like to eat. I think she is quite looking forward to come home for a couple of days. Daisy I just bought a few plants for the pots and I want to refresh the compost so there is a bag of compost in my boot, I shall ask GD's boyfriend to lift it out for me.

I am wondering how Enfys's OH is today, I do hope he is feeling better.

That field of animals sounds a lovely sight Gemini. Although it is quite rural in places around here I would have to go quite a way to find some lambs. I am sure GS2 will enjoy his walk. Hope your mum will feel okay to see her GD on Sat. Gemini

Enjoy the party on Sunday Qwerty, I am sure the twins will have a lot to tell you when they get back.

Clover, we are having a lot of re-surfacing done to our local roads, I have to check which one is closed before I leave the village.

Good morning. Thank you Plant, he is feeling better today. It hit him harder this time. One more session to go then another scan. We are going out to lunch today.

Gem, that walk with GS sounds like it will be lovely. My kind of walk.

I'm glad your OH is feeling a bit better Enfys, it must be tough on him. Lunch out will do you both good.
It will be nice to have your GD and boyfriend there I'm sure Plant.
I hope you managed to find something suitable to wear Daisy.

GS enjoyed the animals this morning. The railway lines runs behind the field and we have to cross the track at the level crossing to get there and back. We hoped we may see a train but we obviously went at the wrong time. I'm often stopped at this crossing in and out of the village in my car!

I think Daisy has a level crossing near her home. We don't have any this way, too much traffic.

Plant - you're right - we have a level crossing in the village and it's very busy - the mainline between Bournemouth and London, plus a branch line from our village to Lymington. It took us twice as long as it should to get to the church for the funeral today because of the traffic build up after the gates had been closed for several trains! We could see the hearse queuing up from another road. The funeral went as well as these things can. Our friend only had a small family and none of them live locally, but the church was pretty full, and as it happens there's a wedding there tomorrow and the church was beautifully decorated by the Flower Guild ladies. That was perfect for our friend who was a talented flower arranger. All the ladies were given a beautiful cream rose at the end of the service.

I'm sorry I can't stop and chat now, but I'm so pleased to hear P is feeling a bit better - I hope you both enjoyed your lunch, Enfys.

My friend M is on the way over and I need to pop into a neighbour who is just back from holiday and was upset to miss the funeral today.

                            Have a relaxing evening everyone.
