I'm a bit late for Good Thursday morning, but I hope everyone is ok.

I hope to catch up tonight. We have had an utterly chaotic morning, which I'll write about later. I don't know what time GDs' mum and dad will collect them and Cooper, but they will also take Eva for her usual sleepover before my hospital appointment today.

GD2 is watching a film, and GD1 is making a fabric pencil case. We've been cutting zips out of three old handbags I was about to throw away - she's very good at recycling, reusing and making something out of nothing!

Oma, I do hope B's blood test sorts out the problem. As always I suppose it's a balancing act between various drugs for different purposes.

Nanto, the corned beef mash sounds tasty and great for a day like today which is going from sunshine to downpours in seconds, and is a lot colder.

Quiet here today after the invasion of GC yesterday. I am waiting for a delivery from COOK. Bit chilly but we do have sunshine, my cardigan is on and off.

Gemini, Pleased to hear you have some relief from the pain after your massage. I am sure GS2 and 3 have kept you busy.

Nanto, I have never had corned beef hash but I do like corned beef, haven’t had it for ages.

Oma I hope B is feeling better, has he had a result from the blood test. I have lost touch a bit, not sure if he has had it yet. Your Mil would try the patience of a saint. I presume she has got away with her bad behaviour for a long time although you and B do tell her straight.

Daisy GD2 likes to be busy with her fingers, I hope you find the right size zip for her. GD would love to get into my spare room, I have loads of fabric etc. Good luck with your trip to the hospital tomorrow.

B had his bloods done then the nurse got him in to see the Dr ,
He had taken a water sample , Dr did a dip test said it was a bad water infection but thankfully no sign of blood so he doesn't think the infection has effected his Kidneys ,
Gave him strong antibiotics in powder form as apparently they work quicker.

Just got to wait for blood results for the tablets see if they have done any damage.

It has been a strange day hasn't it , sunshine then heavy rain but stuffy at the same time.

The girls are talented , it's good to hear youngsters recycling things .

Did the boys have a good day , did you go out anywhere?

My Great niece passed her charted accounting exams , received her results today,
My Niece her mother is a partner of a chartered accountants firm and GN has been working there while she studied,

She is also a sports physiotherapist and nutritionist, did 3 years in University and changed her career completely.

Daisy, your GD1 is so good at making things isnt she? It must be lovely.

Poor B, I hope those antibiotics work fast Oma. Well done to your great niece.

I had a good day with the boys. Jigsaws, shops, and riotous hide and seek were amongst the many games they enjoyed together. Both were also surprisingly very entertained by our new remote controlled kitchen blinds
I took them to Costa in the village for lunch, as both love the toasties there. Our afternoon plan of collecting fallen apples from the back garden was thwarted by the heavens opening again

We decided to have Chinese for tea once the GSs had been collected. OH is on her way to pick it up now.

Hope the antibiotics kick in quickly for B.

Daisy, your GD sounds very talented.

Gem, i bet the boys have really enjoyed their day.

                    Good morning ladies.

Only plans for us today is hubby being out for his usual Friday meet up.

I'll just take the day as it comes.

Dinner is homemade chicken, leek and mushroom pie, chips and probably mushy peas.

                      Good morning everyone.

Nan2 I love a chicken pie, especially home made! Chicken and leek or chicken and mushroom.

Aqua again this morning. This instructor is the one responsible for setting my hip off two weeks ago! I almost cancelled today's class but have decided to go and strictly ignore any risky moves!

OH has golf, and back there for a meal tonight .
No GS2 as he was here yesterday so a free day for me. So I may as well go to my class but be cautious .
I have no afternoon plans, I will go with the flow

Home made pies are always better especially chicken pies,
You say you have no plans but I bet you get visitors 😁

We are taking MIL shopping at 12 hopefully she's in a good mood.

