Qwerty - You must have wondered whose notes the nurse was looking at - obviously not yours! I wonder if she'd given you a cocktail of drugs for tropical climes you could have claimed for a nice trip to the Bahamas or somewhere! We're still waiting for our flu jabs to come in!

Aggie - another load of confusion! As you say, it seems one hand doesn't know what the other's doing. But I'm glad you've at least got your jab. I hope these people who blithely expect you to get two buses each way to do something routine which could be done locally understand one day how difficult such journeys can be.

Qwerty - we had a lovely lunch. Just 5 of us today, but tht was fine - more chance to talk to each other. We never seem to run out of conversation. Yes, it is a fantastic spot and today the sun was piercing the clouds here and there and sparkling on the sea and lighting up the Needles on the Isle of Wight. The golf course itself was very busy with members making the most of another great day.

I'd definitely ask the doctor if the thyroid tablets don't seem to be making much difference. A coincidence, but one of my friends was saying that her 40+ DD has recently been diagnosed with an under-active thyroid and since she's been on medication she looks 100% better - her skin looks nice and clear, she's lost weight, has more energy and is sleeping better.

I got home mid-afternoon and we took Eva and Bailey to the paddock for a run. Eva was a little monster, barking at Bailey (who ignores her), running round trying to round us up and generally being as bad as she was when we first got her. She ended up on lead and head collar and was still fidgety, so we came back home.

The decorator should be coming in themorning to give us a quote for the hall stairs and landing - and we still have no idea what we want!!

Aggie I hope one day that lady understands how difficult it can be to get to main surgery , some people are just Jobs worths and have no tact , maybe if they all communicated more they would have seen you were on the nurses list .
At least it's done now but next year you should insist on the local surgery or the nurse don't be put off by a bully of a receptionist , Thankfully not all receptionists are like that you do get ones that will bend over backwards to help xx

Had my flu jab yesterday, Had an appt. with the doctor for a suspicious wart she okayed the wart and did my flu jab. Food shopping today, raining atm. Youngest GS has passed his driving test so that is all of them driving.

Nan2 I have heard the forecast for much colder weather coming. It has been so warm. I wore my flipflops yesterday!
Our local pharmacy does flu jabs, and no appointment needed, so when I become eligible I will probably just go there, rather than go into town to the surgery.

GD and GS2 are due later this morning, and are staying overnight.
The garage roof was completed yesterday. OH and I were both out in the afternoon and when we got back it was done. They were back at 8am on the dot today, and are noisily ripping the roofing off the kitchen roof!

Good morning all. Its rather chilly outside this morning but at least its not raining.

Aggie every year without fail I had to argue with dad's surgery that he couldn't get to any of the surgery's that were doing the flu vaccine as he was, blind and housebound because of a stroke he had a few years earlier. The district nurse used to call on him once a week and they couldn't understand what all the fuss was about as it only took a minute to give him his vaccine. Good that you have had yours .

Nan2 , good to hear that you had a extra hours sleep than the previous night...… as a well know supermarket would say.. Every little helps

Nana wouldn't it be lovely if we could plug ourselves in and charge up our energy !

Got Tesco coming soon and other than that I don't know what I will do for the rest of the day , there is the ironing I suppose but there is no need to go mad !

Been out too the new Continental Deli we discovered the other day , bought some bread cheese and cooked meat , we have been invited to call in tomorrow for a tasting session they are putting on so we will go try new stuff

We haven't heard anything about our flu jabs yet, but OH is going into the chemists today so he'll check up.

Afternoon one and all a sunny but chilly day today, OH off to smoking clinic this afternoon the pills are still making him nauseous, he thinks he might be better on patches so will ask them, I’m not saying it’s easy for him at the moment.
Food shop this afternoon and must pop over the road later my neighbour who lost her OH in February is going to New Zealand tomorrow to her family staying till after Christmas I think she doing the right thing, she’s going business class and so will be looked after as she’s 78 and it’s a long way , she’s well impressed with the chauffeur picking her up from home lol I think it will be some sort of a taxi but she’s been told the driver will pick her up so she thinks she’s Lady Penelope with Parker !
Mimi that sounds like a good idea being plugged in I guess going to bed to sleep is the same idea but not as easy as as a plug

Plant good news about g/s passing his test is this the same g/s that failed first time that has come round quick, best hide the mini now 🚗 a nice early birthday present for you in a way too

Spoke to DIL, GS4 wanted to tell me on Sunday at my birthday lunch, he is so excited, at least he will have the car to get him to college, atm he has to take two buses. I now have all the choices for the lunch on Sunday, there will be 16 with the GGS. Had to get the assistance of GD 2 to help me with the choices, it was giving me a headache and then GS2 said he could come now so had to add two (girlfriend), now changing it anymore. I shall have all my GC there so must get a pic.

Hope your friend enjoys her trip Qwerty and all the comfort of Parker and Business Class.

Oma, that Deli sounds good, wish we had one near us. My son used to bring us Kassler when he was living in Germany. don't see it in the shops here.

Qwerty I remember when OH gave up smoking, he was hell to live with and the amount of food he got through I swear it was cheaper to buy the cigarettes than my weekly food bill. It’s been over 40 years now since he last smoked . Hope your OH is successful in giving up , it’s hard but worth it in the end .

Eldest DS is stopping over night on Saturday as it’s his birthday on Sunday, can’t believe he will be 44 when I am clearly only 54
