    Good Friday morning, everyone.

I've got a bit of catching up to do, but thought I'd just say 'hello', as I might be out later.

It's dull and rather chilly here, but at least it's not raining, so hopefully it won't be too bad a journey for our niece driving home.

Lizzie, it's surprising how different plants can affect us, but you must be relieved you've sussed that one out. What a shock to be woken up to all that noise and activity. It's very sad.

Gem, a busy day, but no cooking, is a good day! I hope it all goes to plan.

Plant, hopefully it is just the battery. We had to have a new one on my car a couple of weeks ago, but they seem to suffer if you're not doing any great distance in the car. It's unusual for your house to be quiet!

Oma, we can put things like packaging out for the binmen to take. They were pretty busy just after Christmas, as you can imagine. Yes, thank you, J was ok. It's always sad to loose a member of the family but Dai had become very frail and he missed his wife (J's sister) so much I don't think he had the will to fight.

Daisy, glad all went well at the funeral.

Plant, is your car sorted now.

According to the forecast it's going to be cooler today in our neck of the woods.

We are going into town for a few bits. Also need something that's gluten free, for when sis in law comes.
Might have to go in the supermarket, there's more choice there.

        Good morning everyone.

Funerals are always sad Daisy, but It does sound as though Dai was ready to go.

I hope you find the gluten free things you need Nan2.

It was quite a party atmosphere here at teatime yesterday! DD , SIL and GS3, GS2, OH and I all had fish and chips. DD2 arrived to collect GS2 so sat at the table with us and had a cuppa and a few chips

DD3 has a work event in the park this morning. She has just left and we will go along with SIL and little E later to see what's going on. We wouldn't willingly go to an outdoor event in January, but you have to support family

          Morning ladies

          Plant
Was it the battery in your car? Hope it's up and running now.

          Gem
You had a right get together didn't you 😁
Hope it's not too cold in the park today.

          Nanto
I think the supermarket is the best bet for gluten free,

It's a hard frost again today , very cold.
I was up early so I did a blitz downstairs then we went to M&S for fruit and B fancies one of their Currys for tea.
Doesn't feel like making one and I must admit. They are tasty.
For once I have no washing or ironing to do, I will buy tomorrow but today I'm free of it 😃

            Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, there's so much more choice now for gluten-free foods. You can get almost anything in a big supermarket. I keep a few bits like brioche rolls and some kind of cake in the freezer, and GF biscuits for emergencies. I hope you find what you want.

Gem, what a brilliant teatime party you had. All the better for being slightly unplanned. I hope DD3's work event goes well and it isn't too cold. I'm sure you will all enjoy it.

Oma, curry is such a good standy isn't it! I made a huge one this week and there was enough left for me and OH last night.

No specific plans for us today, except changing the bed and doing a bit of washing. I'm getting low on birdseed for the feeders so might pop down to the garden centre and have a nose round.

Just been out to lunch with GD1, her OH and H. Had to wait a long time for food but we enjoyed it, had free puddings as we had to wait so long.

Oma, Love a curry but don’t very often make it from scratch now. Yes it was the battery that needed replacing in my car, all fixed now. Had an appt. To pick up a hearing aid, a replacement for one I had lost. DD drove my car to give it a run.

Daisy, I have filled my bird feeder, the birds do not seem very interested.

Gemini, that sounds like a very nice family time.

Plant, free pud does make waiting seem not quite as bad I suppose!

Daisy, did you get the bird seed, and did anything else tempt you?

Oma it must be a lot colder there than where we are. DD3 was pleasantly surprised that she didn't have to defrost the car.

The event in the park was lovely ( and would have been much more so in summer!) A local folk singer who is very good, free and seats and warm blankets were supplied, and a tea and coffee wagon came along as there is no cafe in the park yet. I was surprised how many people did turn on a cold January morning, so I think it was a success. It's part of an initiative to get more people to use the park for different events.
We were warmly dressed but my feet were very cold by the end!
Little E was an angel, and kept his brand new glasses on all the time He's starting a cold so I hope it doesn't get much worse.
We have spent the afternoon at home in the warm. We are going to an Italian restaurant with friends tonight .

