Nan2, we found 4 old hoovers in my mum's loft when clearing out her house, so they were obviously keeping non working things too!

Oma, that must have been lovely to make the sugar flowers for your DD's wedding cake.

It seems no time since little H was born Plant.

I have written about little GS3's eyes on the Grandparent section.

Very good aqua session we all said we had had a really good workout today. I had coffee with my 3 friends, went Asda for my petrol then this afternoon we got the Christmas things into the loft. OH had taken the outside lights down when I was out this morning, so a productive day all round.

It's still very cold. Frost remaining on the roofs and snowmen still standing in gardens. The golf course is covered in frost and ice and seems unlikely to reopen until midweek next week at the earliest.

      Good morning.

Gem, glad you all had a good workout yesterday.

Oma, that was lovely to have made the sugar flowers for DD's wedding cake.
When DS1 and his X wife got married, I made the cake, but a friend decorated it.

Not much to do today, I need to iron yesterday's washing and a few other little jobs.

It's very cold again, the snow isn't going to go yet.

Dinner is mince and onion pie, root mash, veg and gravy.

I would like to make some homemade ready meals for the freezer, but there isn't much room.
I might see if I can make a bit of space.

        Good morning ladies .

        That's a cheery graphic for a cold morning Nan2.

GS3 day today. No golf for OH, but she is going for a walk with one of her golf friends this morning. Little E and I are going to the library.
        So cold out again.

          Morning ladies,
I'm off to MILs shortly to take her meals , 5 this week plus Gammon that B cooked yesterday she can have that with chips , 2 desserts so she's well stocked ,
B will put her bin out and make her bed I will do anything else she wants doing.

His sister took her a roast dinner on Tuesday so she's not starving, although as his other sister was helping her out of the Taxi with her shopping the other day she told the Taxi driver she has no option but go out as she gets no help 🫣
I'm just waiting for her to say that to me and she will get a mouth full.

Hopefully she will be in a good mood today .
          Be back later.

Forgot to say, when we tidied the cupboard out yesterday,we found an electric hob.
Neither of us could remember where it had come from.
The hob we have now is the one we have always had.

Gem, enjoy the library with little E.
Hope your gets wrapped up warm.

              Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, if we hadn't just cleared out our cupboard under the stairs I would be wondering how could you possibly have a hob you didn't know about! But I totally get it now. .

Oma, your MIL's view of reality is unique! I hope she behaves today - I can see the sparks flying otherwise. Do you think she was looking for attention/sympathy from the taxi driver?

Gem, I hope you and GS3 can get out for a while if it's not too cold. At least it should be warm in the library. Have a lovely time.

I'm meeting up with College friends for lunch this morning. I don't know how many will be there, but it's nice being back at the golf club after the alterations. A friend is giving me a lift so I don't even have to drive. OH has just gone to collect his new sunglasses from Specsavers. Really useful for January! But actually the sun is shining this morning and I think winter sunshine is more glaring than in the summer.

The temp is -1C here, but there's no ice or frost. I'm not complaining.

              Have a good day everyone.

MIL wasn't to bad a bit cantankerous but on the whole ok.

                Nanto
It's a puzzle but at some point you will remember why it's there 😁

                Daisy
                Enjoy your lunch,
I wear my sunglasses in the winter , winter sun is very low and as you say more glaring.

                Gem
Hope E enjoys his trip to the library,
S Must be fed up not being able to golf at the moment.

It's bright but a heavy frost is lingering,
We went to Aldi on the way home it's on top of a hill , the freezing wind was stinging my face, bitter bitter cold, a day when you want to stay in.

I had a laugh Oma, when I read the account of what Mil said to the Taxi driver but she shouldn’t say things like that to people other than the family, they might take advantage of her.

Nanto, an electric hob in the cupboard? Strange, perhaps it was one of your OH’s bargain buys.

Daisy, have a lovely meet up with your friends, hope the lunch is good.

Once again we have had snow in the night, although not forecast. Colder today, the sunshine hasn’t cleared the snow. I want to take somethings to the garage and the bins but I dare not risk it.

Daisy, hope you had a lovely meet up/lunch.

Oma, MIL comes out with some gems doesn't she.

Hubby has been pondering about the hob all day. Something clicked.
He seemed to remember about DS1 bringing it.
So, he rang DS1 to ask him. Apparently he brought it here when his marriage broke up.
That was 16 years ago. He can't remember why he brought it.

I tidied the drawers in the kitchen freezer, but they are still full.
Before dinner i managed to make a bit of room in the big freezer.
After dinner hubby's sis and hubby came, so 4 more drawres to do tomorrow.

