I picked up my friend and listened to a very interesting talk at NT group. GD phoned me to ask when I would be back as her car was misbehaving and she needed to take H to a party. DD and Sil were out to lunch with friends and their car was being used. All go here as usual.

Oma nice time spent with GS I am sure, he will be well fed. Will you do Leeds in a day or have to stay over?

Plant, I do hope everything goes through ok for your GD2 and her partner. Things will be a lot easier for GD1 and family when H starts the new nursery. Also she might make some little friends who live locally and can have play dates with them.

Did you enjoy the NT talk? Sometimes when we don't feel like making the effort to go out, but go anyway it turns out to be a really enjoyable outing. What was the talk about?

Oma, Eva is 11 now and she has slowed down a little bit. But when she decides she wants to play with her toys she's like a puppy! She's getting very grey around her muzzle though. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since GS1 was so excited about having Storm as a puppy. GS is very lucky to have a handy DIY grandad like B.

We had a lovely, and very long lunch with our friends today. We got home about 5.30 - the time just seemed to fly. We were only round the corner from home so OH had come back to let Eva out and make sure she was ok, and I'd taken her for a walk this morning.

I think we'll be having a relaxing evening in front of the television tonight - we're certainly not hungry after a huge lunch.

Nanto, isn't it always the way. You either get a cold just as you're leaving for a holiday, or get one when you come home. I hope you and your hubby are soon better. xx

I nearly got a relaxing evening in front of the telly - but had forgotten to finish the grocery order for tomorrow morning. It's done now, though, and we can do without anything I might have forgotten.

            Good evening each.
I have been catching up with your news after being away for a couple of weeks. Gem, how lucky you are to have kittens! I’d sell my soul for another cat, but not sure how Bess would react, maybe best left for now. Daisy, Bess will be 11 soon and we have to hide toys and balls from her otherwise she will not leave us alone!
We went to South Africa and had an extremely busy time, came back through the night on Sunday and it has taken all week to get back to normal. I think we are past all the long haul stuff now. I would be happy with a UK holiday next.
It’s time to get the knitting out. I’m not sure what to knit next though. Probably a jumper, something with big needles and thick wool that grows quickly. 😆

              Good morning ladies.

              Welcome home WG.

We are going into town this morning. Meeting DS2 for an hour.

Daisy, we've had worse colds, not stopping us from getting on with things.

              Have a good day everyone.
Don't forget we alter the clocks today.
We alter them before we go to bed, some friends of ours don't change them till Sunday morning.

                Good Saturday morning everyone.

                Lovely graphic Nan2

Colds aren't serious but they are miserable. Get well soon Nan2 and OH. We change our clock before we to to bed too.

Plant, you are getting out and about a bit more. I hope that means your pain is improving? Little children are very resilient and adapt well. I'm sure H will soon feel at home in her new nursery.

Daisy, I love good lunches out, with good company and the bonus of not having to cook an evening meal!

I hope your plan with the mop bucket works Oma! My mum was like that, often offering us money we did not want, then refusing to pay more than 99p for a ready meal, etc etc!

                Grauntie, good to see you.
I know what you mean about holidays. I love going abroad, but sometimes the thought of just UK holidays without all the airports etc is very attractive. On the other hand I think we should travel while we still can! We have Canada booked next June, after that we shall see.

The kittens discovered the stairs yesterday and spent a lot of time and energy chasing each other up and down them
Our catsitter friend enjoyed meeting them. We went to tea at our friends J and M's house last night, which was very nice.

Flu jab this morning. OH has cancelled hers as she hasn't been too well since eating mussels on Thursday night. It seems silly to have vaccine if you are already feeling under the weather.
Friends C and P are coming round this evening for a catch up. They still do a weekly You Tube quiz via the telly which they started to do during Lockdown. Occasionally we get together and do it with them at one of our homes.

                  Morning ladies,
Im feeling very miserable this morning,
My back went AGAIN last night , I couldn’t ease the pain to sleep , I went to bed at 11 but had to get up at 12 the pain was so bad,
I tried a pillow and lying on my back on the sitting room floor that wasn’t working so I tried the trick of lying on the floor but with your legs bent over the sofa seat ,
No luck, tried the sofa then went up to the spare room and raised the head of the electric bed so I was sitting wasn’t much better but I sort of turned sideways sitting up with a pillow between my knees and I dozed off for about 2 hours .

Getting washed was a chore this morning but getting my legs into my trousers without bending was a circus act 🙄😁
I wish I had left my PJs on .

Im sitting with a hot water bottle on but can’t lean back to far, Im a right old woman today , I could do with his mothers zimmer frame😁

                  Nanto
I Hope the colds are mild and don’t develop into full blown ones,
                  Enjoy your day out.

                  Daisy
Sounds like you had a good few hours lunch with nice friends plus it’s nice not to have to cook isnt it.

