Good morning. Feels very mild here this morning. Off to the supermarket too later on, then GD is coming round later with her blanket project, so we’ll be sewing all afternoon. That’s my day planned 😀

Hope your appointment yesterday went well Clover. Have a good day everyone 🌞

      Good morning ladies.

Qwerty, it's lovely picking up the little ones, but also nice to have time with them when we are not the main caregivers, isn't it? I think that is in short supply for several of us!
I hope your tummy is better Plant.

Mild here today. GS1 day for me. I have to stay at their house again as DD will be in London and SIL won't have the car. GS has been very good recently with sticking to the 2 hours a day screen time. As he is an early riser he often has some before school so I let him have whatever is left after school. It means we get to play more actual games together, when his nose isn't on the ipad!
I think OH and I will go to the carpet shop this morning.

DD2's FIL has prostate cancer He is a lovely quiet man ,and cuddly granddad. They are still at that shocked stage you always are, but I'm sure his chances will be good and treatment will begin soon.

      Have a good one everyone.

Early start for me today, up at 7am, GD1 needed to get her car in for service and her chosen garage is a good half an hours drive away (a friend works there). Everyone else was busy so it was up to GM, we must have run into every school drop-off there and back. I have the boiler-man coming to service my boiler in 15 mins so just managed to fit in my breakfast. It is my DD day to have GGS so she will not be available to take GD1 to fetch her car so I suppose it will be me again. Poorly tummy feeling marginally better, I am still eating soft food and drinking plenty, hope it clears soon.

Enjoy your day with your GS1 and I hope you find the carpet you want Gemini.

Very curious about your GD's blanket project Enfys. Hope your OH is feeling okay.

          Morning everyone.
My I-pad is playing up.When I try to reply to a post the text won't move up so the keyboard is in the way and I can't see what i'm writing.Any ideas why this is?
I've had to fire up my old oil-fired laptop to reply

Thank you for asking about my hospital appointment. We had a horrendous wait. When we arrived just before appointment time I was told there were 7 people in front of me The very apologetic nurse was sending people away to the coffee shop with pagers to wait. After about an hour and a half I was seen. Not a lot of change though I am slightly anaemic which could explain some of my lack of get up and go.Consultant did mention the dreaded Chemo.word so I pray it doesn't come to that too soon.I was rather unsettled when he said 3 months til next appointment as it's usually 4 months.Anyway pushing that to the back of my mind,or trying to.
The results of my heart scan aren't back yet.

Plant I'm sorry about your sore tummy.A shame you have to be on taxi duty today but rest when you can and I hope it settles down soon.I find a hot water bottle is very comforting on sore tums.

Gem sorry to hear about the gentleman's cancer.i think this sort is very treatable and at worst slow-growing. These horrible things always seem to happen to the nicest people.

My Tesco delivery just arrived ahead of time so caught me on the hop. Anyway all put away now. The young delivery guy said his next delivery was at the Uni and he showed me the enormous number of crates he had to deliver.I said I hoped he didn't have to carry them all himself.

Take care and have a good day.x

Oh everything is worse when we have long waits at the hospital, and waiting at these times is horrible anyway.
Deep breaths Clover, try to put this aside for now, as you plant to. It may not come to chemo, you just have to take one day at time ((HUGS))

I late good morning from me!

Dog training started late and so didn't finish till 10.30 (not that unusual) but it was a horrendous drive back - torrential rain and a lot of water on the roads. Thank goodness it wasn't very busy. Then OH and I sat and chatted for a while so didn't get to bed till gone midnight and then I took ages getting to sleep. So I've just got up and made a cuppa, but feel better for the good sleep! Qwerty - good to know there are other mad dog owners who do training so late!

Qwerty - that was a good idea to get OH out and I'm glad it helped, plus saved you cooking a meal. Half term! That's coming round so quickly.

Enfys, it is mild and even a bit of sun visible through the clouds. Enjoy your afternoon with your DD.

Gem - I'm sorry to hear about DD2's FIL. I think treatment is very good these days as I know several men who've made excellent recoveries, and one of them was a very aggressive form. I hope all is well for him. Good luck with the carpet hunting.

Clover - what an awful wait for you and for G. It's exhausting isn't it, just sitting waiting and wondering and no doubt worrying as well. "Not a lot of change" is good, and I do think doctors give you the very worst case scenarios because they are supposed to keep the patient 'involved' in their treatment. I think the 3 versus 4 months appointment are flexible and again your Consultant is playing safe. Did they give you iron pills or anything for your anaemia? Everything crossed for you that the heart scan's ok. Sending hugs. xxx

I'll have a look on my i-pad and see if I can find out what's happening on yours - back later.

