WeeGranny - not the best summer to be pregnant. My DS2 was born in April 75, and that was a hot summer too. I remember an older neighbour being quite scandalised that I was out in the garden in my (very tight!) bikini with all the post-baby flab and wrinkles! I'm sure you caused a sensation at Beer!

I remember that summer , my DD was 3 and myself and my sister and her 3 children walked miles to the beach every day with big silver cross prams so the children who were between 1-5 wouldn’t be tired they could ride all the way there and back , plus we packed food ,buckets and spades etc in the baskets at the bottom .

so many lovely memories , the water shortages were a worry but we all managed didn’t we
