Qwerty - GD1 loves going into the shop after school - it doesn't happen often enough for her, but she loves being given a 'job' to do and a couple of weeks ago they showed her how to use the pricing gun and she was pricing up ready-made picture frames while waiting for her other Gran to collect her. I'm not sure what her rate of pay is though!!!

GD2, aged 2 and a bit, is teething and today she was a bit fretful. She was still fretful when she woke up from her nap, with her dummy firmly rammed into her mouth. But she started to cry and the dummy fell out. The look of outrage on her little face would have intimidated a heavyweight boxer! "My dummy fell out, Grandma" carried more indignation than I can convey , and it was very hard not to laugh.

Last time GS (now to be known as GS1!) Was here he went outside while I was in the kitchen. It was a wet day, but had stopped raining. Through the kitchen window I could see the sandpit lid being lifted. The sand has got wet, and nasty and needs replacing. GS knows this. It is on my To Do List! I went outside and found him elbow deep in sandy water. I reminded him that the sandpit wasn't for playing in, until we cleaned it and put in new sand. 'Don't worry Grandma, I'm only PRETENDING to play! ' was his swift but baffling answer

We're so proud of Rhys today. He's biked from his house to ours, from one end of the village to the other. He still has his stabilizers on, but he managed the sheer physical effort. We thought he must have needed a lift from his Mummy at halfway, but no he appeared on our drive with Daddy, and he managed to peddle up our steep drive.
His little legs were shaking and he was really wobbly, but even game to suggest they ride back home. But he had a lift back.
Hope he doesn't ache too much tomorrow.
