    Morning everyone

    Lizzie
A squeak can really annoy you no matter where it’s coming from,
    Glad you sorted it.
Will the new school fully open next year or will it just be the nursery part?

    Nanto
Hope you have a good meal out , are you going to the regular place you go to or somewhere else?
11” of snow is very precise isn’t it 😁
the cloud base has been low for days and I read it’s hear for a few days also.

    Daisy
Cars can be so expensive but what can you do when you need them,
Did you have a glass of wine with your salad? 😁

    Gem
I hated driving in the dark, I had night blindness, it scared me.
let us know what the new Paddington film is like , I would like to go but not at the moment.

We have talked about seeing someone for my back either a massage or chiropractor if it carries on .

    Plant
it’s mostly my right hip and lower back , my back is worse when I walk.

To see the physio for my hip and knee I have to try get appointment with the Dr for him to then refer me to them .
As it took 11 month to see them about my ankle & knee Im not holding out any hope .

Its damp but nor raining so that’s a bonus,
We are meeting Dorothy& James for coffee this morning,
First time Dorothy been anywhere apart from a hour sitting in the car at the beach last week.
We normally meet on Sunday mornings but the nurses are going tomorrow to redress her legs.

I think DD SIL and Storm are joining us.

GS came home from Uni yesterday came straight to us for lunch before he went to pick Lucie up, by then DD & SIL will have finished work .

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's not too bad a day here - cloudy but a bit warmer than yesterday.

Nanto, 11 inches of snow! Heaven help us - everything grinds to a halt down here if we have one inch, and that's rare. Enjoy your outing and lunch - lovely, no cooking.

Lizzie, your 18 year old bike is doing you proud. I can't help wondering if today's brand new bikes will give such good service. Well done on fixing the squeaky seat - it must have been very irritating. My OH went a bit pale when they told him how much the car repair was likely to be! Lizzie, I think you must be very well-organised to cram as much into each day as you do. xx

Gem, what a pity there's no other way from your DD's to York. I'm shocked at how many pedestrians out and about when it's dark, wear dark clothing making them much harder to see. You'd think they would want to protect themselves better. Even a hi-viz armband would help. Enjoy the new Paddington film - I look forward to hearing all about it.

Oma, I bet D and J are really looking forward to going out with you today. How are D's legs? I hope it's not too painful for you travelling and sitting.

I've had to pull out of a group dog walk at lunch time because of getting the car back, so I'll get out and do some gardening instead. Goodness knows there's plenty to do!

Oma, the schools are open, the second one opened this last week, the children were in the classes as we walked round, a neighbours GD recognised me, gave me a crafty wave from under her desk!! There is a shortage of nursery staff here, that will be part of the delay, that and getting the furniture etc. I loved the small toilet seats, shaped like a petal so that their small hands could hold on

Daisy the new bike I treated myself to last year is exactly the same make as the old one, they are very reliable. I use that one for the pool, Delft etc. I am not sure about my E bike as the firm have gone bankrupt!!!

Nanto, I hope you don’t have 11” of snow or even 10. Our village is on a hill and everything comes to a stand still when it snow. Enjoy your trip into town

Gemini, Enjoy the film, I expect the GC will want to see that too.

Oma, Food comes before Lucie I see. I hope D is feeling more comfortable now.

Daisy, cars are so necessary where you live I imagine. Car Repairs are so expensive.

I have been watching the Lord Mayors Show, quite a spectacle. I shall watch in the morning at the Cenotaph and evening tomorrow, feel very sad when the poppies fall on the soldiers heads.

Had a lovely catch up as with everyone being poorly and Victoria &Mathews house it’s been about 4 weeks since we met up ,
We have been to D & Js on a visit but not out for coffee all together.

Luckily the garden centre we go to isn’t far and we can park at the door.
Poor Dorothy’s legs are in a state Shes so uncomfortable but determined to get out while she can.

we were talking about Remembrance Sunday and I said to GS this is the first year I haven’t bought a poppy not being able to get out.

The door opened about 20 minutes ago and in he walks with a poppy for me , he had gone to the shops before going to Lucie’s to get me one .
Bless him I’m not going out to wear it but he still got me one . I love that boy ❤️

We will watch on TV in the morning as I won’t get to the cenotaph. DD and SIL will be there Storm has a full collar of poppies he wears 😁

Lizzie, I imagine newly built schools of today have all sorts of modern things that we wouldn't have seen in our day, but petal shaped loo seats made me smile. A simple idea, but a great one to help small children with their independence. Very thoughtful. I bet the little girl who waved to you couldn't wait to tell her granny she saw you.

It was amazing that you could get exactly the same bike, so definitely no giving up on using it for at least another 18 years.

