Good morning. A bit cloudy but its dry, so that's a bonus.

Welcome home Gem, good to hear Daisy is ok. Pity about the rain.

Lizzie, an emotional day for you yesterday.

Remember the accident in July near us, where six people got killed, its the funeral today for the family that were in the car.

We are going to the farm shop today, then on to the garden centre, want a few bits from their shop, and we will eat there.

    Have a good day ladies.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Nan2, that would be a very sad funeral.

Tesco is coming between 11 and 12 and I think we are going over to DD3's later. They have just got back from a holiday in Scotland.DD says GS3 has been missing us, and we have him too of course!

No rain forecast so now to get on with the holiday washing!

        Morning everyone
        Dry and bright today here,
I have just been out and wiped the door frames and window ledge and it’s quite mild.
I may get the garden finished as we were stopped by hailstones on Thursday and had dog yesterday plus it was too damn cold for me.

        Gem
Did you sleep well your first night back?
I bet GS is happy to see you both.
Pleased despite the weather Daisy is having a nice time.

        Nanto
        Enjoy your lunch out,
What a sad time for that family so sad .

I think DD is coming today I’m not sure.
MIL was in a good mood last night , she had sat in the chair all day , a big improvement as in hospital all she wanted to do was lie in bed.
I took a nice throw in for her to put over her knees while she is sitting , she has her dressing gown but I don’t think that’s enough.

Not doing too well this morning, managed a shower but everything an effort. GS said a broken bone in my upper back might take 6/8 weeks to heal. Must go and get some lunch. Sorry didn’t get back on here, very sleepy today.

OMA, pleased to hear Mil is co-operating a bit more and sounds happier

Plant these things do take time. Every day is one step forward in your recovery, try to think of that xxx

It sounds as though MIL is getting on better now Oma.
We slept fine last night thanks. We both woke early though, probably still an hour ahead on Spanish time!

We had a lovely afternoon at DD3's, and really nice meal with them. GS was of course adorable and very happy to see us
It's been a fine day with sun in the afternoon. We got most of the holiday washing done and sat outside for quite a while at DD's.

                Good morning.

Plant, each day is a day nearer to getting better.

Hubby just gone to pick up his brother, they are going to a car boot sale.

We didn't get to the farm shop and garden centre yesterday.
Hubby was buying something off marketplace, which was miles away in the opposite direction, so we stopped off in town on our way back.

Dinner is homemade corned beef and onion pie 🥧 with mash, veg and gravy.

                  Morning everyone

                  Nanto
We had home made corned beef pie yesterday,
I love it but pastry gives me such heartburn , a tablet sorted that out though.
pity you didn’t get to farm shop but there is always another day 😁

                  Gem
Glad you slept well and had a good day at DDs
We managed to get out in the garden and tidy yesterday it was quite mild.

                  Plant
                  How are you today?

Going to pick up a parcel from Matalan this morning ,
We went in on Thursday and I bought a lovely pair of black summer sandals in the sale.
I said to B I wouldn’t mind them in white for next summer, but they didn’t have them in store.
So when we got home I went on line and they had them on there so ordered them.

I don’t usually buy footwear from shops unless Sketchers or pavers as I have wide feet (fat)
so to find a comfy pair in a shop is a bonus and reduced.

I will put them away for next summer , but I really must get rid of all the shoes & Sandals that I don’t wear .

Lovely sunny morning here, I hope to sit outside, I get bored with these four walls. Decided not to set alarm to wake up in the night for a painkiller so slept through.

Gemini, lovely end to your holiday with a meal with family.

Oma, Well done to find summer shoes that you like, best to buy them when you see them. There must be an improvement as I slept through the night, apart from toilet stops.

Nanto, are you enjoying your gates? Have a nice day whatever you plan to do.

                      Good Sunday morning everyone.

Plant, I'm glad you slept well.

Nan2 I wonder if any car boot bargains will come home?

Oma, I buy footwear online if I know my sizing with them, as with Sketchers.

                      It's pouring down here!
No plans today. I will do the rest of my unpacking, and we are catching up with some of the TV we recorded when we were away.

                        Gem, its raining here now.
No car boot bargains for hubby today. He did buy something he knows his pal wanted.

Oma, well done for getting the sandals, always good to get them when there is a sale.

Iv'e done the ironing, cleaned up and made 3 portions of cheesy mash.
Two are in the freezer, and one is for dinner today.
Drawers in both freezers have been tidied.

Hallo everyone, I went on the bike to Leiden, plenty of materials but not what I want so I will try Delft on Thursday, there aren't half as many stalls as a few years ago, maybe that is why it isn't in Delft this year. There is one in Zoetermeer in October, that is another organisation.

I have just trimmed a few plants back on the balcony, warm out there!

Plant, I do hope that your back soon heals.

Nanto, you are so organised with your freezer, I thought I had got pork strips out of the freezer the other week, they were stewed pears!!

Oma, I can only wear special shoes with the arthritis in my toes (feet).

Well after a lovely morning it's gone decidedly iffy! Was about to start cutting grass when rain started, so put mower away, got the washing in and now the rain's stopped! Walked along to the post office this morning to get a padded envelope and my walking speed has definitely slowed!

Think I may start getting my holiday stuff ready since I don't fancy going and cutting grass now. I already have a pile of stuff on spare bed for hospital and afterwards, so I'd best not get them mixed up

Met DD in town yesterday afternoon with my list of necessities for my op! Decided it would be easier to put clothes on over my head so got a couple of t-shirt type dresses, big knickers as the hip will be swollen, nice shower and body cream and a pair of slip on trainers! Credit card definitely got a hit! M&S had some lovely patterned big knickers so I got them in the net size up! Going to a disability aids shop tomorrow to get things like a long handled shoe horn and see what else they suggest I should get. I believe I get crutches from the hospital, but waiting to have that confirmed. I need to get it all done this week because I won't have a lot of time between holidays and op. I have to go back fro another blood test the day before my op and I also have an RSV (?) injection that afternoon.

Lizzie, my DD calls unidentified packets in the freezer, mystery mince, because that's usually what they are! It must have been a bit of a shock when your pork turned out to be pears!

Plant. I'm sorry to hear you're still in pain. Hopefully it'll get easier each day.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies x
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny, I often get a "surprise " meal out of the freezer!

I hope that you have a good holiday and that the operation goes well.xx

WG, good timing to have a holiday before your op I don't know if you have a walk-in shower at home? if not I recommend Freshwipes for the first days when climbing in and out of the bath to shower isn't easy! They are vastly different to baby wipes. https://gransrus.com/forum/topics-an...945-freshwipes

Lizzie we once thought we had defrosted chicken and it turned out to be apple! Not much good for the meal we were planning to cook

A very wet day so no garden tidying got done. I think OH is free tomorrow so if it's fine she will get on with it then. Glorious sunshine now, 6 pm!!
