Good morning, Nanto. It's bright here too, and hopefully getting warmer.

The tomatoes were done to a turn!

Nana - lovely to see you. It's surprising how quickly the Chat box fills up, and sometimes it's impossible to keep up. I hope all is going well in the Nana-Home. xx

Hopefully, I'm going to get some gardening done today, after I've portioned up some food for the hungry hound.

Whatever the weather, I hope you all have a good Bank Holiday Sunday.

      Good morning ladies.

My DD3 is celebrating her birthday today in London with friends. She has woken up after a 10 hour sleep so that will help the jetlag!
Oh and I will have walk round to see some of the scarecrows in our annual village festival this morning, and I will drop in on my mum this afternoon.

      Enjoy your day everyone

Gem - I'm sure your DD3 will be too excited to even notice any remaining jet lag, bless her.

I hope the scarecrows have survived in this windy weather.

Morning all, hope the weather will be better today, we had hail, then sunshine, then hail with strong cold winds yesterday.

Hope the Omas are settled in their cabin and they have the lovely holiday they deserve. Well done Mr and Mrs Daisy for seeing them on their way, apart from the tomato fire.

Feeling sorry for DD and Sil last week, then DS2 turns up, Today they have GS1, his wife and GS are coming to lunch (I have been invited too) and GD1 and boyfriend are popping in later. So much for an empty nest. GS1 and family are hoping to move next Friday so Sil is going around to their house this morning to help getting things from the loft.

Lovely family re-union for you tomorrow Gemini, have a lovely time.

Thanks Plant! That should be a lovely family day for you today

Daisy, further down our road in a front garden is a biblical style shepherd scarecrow with a flock of sheep. We passed him when we went out for tea last night. The poor man was being blown around and was tethered with guy ropes!! It's a lot less windy today.

Morning ladies after I struggled to put the planters with the new potatoes in into the shed and cover the runner beans in fleece we didn’t get any frost here but our neighbour further down the road did , strange isn’t it.

I have been busy busy in the garden this morning attempting to control the honeysuckle that has gone berserk on our fence. It’s trailing over into our neighbours garden and she is looking forward to the lovely smell it tends to have .

Hope Mr and Mrs Oma had a good journey across the Solent . When we were on the Isle of Wight ferry it was a lovely calm day but that didn’t stop me from have a panic attack as soon as we left the harbour. I didn’t know I would react like that. Now the thought of going anywhere on water fills me with dread. It was a horrible experience.

Good grief Daisy do take care in the kitchen!

Have a lovely bank holiday ladies

Brrr, very chilly here today. DGD has just been over to say goodbye, she will be flying out later this afternoon. I was determined not to get upset so gave her a big hug and told her how proud I am of her...think she appreciated that. We will miss her of course, but what a fantastic time for her.

I still need to cut the grass, might do that this afternoon...or not!! DH is measuring up for deck lights! They had them at the house we stayed at last week and he wants to put some round our deck.....that man always likes to be busy, but I’m pleased that he feels well enough to do it.

Anyone watching Line off Duty.....last one tonight!! I asked Alexa who H was...she said, I know who H is but I’m too scared to tell you 😀

Enfys I also asked Alexa who H was and she said the same to me. I hope it’s not Hastings !
I listen to an interview on the radio the other day with the writer of Line of Duty and he said there could well be another one or two series in the pipeline. I hope they don’t drag the ‘H’ story line , I need to sleep at night, all this tension is doing my nerves no good

Gem, i bet you can hardly wait to see DD tomorrow. Hope she has a lovely birthday.
Been to see Dad on his birthday.
Before we went,i made 3 corned beef/onion and baked bean pies.
One in fridge for tomorrow and one in the freezer.
Took the other for in laws dinner tomorrow.

Just given the kitchen floor a good clean while hubby is out.
I've got a steam cleaner, but just washed it with a mop, seem to be able to get more oomph with it.
Weather not been too bad,sun and cloud.
                      Dried the washing anyway.

Instead of getting warmer today, it's got colder. A couple of hours ago I covered up my seedlings for the night it was so chilly.

Nanto - I hope Dad has had enjoyed his birthday, and he's sure to look forward to his dinner tomorrow. It's just about dried out bedding outside today.

I think it's a good job I'm not watching Line of Duty - I couldn't live with all the suspense.

Enfys - it's always hard saying 'goodbye' so I think you have been amazing, sending her off with a big hug and a lovely way of telling her how much you love her. Wishing her a safe journey, and lots of lovely (but safe) adventures in Oz. Did you get the grass cut? Deck lights would be lovely and it's great P is feeling so well.

Mimi - frosts can be very localised - a recent one caught just one small part of a hydrangea in our garden, the rest of it was fine.

Plant - I bet your DD loved having the buzz of family around again, after a few days of her empty nest.

Qwerty - I bet that lasagne went down a treat with the family.

Gem - I've got a lovely mental picture of the shepherd/scarecrow flapping about in the wind. Enough to scare the sheep, let alone the crows.

I didn't manage to get any gardening done after all - it was so chilly I didn't fancy going out at all. A friend called round for a cuppa, so we had a nice chat indoors instead!

Daisy, I’ve put the heating on, it’s so cold.

Yes I cut the grass, didn’t take long. P has ordered the deck lights, via Amazon so should be here tomorrow.

thank you for your comments, it’s so hard knowing the best way to do things but think it went well waving her off. I know DD will be in bits tonight.

Qwerty I hope the family all enjoyed the lunch.
We have had the heating on too.

We enjoyed seeing the scarecrows. There are some very good ones. Every year I say that over the 3 days we will do all 4 trails and see all the scarecrows. Watch this space next May!!
I had a cup of tea and nice chat with mum. She is having her ears syringed on Wednesday, I really hope it helps!

                                Our heating's on as well.

I'm sure you did exactly the right thing, even though it was so hard for you. Your poor DD, I can imagine how she must feel - but she should also be feeling very proud of bringing up such a delightful young lady and giving her the confidence to follow her dreams. Sending you both special hugs. xxx

Nanto - yes, it is lovely when friends call in for a chat and a cuppa.

Gem - It sounds as though the village is awash with scarecrows - it's lovely that so many people go to the trouble! I'm glad your mum was ok, and hopefully her ears will be better after being syringed.
