It's been a busy old day for us! As I mentioned, all window cleaning was abandoned yesterday, and today we've been up to DS1's for the day. We left here in torrential rain and very poor visibility. Not great on a busy motorway. But once we got 'over the hill' and north of Winchester it was bone dry and nearly sunny. OH and DS1 spent the day putting the clam on DS1's little sports car. It wasn't an easy job apparently and they had to do lots of other little jobs along the way. Still, it kept them occupied nicely, and DS's car now looks like a car again!!!

Eva has spent the day on high alert just in case a firework goes off, and of course there were lots of them on the journey home.

We're back up there on Wednesday because I've promised to go to GS1's Review meeting with the school and LA. They'll want to know what if any support he will need post-16, but until we know what he's going to do, we won't be able to say. And he can't say exactly what he will be doing until the GCSE results come out next August. So I've a feeling it will be a chicken-and-egg meeting!

I'll try and catch up with everybody's news tomorrow, but I need to get an email done now and I need an early night!

Nan2, I didn't realise about Nana either until she posted in her journal. I think it was a last minute thing.
Daisy, as it is November 5th hopefully this will be the last firework night for poor Eva and other dogs to endure.

Today OH is going round to the friends we were with on Saturday night. They are paying her to assemble some Ikea furniture. They decided they may as well pay her as a handyman and I expect she will charge less! They are going out so I feel I should go with OH to be the one who holds or lifts something to assist! I may pop off for a while though is she is getting on OK.

At last I feel like I’m back in the land of the living. It is now OHs turn! I think he has a kidney stone. He has a GP appointment tomorrow, so hopefully that will start the ball rolling.

Gem, I’m always the ‘lovely assistant’, finding the tiny screw that was dropped, holding the other end of things etc., ignoring the cussing and making the tea.
Two card games today, a friendly with the girls this afternoon and a league game this evening. I hope I can stay awake!

Got Storm till 8pm tonight as DD and family off to Fireworks display so no point taking dog home he may as well stay with us till they get back , its not like he's any bother
Last night the fireworks went on till after 12 , I was still down hear at 3 and B came down someone started setting them off again about 2.45 ,( I bet they were popular with their neighbours)
So B came down for a cup of coffee till they stopped about 3.15 , madness B said they most likely had been drinking and decided that was a good time to set them off get up this morning and realise they have no fireworks for the kids tonight

Our village fireworks are this Sat. at the Sports and Social Club and on the 11th they are having what they call an Expo. the Scouts are painting crosses and there will be a gathering on the common and an exhibition in the village hall.

That was very selfish of those those people setting fireworks off at that time Oma.

Off to JL this morning to look at some dishwashers and get some advice, GD1 is coming with me and we shall have lunch there.

Good morning ladies, its a grey but mild day here . I could do with some sunshine and a light breeze as I have lots of to do . I will be glad when the new kitchen is installed and then I can get that tumble dryer I have got my eye on.


How are all of our pets with the fireworks going off night , after night, after night ………

Just spoken to neighbour's DD who stayed the night there. Neighbour brighter this morning and family trying to persuade her to get more outside help e.g. overnight carer. Hopefully one of the GP's will visit today to check her over. Thanks for asking about her ladies.

Feel hair free now after getting rid of the extra hair on my eyebrows and chin! Why do hairs suddenly appear overnight? Am sure there's a nasty fairy who goes round at night making them grow!

I've been told I've got a cyst on my kidney as well as my pancreas...wondering where the next one will turn up ! See GP at end of week to find out if she knows what's causing my high bilerubin levels.

Good afternoon everyone. We're just waiting for a carpet fitter to call to measure up the bathroom and our bedroom. So I may have to dash off to try and contain Cooper's excitement!

It's quite mild and dry here today - not bad at all.

Oma there are laws about what times fireworks can be let off. Except 5th November and New Year's Eve I think it's up to 11 pm. Midnight tonight (5th) and 1 am for NYE, Chinese New Year and Diwali (which I think is on Wednesday!!! So your neighbours were right out of order.


Grauntie, poor OH I hope it's not a kidney stone. As Mimi says - OH needs to drink plenty of water. But pleased to hear you're feeling like a 'ooman again.

WeeGranny - I hope your neighbour can get some more support. It's very worrying when they are so frail. Oh dear, between hairs and cysts you're not having a good time. I hope the cysts aren't causing you any problems.

Mimi - I'm sure you've said, but when is your new kitchen being installed?

Gem - I'm sure S will appreciate your company, even if she doesn't actually need your help tonight! It's my role in the family to hold the other end as well! Very early on in our marriage OH wanted to split a long bamboo cane to use half of it to edge a shelf. He got me to hold one end while he sliced it lengthways down the middle - with an electric saw!!! Oh, I was so naive in those days! I do a risk assessment now! Hahaha.

We are still at our friends house. OH is now constructing the drawers. It is a big chest of drawers, no way could she have done it alone, as there were several steps involving lifting it which clearly state 2 people are needed. I dont know what they were thinking of going out and leaving her to it! When this is finished there are 2 bedside tables to make. I doubt I will be needed for those! I went off and bought us sandwiches and doughnuts for our lunch.
Back I go upstairs to help again 🙂

Would you believe it, after spending money on a new dishwasher, my I Pad has now packed up it would seem. Died on my last evening, I thought it needed charging but no it is dead. I rely on my IPad more than my laptop because that is where my apps are stored and I listen to stories on it. Will consult the oracle (my GS1) and get his advice as to what to buy, then I shall be passing the hat around. Out all day tomorrow, a trip to the Post Office Museum and the London Lights so can't do anything until Wed. I also have a toothache, a dental appt. on Wednesday, more expense. Does that count as my three do you think.
