Good evening. It's been quite a nice day here, but windy and definitely not so hot!

Finally my study is getting back to what passes for normal!

Oma - you gadabout, you, all these evenings out. I hope you know what you're letting yourselves in for with the particular friends you mentioned!!! You'll be greeted with a duster and a bottle of Dettol!!! Awww, poor GD, she obviously loves you and misses you, but at least you can now picture them in their new house. Doesn't it make a difference to a family to have a bit more space.

Clover - I hope OH was ok while you were at the hairdressers. It's good if he can have a nap while you're out, but I can understand your anxiety. Sadly my OH isn't as keen on this decorating lark as he used to be, and it took me nearly 3 years to persuade him to shampoo the carpets. I think we'll have to try and find you a more willing handyman.

Plant - I'm so glad you're feeling ok now. Did you actually eat your MIL's dettol-flavoured cakes?

Enfys - at long last it's time for your holiday. Safe journey tomorrow - I hope the weather is kind and the traffic isn't too bad for you. I'm sure the break will do you both the world of good. xx

Good morning, and it's a sunny start to the day.

I posted last night about the thunder and rain, but it isn't there.
Probably forgot to click on reply.

Oma,you two have certainly got a busy social calendar at the moment.
Poor GD being so upset when you were leaving. Maybe if she saw you more often( i know this isn't easy) she wouldn't be as bad.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

          Good morning Nan2 and everyone.

          Bon Voyage to Enfys
I'm glad to hear the study is getting back to rights Daisy!

The sun is shining here at the moment.
GS2 day for me. His sister is going to Northumberland (lucky girl!) with her Mums best friend and her 2 little girls for couple of nights caravaning. They have done this before and a great time is had by all.
OH is going to walk around the golf course with her friends again this afternoon.

          Have a good day everyone.

            I Morning all.

Hard to imagine some of you have sunshine when it’s raining hard here

Oma how lovely for you to get to see DS’s new house and GD too of course. Bless her for not wanting you to go.It’s such a shame you can’t see her and GS2 even though they live reasonable close.

OH was fast asleep when I got home.I was tempted to have an hour shopping after the hairdresser but felt I had to get home ,The buses are only every hour and if the next one hadn’t turned up as sometimes happens I would have been really late.

            Off to work now.
            Enjoy your day .

Good morning everyone. It's dull and overcast here and none too warm, but I've got plenty to keep me busy in the house today. At least it won't be too hot for Enfys travelling to Devon.

OH is taking vast quantities of toys to the charity shop this morning - I hope the GDs don't suddenly want 10 piece jigsaws or wipe clean picture books. I've finally taken the plunge and got rid of the toy garage that we've both been falling over for the past 7 years! GD1 never plays with it, and GD2 scoots all the cars down the ramp and then looses interest. I think their daddy's hopes for petrol-head daughters have been dashed.

Gem - I'm sure S will enjoy her golfing friends' company today, but it must be frustrating for her just watching the action. GD will have a great time caravanning, I'm sure. I hope the weather's ok.

Oma - enjoy your anniversary today.

Nanto - I sometimes forget to hit Post Reply and then wonder where my post's gone.

Clover - our posts crossed. I'm so glad G was ok yesterday, but it's frustrating for you not being able to relax and enjoy a bit of 'me' time and browse round the shops. Could you treat yourself to a taxi occasionally now you haven't got the car? It would be worth it to know you could get home quickly.

Very pleased for you Oma that you were invited to the new house, shame GD got so upset when you left, she loves you both and wants to have you both around.

Clover, what a shame you didn't get your shopping done but you must be anxious when you leave G on his own. Pity you haven't got anyone to go and sit with him so you can have a bit more freedom.

Hope Enfys and OH find some sunshine.

After my rushing around yesterday a quiet day today. I am going to put a duster around and then go food shopping, might have lunch in Waitrose.

I think you should definitely have lunch in Waitrose Plant.

Clover, a friend of my mum's found someone who would sit with her OH one afternoon a week whilst she went out for shopping, hairdresser, or whatever she fancied doing, to get some worry free time alone.
Not sure how she found the person, but I know there are men and woman who do this. They try to tailor the befriender to the likes and interests of the person so they can chat. There are probably people specifically for Alzheimers patients.
Worth looking into maybe ? Carers need and deserve time to themselves.
Btw, are you claiming Carers Allowance (I hope this is not too personal a question) or is it called Attendance Allowance? My mum did before dad went into the nursing home.

Plant yes treat yourself to lunch out you deserve it

Daisy im sure this friend doesn't need Dettol or a duster

Clover its a good idea what Gem said , there are organisations who have Volunteer's to sit with people and it will give you peace of mind when your out xx

Nanto GD is desperate to stay over but DIL wouldn't allow it . It upsets us seeing her cry when we leave or if she's at outs and its time for her to go home .

Have a good day ladies xxx

Hope all poorly people, whether GRussers or family members or pets, are feeling better today.

Hope too that those jetting off on their travels have a wonderful time wherever they're headed.

Just had my final check up at hospital and consultant has officially discharged me! Way hay! Oh still in remission after his check up earlier this week. And the gap where my tooth used to be is healing.....hope yours is too, Plant. SO it's been a good week medically!

Had nice weekend with DD and family. Have just finished the Fat Rascals from Betty's which they brought me....yummy! Doggo was keen to go for longer walks this time and spent some time in the ditch! Not a pretty sight when he emerged!

Sun still shining but black clouds gathering. Hope the wind blows them away as I've put towels out on line.

Psyching myself up to go shopping, not really in mood, but needs must! I'm at the stage where my ideas for meals seem to have dried up, but I'm sure we won't go hungry.

Have a good day ladies whatever you're up to! x

                        Good morning all.
Been awake since stupid o’clock with this damn cold, it appears to have bypassed the nose and made straight for my chest .

Tesco man has been and gone , I struggled to open the freezer door to get the frozen veg in because of the broken handle . The new handle has arrived but OH was unable to buy the correct screwdriver for it so we are waiting for it to arrive from Amazon.
Just heard on the news that the Debenhams here isn’t going to be closed so that’s good news .

                        Enfys have a lovely holiday.

                        Plant enjoy your lunch out

Oma are you doing anything special for your wedding anniversary
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Thank goodness for that - I was getting worried I'd have to go and shop for the items!!! We're looking forward to seeing you both. I feel so sad for your GD and GS2 - they clearly both love you and B to bits and want to be with you. Can I come and knock some sense into your DIL's head, please.

WeeGranny - what a good week on the health front for you and Mr WeeGranny. Haha, there's nothing like ditch mud - best dog perfume around, next to fox pooh. I'm sure I should know what a Fat Rascal is - it does sound delicious! I hope you get your shopping done. I get into a rut with meals and then get fed up with the same old same old.

Plant - yes, definitely have lunch in Waitrose - it's good to have a break from cooking.

Mimi - poor you. Colds at this time of year seem a real insult, don't they. It's Spring for goodness sake, they should have stopped by now. Even worse that it's affecting your chest. Get plenty of rest, even if you can't sleep much. I hope you get get the new handle on your freezer soon.

Oma, no news as far as I know today. She has been looking after her little GS, but I think his other grandparents are taking over for the week-end, so I expect she's busy.
