Plant you are a very good GGM to go to those noisy places I hope you have warmed up now.

Dismal here as well Nan2, I was happy to be staying inside.

Daisy I agree, by this time of year, Christmas and new year long gone, we are all very ready for spring.

Our friend enjoyed her lunch very much. We all did
She is always very grateful. We tell her ( and it's true) that it's no more trouble to cook for 3 than 2, and we enjoy her company. She has Parkinson's and evenings are not the best time for her, so an invitation like today is ideal.

I know some things are popping through but. I'm not sure what till I can get to them.
Those play areas are cold , the little ones don't mind but when your sitting in those big warehouse type places the cold seems to go through you doesn't it .

      I potted on this afternoon,
Washed all the towels and then the dogs bed ,
I then went to clean the bathroom and took the shower curtains down and washed. Them ,
Being a wet room they are very long and wide and weighted at the bottom but wash very well.

I need to go see the nurse in the morning my Diabetes strip tester machine isn't working well ,
I need to get a new one .Tonight it took ages to sort.

Good morning, I will get caught up on the news, Oma, do you ever relax?

I went on the bike to DS1 yesterday and I saw that the snowdrops spelling "spring" are all open!

They have decorated the hall, very nice it is as well. I then went to a shop and bought lighter clothes hangers, I came home and started changing the wooden ones, so much handier, so, off I went again in the cold and got some more, now my wardrobe is very neat and I have ??????s of wooden hangers to get rid of, most charity shops won't accept them so I will see what I do with them.

I ordered GD1 some jeans, 38 inch inside leg, she is so pleased with them, she has discovered the site herself and ordered another model. GS was saying he was looking for jeans in New York recently, he needs 36 inch, the store said that they could "maybe" try and order some for him, he told them he was returning home so that wouldn't work, apparently not many tall people in the USA!!!

GD2 will be 16 in a fortnights time, time flies.

`I went to the gym yesterday morning, the young trainer was planning his boot camp route, I saw that he was using the park down from me, I told him I lived there and would give him a wave, I stood filming as they arrived and all 20 of them stood waving to me!! It felt like my birthday.

Aqua this afternoon, coffee at the office first.

I hope the kittens are improving Gem and back to normal.

Good morning Lizzie and all who follow.
I've got an image in my mind of all the people waving to you.

No plans for us, will just take the day as it comes.

I think I'm doing chicken goujons for dinner. Might do some sliced potatoes and peas with them.

            Good morning everyone.

Lizzie, you were like a celebrity

Nan2 do you always know what you are eating for your main meal each day when you get up? Sometimes I do and other times no idea!

I hope you get a new machine Oma.

Aqua this morning then coffee. One of our friends will be MIA for over 6 weeks but hopefully the other two will be free.
No other plans. I had a reflexology appointment booked this afternoon but we have moved this to tomorrow as the therapist has to take her dad to a hospital appointment today.

            Have a good week everyone.

              Good Monday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, I can imagine you on your balcony waving to all those people. How lovely.

Plant, it's a nice surprise when you find little spring flowers doing their thing in this awful weather, isn't it. I hope you can have a proper look round your garden soon.

Gem, I hope your reflexologist's dad is ok. Have fun at aqua. It must be good to relax over a nice hot coffee afterwards. How are the kittens? Can you leave them on their own for a while now?

Nanto, I topped a casserole at the weekend with thinly sliced potatoes and browned it in the oven. It was very nice. My mum used to shallow fry sliced potatoes sometimes - we called them smacks. No idea why.

Oma, I hope there's no problem with getting a new test machine today. How are you both?

Lizzie, we have a village WhatsAp group where people can put a photo of things they are happy to give away, and most things get snapped up very quickly. The rules of the group are that no money must change hands and no money can be made from selling them on. You can also borrow or lend items as well. Last week one lady asked if she could borrow an armchair with a high seat while she was coping with a broken ankle, and sure enough someone lent her one. It's a lovely community facility, and I can imagine if someone put wooden hangers on they would be snapped up immediately.

No plans for us today, although plenty of jobs to do if I get round to them!

                Morning ladies

                Lizzie
All you needed was the red carpet and paparazzi, bet everyone was wondering who they were waving at 😁

                Gem
How are the kittens, is Poppy any better. ?
                Enjoy your Aqua.

                Nanto
My GSs girlfriend loves chicken goujons , a firm favourite for her if we are doing GS steak as she doesn't eat beef.

I have been for my new machine , got home and it's totally different from my usual one so I had to ring and order new test strips and lancets,
I'm now left with a box of old lancets and strips that the chemist won't accept back.
I will just have to put the lancets in my sharps box and dispose of the strips.