Plant - that's a busy start to your day, and a very frustrating journey. Hopefully if you have to do the trip tonight the school traffic won't be a problem. I hope you get some GGS cuddles and your tummy continues to improve. xxx

I'm off to get dressed and then find out how our poorly DS2 and GD2 are, and how GS1 and his mum are getting on in France.

Morning all, its sunny and mild here today.

Clover I wouldn't worry about the 3 month appointment rather than 4 months as it is good the consultant is keeping an eye on you and try not to worry about the chemo word, its no good worrying about 'what ifs' deal with the now. Are you having treatment for the anemia ? Sending you hugs
Have you tried dragging the right hand corner of your iPad key board to the bottom of your screen ?

Plant how is your tummy today ?

Daisy any news on GS 1 ?

Not sure what I am going to do today as stupid back is still playing me up, it evens hurts to pick up a kettle..... my back goes out more often than I do !

                Have a good day everyone

Clover appointments can vary from time to time . B was on every 4 weeks then every 2 weeks now it's 3 weeks it depends on who you see .
Try not to let the Chemo word worry you I think as Daisy said have to keep you pre warned but if there has been little change it's a good sign xx

Plant Grandma to the rescue again 😀 hope your tummy is feeling better .

Enfys what is GD making her blanket for is it for her bed or a gift ?

Gem not nice news but if its in early stages as you know it's treatable . Have fun with E today hope you find the carpet you want xx

Daisy you deserve a lie in how did Eva do at classes was she good xx

Mimi have a quiet day , if you don't need to do anything important it can always wait another day xx

Mimi I hope your back eases soon.

GS had his trip to Lotherton Hall and bird garden today ( odd time of year for a trip!) There are penguins there. They saw lots of birds and went in the adventure playground. It sounds as though a good day was had by all. Fortunately it was a much nicer day weatherwise than of late.
He is having a bit of screen time now before tea then Beavers.

Gem, sorry to hear about DD FIL.

Clover i wouldn't worry about having a 3 month appointment instead of 4.
Just keeping an eye on you.

In my first post this morning,i said we didn't have any plans.
Well huuby put paid to that.
He has decided to put white plastic cladding on the ceiling in the back porch.
So he has spent most of today putting the batons up on the ceiling.
Had a lovely mess to clean up,but it's done now.
We have the white cladding on our conservatory ceiling and the downstairs loo.
The mess will be worth it when it's done.

Plant, pleased to hear your tummy is settling a bit.

Clover - I can’t workout what’s wrong with your iPad. Is the “keyboard down” symbol on the keyboard not responding when you tap it or isn’t the text at the top scrolling up or down. Have you tried shutting it down completely and re-opening it? I was going to Google it but our signal is having a bad day. I’ll try again later. 👍

Clover, I agree with the other ladies, don’t worry about the earlier appointment. They can vary we have found.

Had a nice afternoon with GD, made a good start on her blanket and she got to,grips with the sewing machine very well. She went home pleased as punch. Oma, it is for her bed or maybe on a chair. she had lots of t shirts with logos on, bands, Harry Potter etc. So she’s cut off the front with the logo on, backed it with fusible backing and is in the process of stitching the together in long strips which will then be joined together. I have a fleece blanket that she is going to use as backing so it will be nice and warm. Looking good so far.

Hospital appointment tomorrow. P’s arms are still itchy and the rash is still there so I’m wondering if they will reduce the dosage. We shall see.

We've just spent the last 10 minutes watching a fox in our garden.
He/she went away, but came back again.
Hubby went to next door neighbour to tell them it was hanging around.
They have got ferrets,so the fox was probably thinking they were on the menu tonight.

Mimi - lots of sympathy from me about your poorly back. I know exactly how you feel when even picking an (empty!) kettle up is a struggle! Do take care. Wine bottles are much less of a problem.

Nanto - there's no stopping these OHs when they get going!

Enfys - I hope everything goes well with P's hospital appointment tomorrow and hope they can give him something for the itchy rash. Your GD did well with her blanket, and I bet you both enjoyed a good natter. What is she planning to do now she's home from Australia?

Nanto - I love watching foxes too, although they don't hang around in our garden - Eva sees to that. I'm glad you warned your neighbours though - those ferrets would make a tasty snack for a hungry fox.

Gem - GS has had a busy day with his trip and then Beavers.

With no internet to distract me I went out to the summerhouse and did a bit of painting. It was quite warm until just before 4 pm! I hadn't planned what to do so just added a few blobs to a picture I started ages ago and played around with the new acrylics I've just got. I feel very rusty.

Clover - just done some Googling about your iPad not scrolling and all I can find is that it may be an iOS (operating system) memory management issue - described as 'going temporarily bonkers'! If that's the case, the quickest solution is a hard reset. To do that hold home and sleep until your iPad restarts. I hope that helps - let me know.