I have just put the dressing gowns in the wash to freshen them,
We haven't been using them as it's been warm so they have just hung on the back of the cupboard door in our bedroom ,

Nothing much to do this morning so I had a long shower, usually it's in and out as we have things to do ,
It's only a Sunday I get to take a long shower so it made a nice change this morning.

Did a bit of housework, then decided to cut the grass.
About ½ an hour after i finished, the heavens opened.
Hubby got home just in time or he would have got wet,he had gone on the quad instead of taking the car.
I've just had a lovely shower,my batteries are recharged now.
Hubby's pal has sent some baking apples. I'll prepare them in the morning for the freezer.

Nanto, There seems to be a lot of fruit this year, our plums have been amazing and apple trees full of fruit. Do you ride the Quad? We had heavy rain yesterday.

Oma, good luck with Mil, I know you will not put up with her rudeness, she had better behave.

Gemini, do be careful at Aqua, I found it gave me backache at times.

I have bought myself a new armchair, one that tips me at the touch of a button, it also has a heater. Fingers crossed it will help my back. I must find a home for surplus chairs. 3 of them are Antique, acquired from Mil.

Daisy, How lovely that your GD likes making things from fabric, it must relax her. I wish I lived closer so that I could pass her some of my needlework items.

Well we are back from shopping , MIL was brilliant ,
No moaning no nasty comments, only thing I was a bit annoyed at was she fancied a Jacket potato but then said no it will use too much gas cooking,
she isn't a poor pensioner she can well afford it but no she would rather deny herself than do that , unbelievable.

We made her bed put her bin back in and I had taken weed killers over to put on the front path and steps but the heavens opened so t will have to wait till next time,

I hope your chair does help, the heater will be good in the winter too to ease it,
I wish Mil would get one ,
What colour did you go for?
Have you a sewing guild near you that could take your needlework stuff Or a hospice?
Ours often ask for craft and sewing stuff.

                              Nanto
Hubby got back just in time then , wouldn't want to be out on a quad bike if the rain was anything like we had 😁

                                Hello everyone.

Nanto, I hope you enjoyed your homemade chicken, leek and mushroom pie. You timed the grass cutting just right. Well done. Same to your OH, just missing the rain. I imagine a quad in a downpour is no fun at all! It's so useful to have cooking apples in the freezer, especially when they're nice and fresh straight off a local tree.

Oma, how funny, I looked at the dressing gowns on our bathroom door and thought the same - but they're still waiting because it's been showery all day. It just shows MIL can behave herself when she so chooses. I suppose if you've had a life time of being frugal/careful it's hard to break the habit. My mum always used to tear open the emptied packets of sugar to get the last few grains out - a habit started when sugar was on rations during the war.

Plant, how lovely to come home to all that fruit on your doorstep. Our plums are still producing like mad, and the tomatoes are doing well, apart from one plant which has blossom end rot. Your new arm chair sounds wonderful, and the heater will make a big difference. We had heaters, and massagers in our last reclining chairs and they were great. Im sure it will help your back. It's also a good idea to have a throw handy as well - for when you get up from the chair all nice and warm and you want to stay that way.

How kind of you to wish you could pass your needlework items on to our GD1. I get her to go through anything I'm sending to the charity shop or recycling to take what she wants. Good suggestions from Oma though. Also the GCSE Textiles syllabus this year has an option for recycling/upcycling/sustainability etc (not sure of the exact title) so it's possible a local comprehensive school might welcome anything you want to pass on. GD1 is lucky - she can afford to buy from charity shops and does get given things, but many pupils can't and would welcome donations.

The hospital trip this morning went well - we were on our way out before 9 am. We went to pick up Eva from GS2's and stayed for a cup of tea - most welcome after such an early start. OH made us a coffee when we got home, and I fell asleep! I woke up to the delicious smell of gammon steaks at lunch time, and still felt too lazy to do much, except send off the dog food order for next week. Sainsbury's are due 7-8pm, so OH is making us a quick sandwich for our tea. I think I'll be ready for an early night, even after having such a lazy day.
