A very quick Good Monday before Christmas Day morning to everyone.

OH has to go and collect his new glasses this morning, then we'll take some clementines round to DS2's and see the girls, then go to their shop to collect the turkey which is in the shop fridge at the moment. I'll catch up when we get back.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Today we are going over to DD2's. She and SIL are going into town to celebrate their wedding anniversary. We are looking after the children at their house, so GD can carry out her various social engagements We will be mainly spending time with GS2 and taxi-ing GD

I hope everyone is well today and you have finished your Christmas shopping!

Gem, it would have been my wedding anniversary today, if I hadn't got divorced!

Oma, you sound a lot chirpier, I hope B is feeling stronger. I don’t have anything to do with Christmas dinner now but I do an overnight salad for Christmas supper and blinis for Christmas morning. Well done for getting the turkey early and avoiding the rush.

Gemini, That must have been a bit of a stressful time when your DD got married. I hope they enjoy their evening out.

Daisy, sad time for you so near Christmas but I presume expected. I saw the advert for’ I presume, the same clementines, I was tempted to order some.

when my Oldest sister and Brother got married my Brother married on the 10th of December and my sister the week after on the 17th,
So our parents had two weddings within a week right on Christmas.

Why it happened like that I have no idea but I can remember the rushing around and everything being sort of upside down for weeks 😁

Oh and their first borns were born within a week of each other also 😁

Plant my DD1 got married on October 18 and DD2 on December 20 -the same year!! It was a whirlwind.
DD2 was very keen on a Christmassy wedding.

We have just helped GS make some biscuits for Santa and watched him play on his PlayStation. I have met GD's new boyfriend who is a lovely boy nothing like the nasty one.

The Dr rang me to say my test results show the infection I have is resistant to the antibiotics I have had 2 courses of. It is a lot better so fingers crossed is just getting better by itself. I am allergic to the alternatives , so let's hope.

Today didn't work out quite as planned! We took Eva with us as we didn't know how long we'd be. We left her in the car for Specsavers, but then went on to DS2's shop to collect the turkey, which they had kindly collected (and paid for!) from their local farm shop yesterday. The shop's car park was full so we went into a busy public car park. I went to get Eva out of the back of the car, and as I tried and failed to grab the handle to pull the tailgate down Eva set off in the direction she fancied, and I pulled a muscle quite badly. At least I hope that's what it is and not a broken rib! We went on to DS2's house as planned and then to take a plant round to a dear friend who has just lost her partner of 22 years. By the time we'd driven home over all the potholes, rough sections of road and round sharp corners I was in a lot of pain. Paracetamol have taken the edge off it, but it's still hurts. Boo hoo!! Even typing hurts.

DIL1's cat has got a nasty, infected puncture wound injury on her tummy, so DIL has had yet another trip to the vets and has to keep kitty indoors for now.

Just reading about those Christmas weddings makes me feel exhausted - it must have been very hectic.

Gem, how lovely to hear that your GD has such a happy relationship now. Oh dear, I do hope your cystitis does get better quickly.

Plant, there were several Crowdfarming places offering clementines, and I just picked one at random.

Oma, people were very keen to pick their turkeys etc up this morning. It's been bitterly cold today, hasn't it! I hope you've had a nice relaxing day.

Lizzie, significant dates tend to stick in our memories long after don't they.

I'd better go and get us some dinner - we had lunch very late so not very hungry. I might make soup.

Oh Daisy what a thing to happen! Even if you.had broken a rib I think the advice would be the same. Rest , painkillers, maybe ice if it helps.
                    Sending gentle Hugs!
                    Poor kitty too

Oh dear Daisy, i hope it is just a pulled muscle and nothing more serious.
Hope both you and the kitty feel better soon.

Gem, hope the infection is clearing up.

Had a busy day but productive day.
Got the bedrooms and bathroom cleaned. Bedding changed and washed.
Landing, stairs and hall all done. Back porch done as well, oh and some ironing.
Put clean mats down in the porch and washed the dirty ones.

