Hopefully finished my shopping, even filled the car up with petrol. Had lunch in local pub with GD1 and H yesterday, my DD and Sil joined us. The pubs/restaurants in the village are very expensive, we like a pub just out of the village which is more suitable for children but not such a fancy menu GD1’s OH and H have just put my tree up and dressed it so I am beginning to look Christmassy.

Daisy, I hope you and your OH are on the mend. Stay in one temperature drink plenty.

Gemini, I hope you find your sister well.

Oma, I hope I don’t have to go to any shops now. Had my last delivery and DD has one tomorrow, I have stuck a few things on there. I do hope your MIL will see sense and realise she needs more on the spot care but “pigs might fly” I get the impression that she expects to stay at home. If that is the case she needs someone to live-in.

Plant, your lunch outing sounds lovely, and great that. you've got your Christmas tree up and decorated. Ours is still in the loft! It's a nice feeling when you know you've done all the shopping you could possibly need and haven't got to fight through the crowds like Oma had to do this morning.

You're right about staying in one temperature. I went out into the garden with Eva this morning and it wasn't a sensible thing to do!

Daisy, you really need to be tucked up doing nothing, not taking care of poorly OH and preparing for Christmas! I'm relieved to hear we don't need to send the ambulance out anyway!
        Take care xxx

You will be Christmassy now your tree is up Plant.

The Christmas cake is iced, choc krispie buns made and OH's presents wrapped. I was going to steam the hard floors, but decided tomorrow morning will do! They do get grubby with the cats in and out in this weather so must be done before tomorrow's visitors.

Well our afternoon didn't go as planned ,
Phone call from hospital come and collect MIL she's coming home,
So off we went calling in the shop on the way to get her ready meals and dessert for tea time,
Has to wait for meds, got her home and on the oxygen, she's fine .
She did have a few tears apparently this morning when the Dr came round as she was worried she wouldn't get to our DDs for Christmas day,
Dr said as long as she is sensible and uses her oxygen till then she should be ok.
SIL1 is ringing the services in the morning to try get a portable oxygen bottle for Christmas day.

Made sure she had her meal in the oven before we came home,
Honestly we don't know if we are coming or going .

You really must work with your body , if it's telling you to rest or sleep do it
Or yes we WILL send a ambulance for you 😁♥️
Remember I'm a expert with ambulances now 🤣🤣

OH and I have listened to the very good advice and done nothing much today. We've slept and sat in the living room chatting, and had left over soup for lunch. I've offered to make dinner, although neither of us has much appetite. I'm going to bake two small portions of salmon and do peas, carrots and spinach.

Nanto, well done on getting your baking done. I'm hoping I may be able to do some tomorrow - or Tuesday - or Wednesday. We'll see. Are you pleased with your decorations?

Gem, it's impossible to keep hard floors clean in this weather when you've got pets. I put a dog towel down by our back door but it's surprising how often Eva manages to negotiate round it. Luckily our kitchen floor is highly patterned and doesn't show marks too badly.

Oma, I do hope MIL is ok and follows doctor's instructions to the letter. Perhaps the thought of missing Christmas dinner at your DD's will help her to be sensible with her oxygen.

                      Good luck Oma!!!!

                      Good morning ladies

I hope you and OH are feeling better Daisy, take it easy though.

My car goes in for its MOT and service today. Not the best time to have to do this, but the tax runs out on 31st and MOT due a few days later so best to get it done. I have decided to just tax it for 6 months this time, then the annual tax will be the summer from then on. Tax and MOT around Christmas is no fun!

Friends J and M are coming for lunch. We are having a buffet. They aren't coming to our New Years Eve do this year so we wanted to have them round at some point.
Tonight we are going to friends in the village for drinks and nibbles, so a sociable day! We will hopefully be collecting my car at some point between socialising.

Don't forget the Advent calendar, not many days left

Well we got to M&S for 7.45and there was at least 50+ people queuing outside,
Staff on the door were using the one out one in system,
No way were we waiting in a queue that long we turned around and went to Iceland ,
                            It was empty in there.

I hope the car passes it's MOT and you don't have to pull more money out after getting the tyres changed,
Enjoy your day with your friends and your drinks and nibbles tonight.

I don't blame you for leaving M&S Oma.

My car passed its MOT (It wouldn't have done without the new tyres!) All good on the service too so it lives to serve me another few years hopefully.
We had a nice lunch and afternoon with our friends and made it to the garage before the 5pm closing.
