GD2 has had a bit of a cold and this morning when we got back from playgroup I noticed she had a rather crusty nose. Getting a tissue out, I said let's give her nose a good blow etc. Without a second's hesitation she backed away saying 'It's all right, Grandma, I'll pick it.'

On the car radio today there was a news report about drivers cancelling their signal when leaving a roundabout. GD picked up on it, and asked what indicators were. I explained, and demonstrated, when overtaking a parked bus, then later making a left followed by a right turn, on our way to the park. I pulled up behind some other parked cars at the side of the road close to the park. I then showed her the Hazard button and told her what those lights were for. 'No don't do it! ~ she pleaded. I told her it was OK, pushed the button to demonstrate then cancelled it. She didn't look too happy. Then she said. 'Grandma!! You haven't got your seatbelt on!!', ' I don't need it on, we're parked' I smiled. No wonder she had been so worried about me demonstrating hazard lights, as she thought we were in a traffic queue

Daisy, she is a very 'safe' child. We have always joked that she will work for Health and Safety! I have a strong memory of her, aged 18 months, carefully moving her little chair away from the radiator in our conservatory. It was summer and the radiator cold! She used to shout warnings to me about prickly bushes ahead too, as I pushed her in her buggy

Gem - LOL - my GD1 is exactly the same. She even insists on helping her little sister get on and off the trampoline, even though little sis is more than capable of doing it herself! Perhaps they could both be joint heads of H&S!!

E is the same as your GD Daisy wants to help (mother) all the kids, she does with G, he pushes her away when she goes near him until he wants something then goes straight to her...

Last week i was holding E's hand on the way to school, my foot went sideways on my shoe i tripped but didn't fall, i said to her you saved me by having my hand, she smiled and said "im pleased" i said how nice that was, she then said " because i could never pick you up"......errr what do you mean, she just laughed, think she was being polite...

GD2, who's 2 ½, was at playgroup. One of the teachers suggested drawing (which she loves) and asked what GD's favourite thing was. 'Grandma' came the reply. The result was the picture below. When the teacher asked GD to tell her about it, GD looked at her oddly and said "It's purple, green and pink, teacher K". But I think you will all agree it's the spitting image of me.