Visitors called to bring us a card and stayed for a cuppa and cake.

Oh my goodness Daisy, cracked rib or pulled muscle they are both incredibly painful,
You will feel it in the morning no doubt, plus getting a comfortable position in bed. Sending very gentle hugs.

Has the kitty been fighting with another cat? Cat puncture wounds can be nasty they harbour lots of germs,
buzz had to have a area on his back leg shaved and the wound cleaned when it happened to him then a. Course of antibiotics, not cheap.

I hope the cystitis clears on its own but don't suffer go back to the Drs if it doesn't,
I remember some years ago I had cystitis for 10 weeks , they tried everything till they did a culture from me and got the right meds , I would hate that again, I really sympathise with you.

Finn was so funny today , he opened his Christmas present and had a great time playing with it ,
He is at that funny age ,, he was telling us Daddy is a grumpy guts on a morning and he's asked Santa for a red car,
They have everything thing but a red car so Clare was going to Smyths toy shop to try get one for him.
He had told Santa his other Nana and us all about this Red car he wants,
Martin said he hadn't mentioned it till the past few days 🤣🤣

My niece the one who needs the new hip and knee has today received a phone call to say her hip operation will be on March 22nd. really quick she was expecting to wait a long time.

Good morning on this Christmas Eve.

Daisy, hope you aren't in too much pain.

Oma, it's good your niece has got her date for her operation.

I'm doing a bit of baking this morning. Going to make some mince pies and coconut tarts.
We have plenty of bought mince pies in the freezer, hubby likes them, I prefer shallow homemade ones.

Hubby out with his pal later for a couple of hours.

Just a pizza for dinner today.
                          .

                            Good morning everyone.

Nan2, great minds! I have just posted that same graphic on the Advent calendar before coming here

How are you this morning Daisy? Try to take it easy!

I hope Finn gets his red car Oma! Good news about your nieces op date.

This morning OH's godson and his mum, and maybe her OH will be dropping off OH's present and giving them his and their cards.
This afternoon DD2 is hosting a family afternoon, so we will be back at their house again
The Christmas cakes is still coated in only marzipan so I will ice that this morning.
The kittens have finally adopted the Christmas tree as a playing area. We have removed Moses from the middle of it several times I find it quite amusing. OH does not.

Good morning, Daisy, poor you, I expect the pain could be worse this morning! The date's (and other things) are my memory! I am not very good with names, but, I do have the memory, well, up to now anyway.

I have beef in one slow cooker and pears in the other, both for the freezer.

Eating at DS1's this evening, I need to go to the library to take a "flyer" book back, can have it 6 days I think.

                                Good Christmas Eve morning, everyone.

Nanto (and Gem!) perfect graphic for today. I've made pastry ready to roll out into mince pies today. We both prefer home-made ones.

Gem, I've still got to put marzipan on the Christmas cake - I was going to do it yesterday, but gave up! I'd love to see Moses diving into the tree. Have a nice morning with OH's Godson and family, and a lovely afternoon at DD2's.

Lizzie, it's funny what we remember and what we tend to forget. Do you find sometimes you can't remember something then it pops into your mind some time later? Have a lovely evening at DS1's.

Oma, we don't know what the cat had been up to. There is a bully cat in the area but she tends to avoid him. It's quite a large wound and I wonder if she's jumped down from a tree into a pile of leaves and landed on a sharp twig or something. Either way, she's got to be kept in for a few days, and she won't like that.

I slept much better than I expected after liberal applications of Volterol and a couple of paracetamols, but it's not so good this morning. It's very frustrating because I have a lot to do, but then I think about poor Sum1 and what she must have gone through since her accident and this is nothing. OH has the dentists this morning then I hope he will be able to do some of the jobs for me. I've got a few bits to iron while he's out, and I'll get the marzipan done as well. I'd better crack on. Ouch "crack" wasn't a good word to choose.

I hope everyone is well, or getting there. xxx
