    Morning Nanto,ladies

It's very stuffy but we had some strong winds during the night.
    And what a night ,
Between me coughing then I got foot cramp that wouldn't ease, the blinds rattling because the windows were open, then just as we settled down again there must have been a police chase up on the highway that is just behind our house ,
Police sirens blaring for what seemed ages and to top it all the police helicopter was hovering just above the house.
So all in all a less than good sleep,

I don't think B is looking forward to our IKEA visit this morning but he's not saying anything yet 😁

    Hope everyone is well,
Gem I bet you need the rest today 😁xx

      Good Tuesday morning everyone.

Gem, having a free day will give you chance to adjust to the change in time. Don't worry about keeping up on here - this is a one-off holiday for you and S. See as much as you can, and we'll all enjoy reading about it on your holiday thread. (No pressure!!!)

Nanto, I hope the skirts are ok now. Are they summer ones? It sounds as though dinner is sorted as well. My Auntie had a Singer sewing machine like the one in your graphic. Then she had an electric motor added to it. She was a brilliant needlewoman and her machine was in constant use.

Oma, it's not surprising you didn't get much sleep last night with all that going on. Things like sirens and helicopters sound so much louder at night as well. I wonder what had happened. How is your cough today? Poor B, we can't even say he'll love IKEA when he gets there, because we all know he won't. You'll have to treat him to a nice lunch or something. Are you going for anything in particular or just stocking up on napkins?

OH has taken my car for its MOT this morning. I hope it passes! My GS2 and his girlfriend have both got shocking colds. His other Gran took him to A&E last night as he couldn't breathe. They said it's a chest infection - he sounds really poorly, and his Mum is in Portugal on holiday at the moment, so the boys are on their own. I hope GS1 doesn't catch it as well. Luckily their other Gran only lives about a mile away, so she'll keep an eye on him, and make sure the cat and dog are fed. Bailey will be having daily walks with the dog walker, who he adores. DIL1 says it was 33C in Portugal yesterday and it was unbearable.

I've got a phone appointment with the Consultant at lunch time, so I'll let you all know how that goes.

Well he survived IKEA but moaned it was a waste of time ,
        I only got my Napkins.
I was looking to see if they had any TV corner units in and I need a small thin table to go down the side of my chair ,
They had neither so he wasn't happy I had made him go all around the store😁

        Daisy
I hope the car passes its test,
Poor GS , just as well his other Gran was on hand ,
My chest is hurting and my ribs but I think it's only all the coughing I'm doing,
It's the kind of cough once it starts you can't stop it till you wretch.
Always worse on a night as these things do don't they.

Did he get antibiotics to help Or a inhaler ?
Poor lad especially as Mum is away , boys need their Mum's when they are poorly .
Hope the phone appointment goes well .

Oma, poor B, but he can't complain you only went for napkins when you gave him a complete tour of the store. I'm sorry you didn't find what you wanted though. All that coughing must make your chest and ribs very sore - you want to stop because it hurts, but just can't. I hope tonight is more peaceful for you to get some sleep.

I think GS2 got antibiotics - not sure. He suffers very badly from hayfever as well, and I remember it being particularly bad this time last year. I think both the boys have missed their Mum - even GS1 who is very independent is missing her.

I'll write about the call with the doctor in my YEO thread.

It is warm here today, 35 degrees forecast later on in the week.

I went to the gym this morning for a new schedule, we can get them done a few times a year, some do it monthly , I have to get used to one before they change it!

Then I went to DS1 to take a suitcase for GD1 to take to Spain with her, their cases are in my garage so handy to take it today, plus the slacks I had finished for her.

I thought I had a problem with camera on my new iPhone, "no nan, you have pressed a wrong button"!

Oma, B must love Ikea as much as I do!!

Daisy, your poor GS, that sounds like the infection I had, I couldn't breath or speak, I was telling my DB, he said "that is hard to believe"! I must have been a chatterbox in my early years!!

My doctor said I must have grown out of the hay fever , it made me so ill at times, I did see DS1 had bother with his eyes today. Flowers and scents still affect me, not as much the tree pollen now, a good thing as well with all the pollen on my balcony!

