    Hello again.

I have had problems getting back on here, but managed it just now, so hopefully all running well again.

Little E was delighted and amazed by the kittens, but soon lost interest so didn't mind at all when they were taken upstairs!
    All 3 are sleeping now.

I hope dogsitting goes well Daisy

Gem ,I couldn’t get on either
I bet there will be Salmon sharing tonight 😁
love the picture of E on FB 😁 looks like he had fun.

      Daisy
A elderly deaf dog might find Eva a little too bouncy 😁

My glasses seem much better fingers crossed.

MIL was not in a good mood , moaned she sees no body,
We go Thursday and Sunday , his Sister goes Monday and Wednesday,
His other sister who lives near by goes several times a week plus Martin goes on. Friday , so she sees one of us everyday.

She then complained her hip has been hurting so I said I would ring the Drs and see if they can send a nurse out and give her something stronger than paracetamol.
      No I will manage.
So While I was there I rang his sister who has power of attorney with her health and told her.
MIL wasn’t happy but his sister rang the Drs and they sending someone out today.

Its been hard work , she will say no one helps her but when you try she gets annoyed .

Oma, Cantancerous (sp), is the word to describe your Mil. Good job you all understand

Gemini, those kittens are so sweet. It is so good you are able to give them their own space.

I was able to get in and out of the road yesterday. Job is finished but we are not happy with the finished surface, looks like cheap chippings, too large. I honestly didn’t think it needed doing, there were no holes and puddles but we were in the minority. It has cost a lot of money. DS has just popped in with my birthday card and present, he loves to see H.

Dr and nurse been , they are going to arrange pain relief patches,
Dr told her she has to stop doing things,
like yesterday she hung her washing out ,Has to stretch up to get hold of the line .
She will only accept help making the bed, she has no option now she can’t say no,
B said no matter what we or the Dr said when we are not there she will do as she pleases.

          Plant
Has anyone else mentioned the finish? When you pay a lot of money you want it done well.

Plant, is it possible the road people are going to put a fine top dressing on the road? When do DS and Co go to Normandy?

Oma, your MIL definitely has a mind of her own! But she really does need to listen to good advice and not overdo things - otherwise she'll be back in hospital (that happened to someone I know - it's not an empty threat). You're right, Eva would be a bit OTT for our neighbour's elderly dog, although they happily do nose and bum sniffs and then sit quietly if we meet outside and stand chatting.

Gem, with Oma saying about salmon sharing tonight, it made me wonder what you feed kittens on? I know a lot less than your OH.

I've had one of those days where I didn't do what I'd planned. I did about 10 minutes gardening and then some housework. Still, the other jobs can wait.

Plant, as Daisy says perhaps there is another layer of road to go? Let's hope so.

Oma, MIL is trying to be too independent, let's hope she doesn't have another fall. She's lucky to have got home again, she may not be so lucky another time!

Daisy , I often have days where nothing goes as planned!
Kittens eat kitten food. Cat food specifically suited for kittens for the first months after weaning. Pouches of wet food plus kitten biscuits.
The lady at the rescue was mixing some raw food in with it. She had got them down to 2 meals a day with biscuits left down for throughout the day. She said they would probably be hungrier without the raw meat and they are! We are having to feed them 3 times!
I have saved them some salmon to have with their breakfast.

Gem, with dogs raw food stops them from feeling hungry too quickly because they can digest virtually all of it. We humans get the bonus of little tiny you-know-whats to pick up because it is so well digested. Interesting that the lady at the rescue centre was doing mixed feeding - and I bet your clever kittens will very quickly cotton on to how yummy salmon is.

I have just had a lovely half hour with our neighbours' elderly spaniel. I went over earlier in the evening and he was fast asleep. It hadn't occurred to me to ask how to wake him without startling him - hearing dogs would have woken immediately you put a key in the door! So I sat by him for a few minutes and gradually he woke up - the magic of dog noses, I suppose. I took him in the garden - success! - and back into the house and he went back on his bed. Just now though he was already awake, and after we'd been in the garden we wanted to play toys. He was very gentle but really wanted to play. I had never seen him in play mode before and it reminded me what Rusty and Clyde's groomer used to say - old dogs are so special. What a little sweetie he is.

                  Good morning ladies.

Gem, I bet the kittens enjoy their salmon breakfast.

Daisy, sounds like you enjoyed cuddles with neighbours dog.

Oma, MIL her usual charming self.

Hubby out for a couple of hours with his pal, no plans for me.

Dinner will be mash, mince and onion and veg.

                    Good morning everyone.

Is that a Santa Mickey I see Nan2?!

Daisy the cat rescue lady feeds her own dog and cats raw, so mixes some in for the cattery kittens too. She is so busy, with part time job at a vet's as well, plus the hand reared kittens which are kept somewhere else and need 4 hourly round the clock feeding. Anything which keeps the healthy ones going longer between meals is a bonus
That sweet dog must have enjoyed that time with you Daisy. Our cat who had the same name as you, went deaf towards the end of her life. We had to very gently stroke her if we ever needed to wake her. Sudden touches would make her jump, as would suddenly appearing from behind her when she was awake!

