I have just got back from shopping at Waitrose, I went to the one on a hill at the side of the motorway, it is always windy but today it was a gale, had a job to get to and from the car, next time it is windy I will go to the one in the valley but not so easy to park there and GD2 works at the hilly one so she joined me with my shop and we had a cup of tea before we came home.

Blowing a gale and pouring with rain here now. Just made it back from the library before the heavens opened. Don't think the librarian would have been very pleased if I'd got the books soaked!

Saw back man this morning and I have to have an operation . The injections haven't done the trick and he said there was no point in giving me any more, so operation it is. Anything to get rid of this constant pain. I haven't got a date yet, but hopefully it won't be too long a wait.

Plant....I can imagine how windy it was in the Waitrose car park at the top of the hill! It's a lovely shop though isn't it? DD has been using the Tesco in Amersham as it's nearer her now, but it's not quite the same!

Tried the new Aldi near us this morning, but it was a bit of a stressful shop. Aisles quite narrow and people pushing and shoving and they didn't have half the things on my list! So I got what I could and came out and went to the relative sanity of Sainsbury's over the road!

We have had a shall we say blip not so much in my family but we are a little affected by it but it’s more my sil that has the problem will write on YEO
Daisy how is GD better I hope, we have been to Aldi today but I couldn’t get everything 😩
WG hope you arnt waiting too long I don’t think there is much worse than back pain it affects the whole body !

Enfys - it has been a bit wild today, hasn't it! Our back garden is under water, again! The birthday treat will be a lovely surprise for P and your GD. I'm glad the cream is soothing his rash a bit.

Nana - plenty more hugs, whenever you want them. I hope your tummy is soon better - there are a lot of bugs going round.

Nanto - I just fancy fish and chips! OH is out tonight and I couldn't be bothered to cook for one, so I just had a sandwich.

Plant - perhaps you needed the extra sleep after feeling poorly for the last few days.

Clover - I mentioned your iPad to my GS2 today, and he wondered if it was related to an upgrade, or thought you may have run out of memory on it. He said to have a look in Settings and delete any apps you don't use. If that doesn't work, then he also said take it into an Apple Store.

Wee Granny - I'm so sorry you will have to have an operation on your back, but constant back pain is hard to live with as it affects every move you make. I hope you don't have to wait long so you can get it over and done with. Will you be out of action for long afterwards?

Qwerty - poor little GD2 is still poorly. It's a strange bug - you start to feel better then it comes back again with a vengeance. DS2 has it too but not so badly, so he stayed at home with her today. Perhaps the weather isn't helping your OH. I think most of us are fed up with it.

I was a very good girl this morning (I know, it's a bit of a shock!) I dusted and used the sucky up thing and the de-cobweb-er long handled thingy for ages and the living room and hall look much better for it. I made lunch and then didn't feel like doing anything else! Half a day's hard work and I'm done for!!

Wee Granny what are they going to do to your back, will you be out of action for a while?
I had an MRI scan on mine last year and was told that my discs at the base of mine spine had collapsed and there was nothing that could be done about it, just pain killers for now and later pain management clinic as I have been told it won’t get any better, it’s been hell this week I can tell you
Its good that you are able to have something done about it

Mimi I'm feeling a lot better thanks. Wee G sorry to hear that you have to have an operation on your back but pleased that they can do something to sort the pain out for you. Mimi I'm sorry nothing can be done to help your back pain. Sounds cliche but did you ask for a second opinion?

Qwerty, men are certainly 'a breed of their own'. To be honest that's been my downer. Thanks for the compliment re GS's drawing. If anyone is an art enthusiast it's my GS3, who was just 3. He'll fill up a sketch pad in a day without any space whatsoever.

B has had 2 Spinal Fusions in the past but sadly they both failed and now its just pain management nothing else can be done , his was due to injury , its now crumbled and he also has Ostioarthritis (sp) now . Backs are funny things once they go as Qwerty said it effects all of you , I sympathise with you ladies xx

Good morning all. I hope no one has any damage to their property during the night because of the gale. I’ve just had a quick look outside and we seem to been ok here.

We have got Tesco delivery today and DS1 is coming up for lunch, haven’t seen him in a while so that will be nice Apart from that we won’t be doing much, OH will be glued to the TV watching the rugby which to be honest I don’t like. Haven’t got a clue about the rules, it just seems very noisy and muddy to me. Someone throws the egg shaped ball to another player who then runs like hell only to be pounced on by 3 or 4 players so the game stops , they pick themselves up and start the whole process again!

I was up when the wind woke B about 3am so he came downstairs and I made hot drinks and sat chatting , it died down about 4ish so we went back to bed .Apart from leaves in the garden and the dogs toy box over no damage done

Mimi - these sons seem to be very busy, so I'm sure you're ready for a catch up. I'd rather watch rugby than football, even though I don't know the rules, but I think you've got to be pretty brave or mad to play it!
