    Hilary Lister, from Kent, became the first quadriplegic sailor to cross the English Channel. She achieved this by using controls powered by her breath to navigate her boat and made the crossing in six hours thirteen minutes.

      Now that is a achievement, it’s hard being able bodied never mind quadriplegic.

            Talking to B about this last night , we agreed we wouldn’t be brave enough to do that at any time never mind when you have that disability, shows the courage and determination some people have , I so admire her .

                              Also very poor roads, I suppose. Some of them would just be cart tracks, some cobbles. There weren't any tarmac roads in 1900.