I have to go to the town hall tomorrow for an ID card, did I say that the last time I returned home from the UK I had problems proving I had the Dutch nationality? DS1 has a British passport as well, he has the same problem. I told the customs I have the Dutch driving license, that is no proof, anyone can get one of those

Oma, Poor B, grand tour of Ikea and nothing except napkins bought. Sorry to read you still have that nasty cough it is so wearing. What a dreadful disturbed night.

Nanto, I hope the skirts were okay.

Daisy, sorry to read your GS has been so poorly especially whilst his mum is away. I hope your car passes its test.

I have been watching tennis most of the day, very exciting. I knocked my knee yesterday and it is quite painful when I walk so I have been pleased to watch the tennis.

Pretty flowers Lizzie. I'm glad they believed you were legally Dutch in the end!

Tennis viewing is a good idea to rest that knee Plant.

Lovely and sunny and warm here.

Daisy, the skirts are fine thank you.
They are what i call going out skirts,so i wear them anytime, when i don't want to wear trousers.
I hope you GS feels better soon.
                    Hope the car passed.

                    Lizzie,those flowers are lovely.

Oma, has B got over his trek round Ikea.

I'm going to get my jobs done before it gets too warm.

Dinner is salad with southern fried breaded chicken.

                          Morning Nanto,ladies.
Its a bit dull but so warm,
Just going to the farm shop and M&S this morning,

I somehow have cricked my neck so I can't turn my head ,
I feel like Old movie monsters who couldn't turn heads either 😁.
Just something else to add to the list,
I let the hot water from the shower pummel it this morning hopefully it's helped .

                          Nanto
Your graphic reminds me of the lovely pansy and violas I used to grow in my other garden from seed ,
                          Always lovely show,
They don't survive in this garden , the tree spiders and snails just won't leave them alone, no matter what I try.

                          Plant
How is your knee today, is there any swelling and bruising?
Try not to do too much let it rest xx

                          Lizzie
What a faff on with your ID but it's a must have isn't it.
Flowers look lovely , I bet they make you smile when you see them😁

                          Daisy
Have you heard how GS is today, has he taken time off work ?
I hope so he needs to recover a little before thinking of work.
                          How do you feel today?

Well B solved the mystery of my stiff painful neck.
Yesterday when we went to IKEA I didn't get a trolly , I just used one of those big yellow bags,
I had slung it onto my shoulder and I had said to B my god this is heavy it's hurting my shoulder ,
Obviously it's pulled the neck muscles so mystery solved 😁

                                Good Wednesday afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, bird, butterflies and flowers - lovely. You were wise to get jobs done before it got too hot. I like the idea of going out clothes, and when I thought about it, I have some things I don't wear around the house but save for looking a bit smarter when I go out.

Oma, your poor neck. I hope it's feeling better. Have you got one of those heated collar that you put in the oven or microwave? My OH has been complaining of a stiff neck for a couple of days and he's found one of those heated collars very relaxing and his neck is much less painful.

Plant, I hope your knee is feeling better today. Take care. xx. Are you enjoying the tennis? We watched a couple of matches from Queens and were amazed at how the stadium has grown since we went there many years ago. It's become a much bigger event.

Gem, I'm sure you will take many happy memories for your time in Banff. Enjoy the train journey.

Lizzie, what a glorious pot of flowers. They look fantastic. I hope you got your ID card ok. It must be very frustrating to have border staff querying a legitimate passport or official document like that. Is your new gym routine very different?

GS2 has got antibiotics, but GS1 has now caught the infection as well. Their Mum is due back at the week-end, and we've decided she needs full PPE and to go in to the house armed with Anti-bac spray, wipes and anything else she can think of! GS2 isn't fit to go to work, but not sure what GS1 is doing. He really hates taking time off.

We have had an incredibly lazy day today. Neither of us felt like doing much, and at the moment too much heat is bad for me. We've got all the windows open - there is a bit of a breeze - but somewhere nearby chain saws and wood chippers are so noisy we can hardly hear ourselves think. I think someone must be chopping half the New Forest up, and I thought trees shouldn't be lopped or cut down while birds are still nesting.
