Oma and Qwerty you are quite right in that golf isn't helping the problem. The problem is she loves it, and asking her not to do it is like asking Oma not to clean!!
I think she will be sensible though, I hope so!
That sewing job sounds horrendous Oma!
Clover, I hope you enjoyed your lunch.
I bet you will be hearing all about Las Vegas Daisy!
Like you I hate driving back from DD1's house on dark nights. It's about 35 to 40 minutes, a lot of it dark country lanes, and like you I hate it when oncoming traffic is blinding me. Your journey sounds much worse than mine though.

Quite a lazy day here. I did clean bathroom and downstairs loo, and hang a washload out. Apart from popping round to feed the neighbours cat, that is all I have done. Shepherd's pie from the freezer for tea , so just veg to prepare.

Thank you all for your kind wishes. Not a good night but had to get on with it as we had a fridge/freezer malfunction while we were away, so we had to refill both. You’d think Asda was giving stuff away, it was so busy!
Will tell about the hols later somewhere else. 😁

Oma, I hate sewing velvet. Jolly good luck.

Oma, thats a job out of the way. You're right, velvet isn't the best thing to work with.
I got rid of my sewing machine a few years ago.Only used it to make curtains, but now i buy them made to measure

Gem, hope OH is ok when playing golf.

Probably be another sleepless night for me,in view of what happened this morning..

Clover, I'm sure Luna enjoyed the long walk as much as you did. How lovely to have a good pub just up the road.

Oma - Ouch, spending that long at the sewing machine must be agony! You didn't have to the table runners all in one go, you silly billy! And there you are saying to Gem to keep S off the golf course because of her hip!! I hope you're listening to your own advice!

Qwerty, Do the twins know they've got a yummy dinner for tomorrow? Well done to your OH for looking after your neighbour's CH. I'm sure she appreciates it.

Gem - I feel really sorry for S about her hip. but I hope she's sensible too. Taking it easy now may save her a lot more trouble in the future. My journey's back isn't as far as yours - about 20 minutes across the Forest. I really sympathise over the dark narrow lanes - I'm sure a lot of drivers don't know how to dip their lights!

Grauntie - what a nuisance having the fridge and freezer fail while you were away. I hope there wasn't too much mess. I hope tonight is better - keep warm.

Nanto - I know you will be playing over what happened in your mind, you can't help it and it was so horrible. But I do hope you can get some sleep. xxx

We took Bailey back and arrived just a few minutes after his family had got home. Their flight back was bang on time and they were out of the Heathrow within minutes! They were all quite tired and had no clue what day it was! But they had a fantastic time, although GS2, who's nearly 14, thought it was too loud, too brash and there was far too much over-consumption everywhere. Bailey was pleased to see them! While we were there fireworks started going off nearby and Eva went into a total meltdown. I just didn't expect them tonight for some reason, so we had nothing to help her calm down.

Both GDs have got Inset days tomorrow, so an early start for me! GD2 has got a birthday party at 11.30 - her first since she started school. The other granny has kindly said she'll take her, otherwise I'd have to take GD1 as well, plus Cooper!!! She's so excited, I hope she's not disappointed.

Poor Eva how is she now Daisy ,
BIL (Martin ) was taking a shelf down today he put up about 18 month ago and when he took the bracket off water started to gush out of the wall , when he had put it up he had without knowing screwed through one of the heating pipes ,
It was fine while the screw was in but as soon as he released the screw water started to escape , so they had to turn central heating off and British gas are coming out tomorrow to repair it but it will mean taking some of the wall out to get to the pipe .
Trouble is its a new build and like ours the pipes are plastic so you cant detect them in the wall with any meters , its pot luck really not the best invention is it ,

It's frosty here but not too bad.

Nanto - thanks for asking. She seems ok, and will have a quiet day with OH. I hope you managed to sleep after what happened yesterday. xxx

I will wait for the paths to clear before walking round to feed the neighbours cat. It's only 3 doors away, but far enough for me to slip!
OH and I are going out for coffee with my auntie this morning, not sure where yet. This afternoon I am going to see my mum, and I need to do a little shopping and drop into the library. I will give OH some reflexology when I get home.

Oma, the sun has started to thaw the icy bits , so I picked my way carefully between them and have been to feed the cat and open the curtains, and made it back in one piece

Morning all. Sunny but frosty here.
Hope everyone had a reasonable night’s sleep especially our night owls ( though I know it’s not through choice )
Dog walking is of course on our agenda today but nothing else planned though I know Luna will expect a few games when we are in.

                            Have a great day.

Very nice to have Jules back.
Hope you feel better today Grauntie
That certainly sounded a marathon sewing job Oma, a labour of love.
Take care those of you who have snow and ice.
Poor Eva Daisy, we had fireworks going off yesterday, frightened the kitten he shot through the cat flap.

Oma...What the heck! I had no idea about the plastic pipes in new builds. I really hope that it can be sorted without too much mess. Did B & M (not the store🤣) have a laugh about it. I can imagine the language.

Qwerty, I'm pleased you said about your OH changing the time on the timer...one thing we always forget to do.

Needing to go back to have my nails sorted today. Had them gelled on Saturday & they're a right mess. The trainee did try her best tho. Just waiting for a call back.
