That is kind of you Oma and I'm sure she appreciates it.

Busy days for you at the moment Daisy!

Good news about your knees Lizzie you must feel so relieved .
Such a terrible story about that poor girl.

I got a few things done while GS2 was happily amusing himself this morning.
I made a loaf of bread. I made a big one yesterday so this was for the freezer . I picked up all the fallen apples as GS3 wasn't here yesterday to help! I picked green beans, deadheaded geraniums and hung out a wash load.
We had lunch then went to the library. The cafe there shuts early, so he couldn't get his favourite lemon drizzle cake, so we came home via the bakers.
We have watched TV and played games this afternoon.
He is 'starving' again, so I had better start his tea!

Oma, so many people's lives are ruined by drug-taking. I imagine every drug-taker thinks they won't get hooked, but they do, and like any addiction, stopping is harder than starting. I wonder why/how that lady reached the stage of being homeless and on the streets.

Gem, GS2 must have been pleased you went home via the bakery. That sounds like a very healthy young boy - always starving.

Apart from the washing and making a salad for lunch I haven't done much today. We've got a busy week-end so I thought it was a good time to relax!

        You have been busy,
I bet he was pleased to get his cake 😁

        Daisy
It's sad isn't it , at one time we hardly saw any homeless people but after COVID we seemed to get a lot more.
        Drugs really do ruin lives,
As I said I will help with food but not money.
I often wonder where this lady sleeps on cold wet nights .

Lizzie, how sad about the young girl.
Glad your knee seems to be working again.

Daisy, the ironing did get done.

Its been a dull day today,we did have the odd glimmer of sun,but it was just an odd glimmer.

Good morning, the police have got the murderer of the young girl, a young immigrant, they are put in "centre's" here when they first arrive, he was in the one close to Amsterdam. He had already a few "rapes" that the police were looking into, now this! They want to place a centre here close by, we certainly hope that it doesn't come.

I actually got most of my windows done yesterday and my table and chairs from the balcony down in the shed, the table is getting heavier with each year so I must wait for help next time I want it up here. I still have the bench to I can sit out when I want to.

It is unbelievable how much better I feel now that I can move normally.

Gem, GS2 would enjoy the visit to the bakers.

DS1 and family are settled in their hotel on Times Square, I can see on my phone, I can settle now so won't stalk them all over New York!!

This is a sad story, a lady I have known for years, very, very active, triathlon, always cycling, running etc etc. She told me 7 years ago that she had Parkinson, I see her often at the early morning wait for the Lidl, she has been getting worse this last year, her speech etc etc, very difficult for her, I was talking to her the other morning and she was telling me that this is not living, as I say I could hardly understand her at all, all I could understand was another fortnight so I can only think she has chosen for euthanasia , poor woman and family. Maybe I am wrong but that is what I could make of it.

Oma, the drugs are awful. We don't see any here locally, in fact I am almost sure that begging isn't allowed.

            I have just read this.

Begging is illegal in the Netherlands so you won't see anyone panhandling. Most beggars actually have to either sell a daklozenkrant in front of your local store, or they 'play' an instrument (badly, but its not illegal like begging). You also get these people on the metro who do an organized form of begging. They will give you a xeroxed sob story on a scrap of paper, which they hand out to everyone in the metro car. Seen it on a train too once. Others just beg by asking, but they never stay in one place. You'll see them when you're out drinking, usually. So, like most problems in the Netherlands, out of sight out of mind. There is no begging.

Lizzie, glad they got the murderer.
Sad story about the lady you know.

We are going into town this morning. So, no cooking again.
I could get used to it.

                Morning ladies

                Lizzie
Glad they caught him, these men have no respect for women in their country so won't have any respect in other countries.
Sad about your friend it's a cruel illness.

                Nanto
You could get used to this no cooking malarkey couldn't you 😁

I've been right through downstairs, I was up with the sparrows so got on with it ,
We are taking MILs bacon over about 12 , then I will do my ironing when I get back.

Had a bit trouble with my shoulder the past few days so the Voltarol gel is getting a bashing see if that helps.

I had my hair dyed yesterday just dark brown I'm a bit sick of the red and blond ,
It's getting used to seeing my hair dark again,
I went to clean my teeth before bed last night and when I looked in the bathroom mirror I sort of had a suprise , forgetting it was dark 🤣

                    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, three days no cooking, brilliant!

Daisy, I hope the girls craft stall goes well.

