Grauntie what kind of bags are you making ?

Some years ago my friend was doing a Art course and part of her exams was designing clutch type bags from a sort of Chinese silk .
She drew the design and asked me to make 2 up for her exhibition ,
I must have sewn and taken them apart 3 times before I got it right they were harder than they looked , just a sort of envelope design but because they were so simple there was no room for error they had to be perfect or every mistake showed , it was just as well I had interlined the silk or they would have frayed like billy hoe and been half the size

    Good luck

Sunny here atm, I am going to a craft fair this afternoon, a friend has organised it as she does every year to raise money for her WI. Sil is going to check the drain this morning but I suspect because the drains were blocked my dishwasher pump gave up. We have four manhole covers, he checked and cleared the last one and that freed the others, this happens several times a year.

Love that dog Oma, bet it was cold with the doors open, talk about being spoilt.

Enjoy your invasion Grauntie and hope plan 2 works, I am waiting for the pics. Has your chest infection cleared up?

Good morning, a bit of an eventful night here! DH had a nose bleed in the night, blood everywhere! Luckily it stopped and he’s been ok since. He also says he feels like he’s got flu, but that is what one of the after effects is like so not worrying about it. Breathing still a bit laboured but that’s to be expected. He has a scan next week to see if all,is ok then it’s on to the next one! He’s ok now, sitting up in bed eating toast and marmalade 👍🏼.

its very sunny here, but I have nothing planned. I made a big batch of soup yesterday so that’s lunch sorted. Think we’ll just chill out today, I have crochet on the go and a new book so I’ll be happy. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Enfys his neuts could be low that can cause bleeding , if it happens again ring the Hospital he may need meds or a transfusion , it's very common and what he's had done will be knocking his stats about . Plenty of rest although I'm sure he's too worn out to do anything anyway xxx

Gem - I have tried out the Karcher - I'll put it on the thread I started about it! It sounds like another busy day for you - but at least you don't have to cook tonight.

Avo - to paraphrase - I wish I was there! It sounds perfect.

Grauntie - It sounds like a busy, busy day for you. I hope Plan 2 works with the bags.

Oma - I'm sure the delivery man wouldn't even notice, but it's cold stacking the chest freezer in the garage in my flimsy, lacey PJs!!! I'd end up with more than one freezing chest!!!

Plant - fingers crossed the drain was the problem, not the pump! The craft fair sounds lovely, but a lot of work for your friend.

Enfys, that must have been scary for both of you, but Oma's advice sounds very sensible. It's good that he's eating, and soup for lunch sounds just the job. Take care of yourself as well as P. xx

My days never seem to go quite to plan - although I didn't really have one for this morning! I have washed all the pots and pans, crockery and cutlery from the caravan - I like to do them all with hot water/dishwasher after each trip, but forgot last time. So my caravan halo is shining now!

Off to play with the Karcher after lunch!

A quick hello from me. Still at DD’s until Monday.

Enfys I’m pleased P is home and resting well. Quite an ordeal I’m sure but glad it’s done with.

We have just been for a long walk so having a sit down before lunch.

I have been helping DD with costumes for the local panto. Yesterday I altered a size12 black hooded raincoat that was destined for the charity shop into an old-fashioned policeman’s tunic for GS to wear.Sewing is not my forte so I think it turned out quite well considering It just needs some silver buttons and insignia to complete. DD was making rabbit ears..

Hope you are all enjoying your day..

                Grauntie,how is the chest now.Better i hope.
Gem,have a lovely evening with friends.
                Clover,well done on the sewing.

Been a bit of an easy day for me. Did some housework before we went to Asda.
Made something to eat, after all shopping was put away.

Went to the cinema on Thursday to see Allelujah! an Alan Bennett play. It's on at a theatre in London but was being streamed worldwide ( I think that's what was said!), certainly nationwide! If you get the chance, go and see it. It's set in the geriatric ward of a hospital threatened with closure but don't let that put you off ! It was at times hilarious, sad and thought provoking.I must admit I like this idea of seeing London , or other towns, productions in the local cinema

WG, I am big fan of seeing those streamings to local cinemas. I will look out for that one. You can see productions from London and even New York. Much cheaper and far less travelling!
I am going with some friends to see The King and I, from the West End, at our local Vue soon.
Wise words from Oma, Enfys. I'm sure it was worrying at the time but your OH has taken it in his stride

WG and Gem, I love the live streamings too. To me it seems incredible that I can sit in a little old-fashioned volunteer-run cinema and watch a live show anywhere in the world!

WG - it sounds as though Allelujah! has a bit of everything in it.

I said earlier on my days never seem to go to plan. I didn't clean any windows anywhere because a friend popped round for a cuppa and we sat chatting, and they won't get done tomorrow because we've promised DS1 that we'll go up to their house for the day because he needs OH to give him a hand with putting the 'clam' ??? back on a car he's renovating. I think the clam is the front end of the body, but I'm not sure!!

We don't have a cinema close enough that do this , such a shame as I think it would do well , we do have a a cinema about 15 minutes away but it doesn't do likes of this ,we would have to travel into Newcastle I think

                            Good morning ladies.
Looks like we had rain during the night. No particular plans for today.
Going to sort some washing and get my meat in the slow cooker.
                            Have a good day.

Good morning Nan2, Oma and everyone else.

Daisy, those windows, and your Karcher, will wait

One of OH's golf friends is coming to lunch, so we are doing roast pork. We don't do a Sunday roast just for us, so it is a good excuse, as I love them! This lady is a widow and both her children live a long way away, so weekends can drag I think, if no golf is played. She is a very nice person, so it will be good to see her.

                              Happy Sunday everyone.
