Enfys - that's such good news. I can only imagine how relieved you feel, and it sounds as though P will be back home with you tomorrow. Hopefully you will sleep well tonight. By the way, I like how you blame Qwerty for the glass or two of wine!!! Only joking - you do need time to relax. It was good not having to go to Southampton as well, because I remember you saying he had an appointment there fairly recently.
Another hurdle cleared. xxx

Gem, I do have my uses. I chopped most of the apples when OH had peeled them and weighed out all the other ingredients, took my turn with stirring and helped with the bottling process - cleaning round the outside and the rim if there were any dribbles. I'm glad to hear S's hip isn't giving too much trouble. I bet your mum was tired after going to see her friend, and glad of the help with bins etc.
Qwerty - I don't know about me being a busy bee - you never stop! How was the parkin? Sadly, no bananas on the plant(s). My DS1 is the family 'expert' on them and this year he got bananas! Not quite as we know them - they were about two inches long and didn't ripen, but looking at a fruiting banana tree in a Berkshire garden has to bring a smile to your face! His are planted in the ground and he makes an elaborate wigwam round them to keep them warm and cosy through the winter.
Nanto - does your monitor make everything look brighter and clearer? My OH couldn't believe what he'd been putting up with for years - his new monitor was so much better!
Oma - Poor GS1, he's had his fair share of injuries this last few months. I hope it's not serious and he'll be ok to play on Saturday. Your SIL will be shattered by the time he gets to that time in December! I can never understand why people want new carpets or furniture before then. I'd rather stick with the old ones until New Year, then nobody has to worry if things get spilt or anything.

Good morning ladies,another lovely sunrise.
The weather is supposed to be sunnier and milder today, so hopefully this afternoon we may get in the garden.
Daisy, the monitor is clearer and brighter, also bigger. It surprising what you get used to.
Off to in laws in an hour.
No cooking today,we are aving fish and chips. I'll just have fish, chips from a fish shop are never to my liking.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning
Happy New Monitor Nan2
It was very cold when I went to feed the neighbours cat, I wore my lovely new duvet coat which I bought from M&S the other day.
GD and GS1 day today. GS all day, but DD will pick up GD after lunch, as the school has a family Halloween Party later this afternoon. DD is helping so will take GD with her.
Nothing else today, as far as I know!
Have a good one everyone.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Morning ladies
wonder how P is feeling today and Enfys for that matter
Daisy yes yesterday was very hectic I am not going down that road today, apart from OH who as been commissioned to make a poppy for eldest g/ d for school , we are having a walk along our local canal look at the barges moored up fo the winter, and then lunch at the Ferry Boat Inn , I am expecting a phone call from Dd about her pick up . Tomorrow we are at DS for tea hotdogs etc and fireworks 🎇
Nice new warm coat Gem for the winter you will be all cosied up
Love fish shop chips can take or leave the fish, but we don’t have them often there isn’t a decent fish shop locally
Yes Daisy she did blame me for the wine drinking well it was my suggestion but she did say she had already thought of it ,so its a chicken and egg situation 😬
Doubt I will be on here for the rest of the day so enjoy your Friday folk of GRU

Good morning, ladies. I thought I was getting up early, but it was nearly 9 am! It's bright and sunny here, but we've had a very heavy frost so I'm glad I put a temporary cover on OH's banana plant. I also tucked a couple of pretty patio roses into the greenhouse so they're ok!
Qwerty - enjoy your more relaxing day!
Oma - even if I get up at 6 am I can't get that much work done. I have to 'come round' slowly. I got away without doing the washing up! I took Eva for a walk while OH did it.
Gem - your new coat sounds just the thing for this chilly weather. Is it a full-length one? I've only got a warm jacket - one with a detachable fleece lining. I need to shop more!!
Nanto - love the graphic. Yes, it's surprising what you put up with without realising there's something much better available. Enjoy seeing your virtual world in sharp, clear technicolour.
I love fish and chips, and they have to be really bad for me not to eat them!
Enfys - I hope you've had a good sleep and P has had a good night too. Fingers crossed he's able to come home today. xx
It's a lovely day so I think we'll take Eva to the paddock for a good run - tire her out before tonight's inevitable fireworks, and then do the odd jobs in the garden that have been waiting for a while.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, lovely sunny morning here.
Enjoy your day out, Qwerty......sorry I blamed you for the wine, but I did enjoy it 😀
Just spoken to P. He is OK, a bit sore which is to be expected and tired. Just waiting to see the doc and whether he can come home. Otherwise fine.
I made a big batch of soup yesterday, so think I’ll do some baking if I get chance. Haven’t made cakes for ages but think P would enjoy a little treat, we don’t eat them often but every now and again is ok. I am sitting with my coffee and Mary Berry for inspiration 🍰.......I might get sidetracked by my new book sitting here looking at me 📚. You busy lot, slowly does it for me too Daisy, hope Eva is not frightened by fireworks this evening.
Querty I envy you having a canal close by, the Thames is a bit of a drive from us. did the parkin turn out okay?
Libra, pleased to hear P is okay, better he stays in hospital until they are sure everything is okay.
Hope GS1 is passed fit for a game Oma. I agree with Daisy, why should you want new carpets and furniture before Christmas, very odd.
My dishwasher has packed up, probably the pump. I am having to unload it and wash all the crocks in it. Not sure what to do, I hate this throw away age, might give Bosch a ring. I don't think there is much else that can go wrong with a dishwasher, nothing moves so it is probably the pump. It tries to get started, the timer is working but it then gives up. Food shopping for me this afternoon, meeting GD1 where she works at Waitrose.
That sounds an exciting project Grauntie, what sort of bags are you planning and what will you do with them? What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Oh dear Grauntie!
I'm glad you slept well Oma.
I hope P is home soon Enfys. The wine was a good idea
How nice to be going to a family firework event Qwerty.
I hope the dishwasher can be fixed Plant.
My coat, from M &S is lovely and warm. A long one, waterproof, with detachable hood. It is what I think of as a duvet coat. It felt warm as soon as I tried it on in the shop, so I knew it would be toasty for the cold weather. I went in looking for a jacket really, and did try several shorter ones on. I kept coming back to this one though, as it was so nice, and in the end I bought it. It cost more than I planned to spend, but I keep my clothes for years so it will be worth it.
GD has gone now with her mum and GS is sleeping . He is so cute and funny, has has us all in stitches most of the time GD got some more rock painting done this morning.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