That poor lady Lizzie. One of my aqua friends has Parkinson's but so far she is doing well.

Oma, a new hair colour can take you by surprise like that

Last night we took a leaf out of Nan2's book and had fish and chips.
Today we are going to Go Outdoors for a new camping chair. We have had our ages (we each had one before we met) Mine is now broken and we are going out on a family day on Monday where I will need one.
I looked at them the other day but I don't have the memberships which gives you the discount, OH does, so off we go today!
I will write about the family day elsewhere.

                      Good morning ladies.

Been a busy morning so far. Hubby left about 1½ hours ago,to a car boot with his brother.
I've washed a load of towels, they are on the line.
                      Dishwasher on doing its thing.
Slow cooker doing what it does. I bought enough braising steak for three meals, got that cooking with onions.
We'll have some today with mash and veg. The rest will go in the freezer.

It must be coffee time now.

                        Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto, goodness me, you have been a busy bee this morning. Still it's satisfying to get things done, especially if it gives you time to put your feet up with a well-earned coffee.

Time ran away with me yesterday, so I'm back to trying to catch up with everyone.

Oma, I can imagine how strange it must be to see yourself in the mirror with different coloured hair.

Gem, did you get your new camping chair?

Lizzie, how sad for that poor lady. I'm sure she appreciated you taking the time to try to understand her. I hope dS1 and family are enjoying their holiday in New York.

We spent quite a while at the craft fair yesterday. It got quite hot though, and I felt guilty we'd taken Eva with us. There were bowls of water everywhere for dogs but she's very fussy - a muddy puddle or a freshly filled deep bowl - so she ignored most of them. I think both GDs did well, especially GD1 who sold most of her stock.

A niece and her husband are coming for coffee and lunch today, so I'll have to get a move on! We're only doing a ploughman's, and I made a cake last night. I saw a recipe for a plum drizzle cake so I tried that. I hope it's ok!

Have a good day everyone. xx

                          Good morning everyone.

Nan2, I don't think I look as cheerful as that creature when I do the floors!

This afternoon GS1 and I are going to Vue to see a streaming of the musical Six. I have never seen this, but this will be his 3rd time, and he has the soundtrack!
I have wanted to see it in a theatre but never managed to, so this seemed a good, and cheaper option.

Our posts crossed Daisy. I was chatting and forgot to press Post

Yes, we actually bought two camping chairs, as there was a Get a second half price offer and the other chair is getting old too!
I would be very happy with that lunch and I'm sure your niece will be too

                              Morning Nanto, Ladies.

                              Nanto
I have a washer full of towels at the moment,
Enjoy your meal, I'm ok ish with braising steak as long as it's cooked long and low to make it tender, B loves it but wouldn't be my first choice,

We have a roasting chicken in the oven we will have veg with that tonight.

Usual Sunday for us not going for breakfast this morning with the family so I will just potter get jobs out of the way.

                              Yesterday was stressful with MIL.
She has an appointment with the memory clinic on Tuesday , it's on the calendar.
So I said where is the letter so we can check the time and dept ,
She didn't know so we raked everywhere, no letter to be found .
Then she said it's been cancelled as it's scratched off on the calendar.

So I rang his older sister , she said she didn't know and hadn't seen any cancellation letters,
So I rang his other sister,
She said a chiropodist appointment had been cancelled that day as it clashed but she didn't know where she had to go or what time as she hadn't seen the letter.
As it was Saturday I knew the clinic wouldn't be on but I rang the hospital to find out what dept it was ,only to be told it's in a completely different hospital.
So she gave me the number to ring on Tuesday morning to confirm the appointment and what time,
                              We think it's at 2.15.
With it being a bank holiday I can't ring tomorrow.
She has phone bills, letters from previous appointments etc going back years but has no idea where this letter was.
She has no idea who scratched it off the calendar, I had seen it last week so it's within this week it's been done .

Then she waited till we had our coats and shoes on to say she wanted her deep fat fryer cleaning out as it's not getting used,
B said I will do it Tuesday when I come , then she said it's ok I will try myself ,
Well we were not letting her do that so B had to set too and clean it.

Carer came while we were there , she told her not to stop she didn't need her, so I said to the girl just go and report back, if they have anything to say tell them I'm your witness as they have a QR code on MIL notes that has to be scanned in and out to prove they have been for the allocated time.

I'm dreading Tuesday , then again Thursday when we take her shopping.