Oma, D is brave and determined. I hope the outing did her good - and seeing you and B, of course. Did you have a good laugh together? Your GS1 is such a thoughtful and caring lad. Not many would think about going out to get you a poppy like that. I'm sure you and B feel sad you won't be able to go to the Cenotaph tomorrow, but Storm will do you proud with his collar of poppies.

Plant, it's so moving when everyone marches past the Cenotaph wearing their uniforms, medals and hats. One day perhaps the human race will see the futility of war and live in peace.

Every year I have a battle with my poppy. I can never pin it on anything firmly enough and nearly always end up losing it. It's taken many years, but this year I had an inspiration. I threaded the stem on to a safety pin - through the little circle at the end that doesn't open, then pinned it on to my jacket. Why I couldn't have worked that out years ago, I don't know.

              Gem, did you enjoy Paddington?

Gem, when we were on our way back for the car, there was a queue outside the cinema.
The new Paddington film was showing.

Oma, hope you all enjoyed your meet up.

We had a small full english meal at one of our favourite cafes.

Just after we got home, hubby went to help nephew with something.

                  that’s a good idea,
I usually put a extra pin through the leaf and it serves to keep the leaf at the 11 o’clock position 😁

Nanto, I don't know what your family and friends would do without your OH's help - he's always busy. It's nice to have a full English when someone else has cooked it - I always find it hard to get the timing right when I make it.

I hope Gem didn't have to cope with queues where they went to see Paddington.

Oma, I think my poppy leaf may have slipped a bit on my coat, but I got OH's fixed more firmly on a suit jacket when he went out last night.

Daisy, we had prebooked for Paddington in Peru, so no queing needed I enjoyed it very much, it was a bit like Paddington meets Indiana Jones!

I often walk about at this time of year with just a pin on my jacket having lost my poppy. This year I bought both OH and myself those little enamel poppies, so I have managed to hang onto that!

We had a lovely meal after the film, a nice use of our free day. We had a totally plan free weekend so decided to do something nice

Good morning, the sun in the graphic is probably the only sun we will see.

I have poppy brooches, but i always put something in the collection boxes, but don't take a poppy.

Hubby back to nephews later, so dinner is just chips, fish fingers and beans. Something i can put in the air fryer, when he rings me to say he is on his way home.

Those are the only plans for today.

                        Have a good day ladies.

                          Good morning everyone.

Nan2 that's what my mum used to do. She had a fabric poppy she loved to wear every year and put money in a collecting box, or I did on her behalf as she got older.

                          No plans here either!
                          Have a good Sunday ladies.

                            Good Remembrance Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I agree about the sun - or lack of it. At least it's not raining.

Gem, what a lovely day you had and I'm glad you enjoyed Paddington. Are you going to relax today as well, or perhaps take a trip to the coast?

I thought I was the only one who couldn't anchor my poppy to my coat properly, but it's nice to know I'm not alone!

                              Morning ladies
Dull but dry at this end I hope it stays like that for the March past etc.

I’m really looking forward to seeing Paddington now even if I have to wait to watch when it comes on telly 😁
Where did you go for your meal after ?

                              Daisy
The problem with poppies they were designed to go in buttonholes,
Not many people have coats with them theses days ,
I do think the design needs changing and to come with a safety pin anchor these days.

                              Nanto
We have several enamel poppies but I do like a paper one for the day.
When Bs mam was in the rehab they were raffling off a lovely Poppy hand made blanket ,
The work that went into it must have taken hours.
We bought £5 worth of tickets and put an extra £5 in the pot all for a good cause .
                              Obviously we didn’t win😁

Birdseye cod fish fingers are expensive these days but I can’t eat others ,
It used to be a cheap meal at one time not now.

i didn’t sleep well and spent some of the night downstairs till the pain killers kicked in,
Didnt feel to bad this morning so after my shower decided to do the small pile of ironing that was there.
Got most done just two pairs of jeans to iron and I couldn’t stand any longer.
B finished them off , luckily he can iron trousers like his army day,
To be honest he does a better job than me he just takes so long 😁

The house smells amazing he’s been making rosemary focaccia bread, 😁

Oma, Ironing is very difficult for me these days, my GD2 put up my board for me last week and I managed 3 items. So sorry you are still having pain spoiling your sleep.

I have poppy broaches but always make a contribution. We gave H some money to put in the collection tin and the man clipped a poppy onto her zip. GD1’s partner bought some fireworks to entertain the younger GGC, hate the things! GS1 and his family came round, we had chilli and pumpkin pie made by GD2 and her partner. Our new baby was a delight, lovely smile, he is sitting up now. I watched the Remembrance service last evening, always feel sad when the poppies fall. I also watched the morning service at the Cenotaph. I also watched the Lord Mayors Show. I hate these dark evenings, the days are so short.