B has an appointment for 11 about his chest again.

I was talking to my SIL last night my late brother's wife , she slipped off the bottom stair last week and pulled both hamstrings, she's in agony, on top of that she has a chest infection and water infection so feeling rubbish , nothing keeps her down though , She still goes dancing almost every night , although not till her legs heel she's 76 this year and mad as a box of frogs , 😁

A dark wet day again and quite cold out.

                Daisy
                our posts crossed,
That sounds a really good idea about the village whatsApp , just shows how kind people can be.

Daisy, kittens doing very well thank you. We are trying to be with them for the next few days if possible. It's mainly the fear of Moses instigating a boisterous play fight and Poppy's scar being damaged.
That sounds a good WhatsApp group.
My Monday aqua class starts 20 minutes after the Wednesday one. I was ready to leave when I realised it was Monday

I have just been up to give the bedrooms a good clean and the bathroom,
Emptied the bathroom cupboards two of them , cleaned the shelves and threw out half bottles of stuff that never gets used ,
I have a tall free standing cupboard on my landing I keep the towels and bedding in ,
That got a declutter too . I also have a shelf with spare sponges , cleaners etc .
Sometimes random things get put in there , B has a habit if he doesn't know where it goes bung it in that cupboard .
I really must sort my clothes and shoes to go to the charity, I'm going to be ruthless.
Anything I haven't worn in the last 6 months is going , that means half my wardrobe and nearly all my shoes and sandals,
It's just getting the energy up to do it .

Daisy, we do have something like that here, all for free I think it is called, I will give it a try, the neighbours I went to aqua with took quite a few!

It is sooooo cold at the moment.

Very late reporting in, tummy a bit upset, no sickness just tummy ache. I have to pick up a friend tomorrow, I shall see how I feel. It is also the morning for my new cleaner.

I hope it passes soon Plant.

I have been doing some clearing out this afternoon too Oma.
A box from my last house (I have been here 14 years) It included a collection of theatre programmes from when my ex worked at the theatre in East Grinstead in 1976, some signed inside by the cast. He is having those, and I will just keep one. I found a lovely letter my then 11 year old DD3 wrote to JK Rowling from herself and her then and still best friend. It included a couple of photos of the girls The envelope was unaddressed and it was opened so never sent. Presumably they didn't have an address! I will give that to DD on Thursday.

Gem, i always try to think what we are having for dinner the day before,in case i need something out of the freezer.

Daisy, the whats app group sounds very helpful.
We have a family whats app group.

Plant, hope you feel better tomorrow.

Oma, glad you got a new machine, even if it is different.
                            Hope B's appointment went well.

Been cold, dark and dismal again today.

Oma, how did B get on at the doctor's? I hope he's ok. Well done on all that clearing out. You must be getting your energy back. Oma, at least B bungs things out of sight and doesn't just drop them on the nearest flat surface to live there for ever more (or until I get fed up with dusting whatever it is). What a nuisance the new machine can't use your old test strips and lancets. If you've still got them it might be worth ringing a local dog rescue to see if they can use them if they have any diabetic dogs. I could do with you coming down and being ruthless with my wardrobe as well, please!

Gem, you've done well with your clearing out as well. Your DD will be so surprised to see the letter she and her friend wrote to JK Rowling. I suppose it's not really an option to put one of the kittens in a different room, they sound very well bonded and they wouldn't be happy.

Nanto, same here, cold, dark and dismal. I was speaking to my Sister in Law in North Wales this morning and she says she can't remember when they last saw the sun. I know how she feels. I try to remember to get things out of the freezer the night before, but usually forget, so end up making something else for dinner. Yes, the WhatsApp groups in our village seem to work very well, and are really useful.

Plant, poor you. It's horrible feeling like that. I wonder if it was because you got so chilled at the play barn? I think when you get cold right to your bones it can make you feel quite poorly. I hope you're ok now. Sending hugs. xx

                                Good morning.

Plant hope you are feeling better this morning.

Well done Oma and Gem for having a clear out.
I had a clear out of the bedding a few days ago. In fact I'm taking them to the collection thingy outside the post office this morning.
I never really liked fitted sheets, always preferred flat sheets.
But, I have replaced all the sheets with fitted ones, must admit they make bed making easier.

Don't think we will see any sun today. Forgot what it looks like.

Nothing planned for me today, hubby out for a couple of hours later.

Dinner is homemade steak and onion pie, root mash, veg and gravy.