                  Gem, enjoy your meal out.
Aww little E, keeping his glasses on,bless him.
Glad you enjoyed the event in the park.

                  Plant,can't beat a free pudding.

Managed to get what we needed in town.
Even managed to get some gluten free chocolate biscuits, they look similar to kit kats.
Got some gluten free plain biscuits as well.

Nanto, on the subject of gluten-free biscuits my GDs love Sainsbury's double chocolate chip GF cookies. They do taste like ordinary ones, but slightly less sweet.

Plant, thank goodness it wasn't anything more serious than the battery with your car. I've had a few days recently where the bird feeders have been very quiet. They attract mostly gold finches, greenfinches and blue tits. The ground feeders make the most of what gets spilt! Yesterday OH spotted a long tailed tit on the rose bush in the front garden - first time we've seen one in our garden.

Gem, what a lovely outing for you all this morning. It must be interesting trying to encourage greater use of the park. My DIL1 is involved with a similar project for their local council. Sometimes people just need a bit of encouragement, don't they. Well done to little E keeping his glasses on. Perhaps his eyes feel more relaxed, and he likes the improved vision they give him. Well done, little man.

It was cold and dull, but not raining today so we had an early lunch and then went to the garden centre to get sunflower seeds - but they only had small bags. I also got a birthday card and a couple of pots of lovely healthy primulas - one to take to DIL's tomorrow and the other a little 'thank. you' to the friends who let us take Eva to their paddock. We usually get them something for Christmas but they were away this year, and everywhere was flooded around New Year. We went on to the paddock, left the plant on their doorstep and gave Eva a good run. She was tired when we got home, but by 8 o'clock she was asking for a walk!

                      Feels colder this morning.

Daisy, I usually get some gluten free things from Asda, but I forgot to get them in my last order. She's just finished the chocolate chip cookies I had,and she said they were nice.
We are going to the garden centre next week. I need a few birthday cards. I could have got some in town yesterday, but sometimes I can get some really nice ones at the garden centre.

I have some large slices of braising steak, so I'm going to cook it all in the slow cooker with onions and mushrooms.
We'll have some today with mash and veg.
The rest will be portioned up for the freezer.

Neither of us have any plans for today, we'll just see how the day goes.

                        Morning Nanto/ ladies

Nanto we think alike we had braising steak with onions on Friday,
I'm not a lover of steak as you know but it tastes and feels different in the slow cooker much more tender I think.
I know what you mean about the cards, our garden centre sells some lovely ones , a bit expensive for some but special occasions are worth it.

                        Gem
I would love to see a picture of E in his glasses I bet he looks so cute.
I always think it must be a nightmare keeping little fingers off the lenses😬

                        Plant
                        Pleased the car is sorted,
I think it was only right you got free pud for the wait, it would have tasted all the better being for free😃

                        Daisy
What Eva wants Eva gets it's the same in our house ,
When storm wants a walk you have to go or get pestered constantly.
I bet it was a nice surprise for your paddock friends finding that on the doorstep.

Yet again we have a hard frost , everything is white and it sparkles like diamonds in the light.
Very pretty but not good to walk on.
I watched my neighbour going to the gym early this morning he was taking baby steps all down the road ,

                          Good morning everyone.

No plans for us either Nan2,

Oma, I will get a photo of E in his glasses on Thursday. He is very proud of his glasses case. Keeps unzipping it, taking out his cleaning cloth, wiping the lenses whilst wearing the glasses, then putting the cloth away
                          No frost here, just damp.

                            Good Sunday morning, everyone.

It's cold here but at least it's dry. We're going to DIL1's today for GS2's birthday so as usual I'm rushing round. Eva has had her walk - she'll sleep in the car.

                            Have a good day everyone.

                            xx

Daisy have a lovely day with the family celebrating GD2’s birthday.

Oma, no frost here today but very dull. I hope all is quiet next door. I don’t eat beef very often but still enjoy a beef casserole.

Nanto, don’t look for things, have a relaxing day.

I wish they were showing the tennis on the channels I have. I would love an afternoon watching it.