                  GM
                  How exciting South Africa sounds,
Im not a good traveler so long haul flights are not for me ,
I hate the airport experience, it’s stressful for me getting the bags checked in and with B in his wheelchair it’s just too much,
Thats why I prefer a cruise but we haven’t even had one of those since the lockdown.

                  Gem
I hope S is feeling better soon , dodgy things shell fish.
Those kittens must be making you constantly laugh🤣
Will you be cooking for C&P or is it just wine and nibbles?

                  Plant
What would GD do without you , is she still cleaning for you?
It must be full in your DDs house at the minute.

Oh dear Oma, you sound in so much pain. I wish you were near enough to go to my sports massage therapist , she was my saviour for that terrible sciatica and back pain I had last year. Mind you she is booked up about 2 months head apart from cancellations. I hope it eases as the day goes on xx

C and P will come over after tea, around 7.30, the quiz starts at 8.15. Just wine, coffee, nibbles etc.

                    The sun is shining!

Oma, it is certainly fun next door, DD and Sil were out to lunch with friends yesterday so they missed the fun with cars. I am having a quiet day, I hope, You poor thing in so much pain, have you had an X-ray of your back? Do you know what is causing it to be so painful? Do take care, the back is the powerhouse of the body. Yes, my GD is still cleaning for me

Nanto, so sorry to hear you both have colds, I expect you picked them up on the plane.

Gemini, You and S are great travellers. Canada sounds exciting.

Grauntie, Sounds like a lovely holiday, shame it tired you out but when you recovered I am sure you felt it was worth the tiredness.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's cloudy and very dull here, even though the weather man says it's not! Hopefully it will brighten up later.

Oma, how I feel for you - back pain is so awful anyway, but when you can't get comfortable and can't sleep it's even more miserable. Did you overdo things yesterday?

Grauntie, what a wonderful holiday. If you've got a few minutes I'd love to hear more about it. Where did you visit, what were the best/worst bits.

We haven't done long haul for several years. We went to Seattle to see family. It usually takes me a couple of days to get over jet lag, but I regularly faint on night flights which causes quite a kerfuffle.

Gem, I hope your flu jab is ok. I've felt very tired after mine, and so has OH, but his arm has also been painful - more than you'd expect. C and P are good, still doing the quizzes. Is C ok now? Enjoy your evening. Your kittens are obviously feeling very much at home. I'd have loved to see them chasing each other up and down the stairs. I bet they slept well after that! Or were they playing in the night as well?

Nanto, wht a lovely kitty, relaxing over her morning coffee. I'm pleased to hear your colds aren't stopping normal life. Will you be able to have lunch out with DS2? Thanks for the reminder about the clocks - we have forgotten sometimes. Sometimes OH does 'his' clocks at night, but I leave mine until the following morning. This sounds odd, I know, but OH does mechanical clocks and I do the electronic ones. Some of mine adjust themselves so I wait to see which actually need changing and which have sorted themselves out. OH's pride and joy is a bracket clock with Westminster chimes and I wouldn't dare touch that - it's far more demanding than any prima donna!

I've put bedding in to wash, and if it brightens up a bit I'll go and do some gardening. We're going to start to wrap up some of the tender plants in case we get an early frost but the garden's too wet to walk on.

Plant, our posts crossed. I should think you're ready for a quiet day - you've had a busy time this week with one thing and another, but its lovely that you are going out again. Take care. xx

Hallo everyone, it is like summer here! The warmest October day, ever, yesterday, not far behind today either, it was almost 50 degrees on my balcony yesterday, the same today as well. I have just been on the bike for veg etc, skirt and blouse!

DS1 and family should have arrived in York by now, I will hear more when they settle in.

Oma, poor you, I hope the pain eases, my knees were really playing up this morning, that is when I curse the physio and her exercises! I have done a lot of cycling etc so they are easier now.

Nanto, I hope you are both soon feeling better.

Grauntie, good for you doing SA, I am afraid it would be too long a sit for me, a friend goes to visit his son in Australia in a few weeks, he isn't looking forward to the long flight.

                            Plant. Take it easy today.

Gem, I hope that S soon recovers from being ill after eating the mussels, I only have to look at them to be ill!!

Daisy, I hope your weather has improved, I have been for some winter plants and got them in the pot, they had a very good choice.

I managed a good hours sleep on the sofa but had a job getting up again,
My back had been playing up but it seems to be worse with one of the leg exercises I was given,
Its to stand on one leg for 30 seconds repeated 5 times, I can feel it in my hip badly so maybe that’s started it .

Plant just getting an appointment to see the Dr is a nightmare never mind an X-ray,
Im seeing the physio in a couple of weeks I will mention it to her see what she thinks.

Its quite a nice day here calm and bright,
B went out with the garden suckyupper thing and got all the leaves up on the drive and down the side of the house ,
Hadnt even put it away and it was covered again, the leaves are coming down like snow.
I think it’s a losing battle at the minute .