This morning I couldn't find the kittens play tunnel anywhere. A soft crinkly tunnel they can chase through and squash. I eventually located it under the TV unit - flat. They were obviously having fun during the night

Our cat sitter friend is calling in for coffee and a catch up this morning as she has been staying with a friend nearby. She didn't know about the kittens until she saw my FB post so is very excited They lost their elderly cat earlier this year and are hoping to get an older rescue soon.

We are invited to friends for a meal tonight. No GS2 today as it is the school Halloween disco.

Good Friday morning, everyone. It's cloudy here, and not a breathe of wind to stir the trees. So quiet and still.

Nanto, good morning to Mickey, too. Enjoy your morning. I always find I get more done when OH is out. We tend to stop and chat and have a coffee etc when he's at home. Dinner sounds just right for an autumn day.

Gem, there seems to be a growing demand for raw food for cats these days. I've noticed it often crops up as a question on raw feeding FB pages and also our dog food supplier's page. The cat rescue lady sounds very busy. I remember you saying my namesake cat went deaf, and you do have to rethink how you approach them, don't you. I didn't stroke the dog when he was asleep in case that startled him, even if you did it very gently. I'll ask his mum and dad what they do before I look after him again!

Your kittens sound lovely, and so full of fun. I can just picture them tearing round in the middle of the night and then sleeping soundly for a few hours. Your cat sitter friend will be delighted to meet P and M, I'm sure.

                      I hope GS2 enjoys his Hallowe'en disco.

I wok up early this morning, so made a loaf to take round to our friends' later. I thought she would like it better than a box of chocolates because she always seems to have a stock of those!

I'd better get a move on because I'll take Eva out for a walk before we go out late morning.

                        Morning everyone

                        Daisy
Elderly dogs don’t play with toys as much do they.
We have noticed Storm doesn’t these days ,
He does a spurt of energy now and then and play but not as often, unless it’s a new toy that has to be murdered instantly 🤣

                        Nanto
Enjoy your free time this morning😁

                        Gem
I bet the cat sitter will love P&J who could resist😁

DD used to feed Buzz raw food but now he’s on a special diet for cats with thyroid trouble and elderly,

Talulah likes her wet pouches but my god the waste product that comes out of such a tiny cat is unbelievable.
                        on wet food 🤣

Storm here he’s had his treats and now asleep amongst the leaves in the garden ,
Like he couldn’t lie on a clear patch🙄
so I will be picking wet leaves out of his fur when he comes in.

GS driving home from Uni this morning and coming straight to us for lunch.

Yesterday I went to the Range to buy a new mop bucket,
Not that I needed one but SIL was telling us MIL didn’t have one and was trying to ring the mop head out by hand ,
SIL had said get one but she didn’t want to pay the £5 for a one out of Morrisons.
So I bought a new one and will take my old one on Sunday and pretend that I thought she may like it rather than throw it out.

She can be so mean with money at times yet generous at other times.
She said well I won’t be washing the floors now so whoever does will just have to manage, Im not spending £5 on something I’m not using 😱

We we’re on the phone to Martin last night we had to laugh about it,
Martin said he’s going to write a book about her 🤣🤣🤣

Oma, I've just given our neighbours their key back, and they were really surprised that Finn was playing with his toys with me. Perhaps he thought I needed entertaining as his guest!

I think your DD probably spoils Storm and the cats as much as you do. And why not!

Your MIL is incredible, but I think lots of people have things that they economise on while splurging on other things. Martin should definitely write a book about her.

Oma, your Mil is so difficult, good job you are a close family. I don’t realise that Storm is getting older but he is still up to ripping up new toys.

Gemini, what fun those kittens are. We have given up on having cats, too near a busy road and they seem to prefer that way rather than the woods behind us. We really need another cat or dog to keep the squirrels away.

It is H last day at her nursery, after Half Term she is going to a local one near here. Too much change in her little life, she is such a sweetheart. My DD and Sil will be able to take her and fetch her so GD can look for a job to boost their income. GD2 and her partner have now got their contract to sign so hopefully it will not be too long before they can get settled in their new home.

N.Trust talk for me this afternoon, I am picking up a friend otherwise I might chicken out, everything is still an effort.

hope everything goes well with the contracts , it’s always a tense time you can’t guarantee anything till those keys are in your hand can you.
I hope H settles into her new nursery ok I’m sure she will .
Did you go to your N. Trust this afternoon?

GS came for lunch and stayed till 3 then he took Storm home with him,
We are hoping to go down to Leeds the week after next , B wants to do a few jobs for him and we will go out for lunch ,
Lucie has a reading week that week so she will be down too.