Oma, your MIL keeps you on your toes. You just never know how she will be - but I'm glad she was ok today. I hadn't thought about Plant's point about saying the wrong things to people who might take advantage of her. No doubt Storm is loving the cold weather, even if we humans aren't. I can imagine how parky it was on top of that hill!

Plant, it's very sensible to keep of the ice and snow. It's all too easy to fall or slip.

Nanto, thank goodness you've cleared up the mystery of the Hob in the Cupboard! Hopefully you will make some space in your freezer tomorrow.

Gem, how did your day with GS3 go? I imagine it's quite tiring, but lovely to be spending this time with him. Did S enjoy her walk, if it wasn't too cold?

There were 5 of us for lunch today - and 4 of us turned up wearing pink jumpers, with the 5th wearing a crocheted cardigan with shades of pink, blue and mauve! It was a beautiful sunny day, with a clear blue sky and the sun sparkling on the Solent. Inside it could have been midsummer with the sun streaming into the club house. When I finally took Eva out about 4 o'clockish it was a different matter - the sun had gone and it was freeeeezing! I only had a sandwich because I'd have to cook anyway tonight, but it was very nice with almost too much filling in it.

                        Bitterly cold again.

Daisy, great minds think alike, all of you wearing something pink.

Hoping to get the rest of the freezer drawers tidied later.

No cooking today, we are having fish and chips.

Wrap up warm ladies if you are venturing out.

                          Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's a day for staying in, keeping warm and (preferably) relaxing! Fish and chips sound ideal to me.

I've got a list of jobs on the go, so I'll pick and choose those I feel most like doing today!

I hope everyone is keeping warm and safe.

                            Good morning everyone.

You just have to take a deep breath and ignore MIL's silly comments, Oma. It's all you can do isn't it?! I'm sure she knows deep down how much you do for her.

Daisy, you should be the pink ladies from now on!

Nice fish and chip weather Nan2. We are having them next Friday with DD3 or we would have them tonight.

Plant, don't risk anything on the ice, it's so easy to slip and break something.

We had a nice library morning and had our lunch in the cafe. Little E and I shared a baked potato with cheese and scone with jam and 'dutter' as he calls it
OH and I noticed he was happy and cheerful all day, obviously fully recovered from the nasty eye drops at the hospital the day before.
OH and friend enjoyed their cold but sunny walk.

GS1 is due to spend the day here, but hasn't arrived yet. GS2 from school this afternoon.
If GS1 is here I will order a pizza delivery for them both.

Will this ice and frost ever lift?
It will on Monday here according to OH.

Those eye drops are horrible and they sting , I hate getting them in,
B had them on Wednesday his pupils were open wide for hours giving him a headache as the light seems so strong when they are like that,
So if a grownup is in discomfort what was poor E feeling bless him.

                              Had a busy morning,
I was going to my Sister's but they all have this bug so change of plans.

We firstly went to the Farm shop to stock up on meat , then into the farm shop bakery for sour dough bread ,
B got a Custard slice and I got a blueberry and lemon scone for later.

We then went to Dunelm for a new fitted sheet , it has to be extra deep as my mattress has a mattress topper and protector so makes normal sheets not deep enough,
I ended up buying two of those, new pillow cases , A new pillow for B and paying £42 for a Memory foam pillow for me, I like a hard pillow it helps keep my neck aligned,
                              B said it's like laying on a brick 😂

We then went to the card shop as we needed a card for Martin's birthday,
Spent ages laughing at the funny cards ,
B picked a suitable insulting card 😂, while I was there I thought I may as well get other Birthday cards like Granddaughter and Grandsons and My DDs card & SILs,
All in the summer but they are in now.

It's sunny but very cold , we have had a mixture of sleet and snow, everywhere is slippy and frosty.
I think we are in for the day now ,
I want to wash my kitchen cupboard doors down after lunch , then B is going to take the extractor hood off so it can be cleaned properly and changed the filter.

Expecting a delivery from Waitrose soon. I hope he will be fine underfoot, we still have the white stuff, just a covering which has now been frosted. GD says the roads are fine. All arrangements happening for H’s birthday party tomorrow. GD is not doing my housework any more so I have a new person coming next Tues.

Oma, I use Dunelm for bedding, we have one quite close, but they do sell some rubbish. There is a nice cafe in our local one.

Nanto, fish and chips for me too this evening.

Daisy, trying to keep well and safe, we still have some white stuff and the short walk to my garage door is frozen snow and hasn’t melted for days, I am going to sprinkle some salt on it. Forget the jobs and sit by the fire with a good book.

Gemini, lovely baked potato lunch with GS. I would have chosen the same plus the scone and dutter.
