Gem, so you're not going to spoils those gorgeous little kittens are you - much!!! I think having two together must be a positive thing. I remember Rusty and Clyde had no trouble settling down when we got them as puppies.

Well I fell asleep for almost a hour this afternoon , I was doing my puzzle book and could feel my eyes closing so I put the foot rest up and put a throw over myself and had a good snooze 😁

      Daisy
J is fine really good , I think D being poorly has taken his mind of things and he is just getting on with it.
D feels so much better at home , we are going to theirs on Monday to see them.

      Lizzie
I hope your GD had a good birthday,
These anniversary seem to come around quickly Dont they,

My mother always said she wouldn’t have another man after my Dad she couldn’t replace him,
Even though she was only 51 when he died aged 50.

      Gem
I bet those kittens will get spoilt with toys 😁 what time are you picking them up ?

      Plant
As Daisy said you will be able to stretch your birthday out with DS going away ,
Is GD and family still staying next door ?
How have you been feeling are you any better?

GS came about 4 before he went to pick Lucie up to go to the cinema, told us about this week at Uni ,
He is going to see D&J tomorrow before he goes back tomorrow tea time.

I think I might have an early night tonight , Im still quite tired .

Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, you must have needed that rest.

We wanted to pick the kittens up on Monday afternoon, but it works better for the rescue lady for us to do it before 1. We can be there for 12 if I don't stay for coffee after aquafit.

OH cooked roast pork tonight. It was delicious

Gem, for once I bet you won't mind missing your post-aqua coffee on Monday. In fact I bet you will get changed and out in double quick time. I'm excited for you! xx

Oma, thank goodness J is ok, and D is feeling better for being in her own home. I'm sure they will both be pleased to see GS1 tomorrow. No restricted visitor hours at home. . You seem to have been sleeping much better just lately. Have you changed your routine at all?

Lizzie, has your GD enjoyed her birthday. It's sad when poignant anniversaries clash with birthdays or other celebrations. You must feel quite torn.

I was just about to take Eva for a walk this tea time when a friend called. Luckily I hadn't said the actual "walkies" word so she waited patiently while the friend and I had a good long catch up. It was almost dark when we did eventually go out. It was quite late when we got back so I didn't have time to make the meal I'd planned. We had a frittata and salad instead.

As you see by the time of this post , I still have sleepless nights ,
But I am sleeping better than I was a lot of the time,

Havent changed my routine it’s just getting better.
I don’t sleep right through very often I wake a lot and toss and turn but I eventually go back to sleep,
Although like tonight there are the crappy nights 😁

Poor Eva she must have waited so patiently 😁

Good morning everyone, we had a very good meal last night for GD1, the same restaurant as 2 years ago, her boyfriend was there, all 6ft 5ins of him, he seems a lovely young man, it was one of the friends she went on holiday with and it turned out to be more than friends. She got some lovely presents including driving lessons from her parents, a ring from her sister, lovely chain from Timo etc, then tonight we are eating at their house.

I arrived at the restaurant early, as usual. plenty of parking, it got busier as there is a hotel and a casino in the same building, as we left it was unbelievable, cars were queuing for parking bays, there was a man directing traffic as well. I think the family were going on to glow in the dark midget golf, they asked if I was going with them , I said I would leave that to the young ones!!!

Poor you Oma with sleepless nights, I am always awake early but do sleep well, only last night it was so warm in bed, strange weather!

Gem, you will be excited picking the kittens up, I hope that all goes well.

The reason your mother had for not wanting another man is not the same as mine Oma.

I actually found the shoes I wanted for the gym, black with black soles!!! They are comfy as well.

I will get myself dressed, I will see what the forecast is, otherwise may have a bike ride.

                Morning Lizzie/ Ladies

                Lizzie ,
No not quite the same as your unwillingness to remarry , you have had enough of men 😁

Glad the meal went well and GDs boyfriend seems nice but very tall , you must have felt like a dwarf next to him,
Im the same with my oldest Nephew he towers over me and when he gets me in a bear hug I can’t escape 🤣🤣🤣

I went back to bed at 5.30 and had a good two hours sleep,
Still felt a bit groggy but by time I had a hot shower I felt more awake.

It’s dark and raining here , not doing much today .
B putting a new ceiling light in the utility Thats as exciting as it gets 🙄

Oma, GD1 is 6 ft so I have to reach up for a hug from her, DS1 is 6ft 5ins so I am used to it. I was 5ft 7ins before I shrunk

Good Sunday morning. It's raining - a lot!

Lizzie, what a lovely birthday GD1 has had. It really hits you how grown up they are when they bring their boyfriends to family celebrations, start learning to drive, and go on partying late into the night! It's funny, I tend to think of parking problems as a UK problem, but it seems you have the same issues. I really hate queuing for parking places.

Oma, I suppose improvements in most things are gradual, but I'm pleased your sleep patterns are getting better. I don't know how you cope with everything when you have sleepless nights. When the weather's like this you don't have much incentive to do jobs, at least I don't. (It doesn't take much to put me off housework!). Enjoy your lazy day.

                    Gem, just one more sleep!

I really need to do some washing today, but it's pouring with rain and OH has a friend here, probably for the day, doing car stuff - in the dining room! He's promised they are only measuring wood but I'm not very happy so I'll keep out of the way. . They're making running boards for a vintage car belonging to the friend.

as her friend said, she is fine taking selfies but hides from anyone else taking her photo.

Daisy, we have huge parking problems, that is one of the reasons I prefer my bike!!! Towns and cities are so expensive, I don't even think about going.

Lizzie, thank you for posting the photos - they're lovely, and such pretty girls, and a very handsome young man. The restaurant looks very nice - did you have a good meal?

I suppose our cities were laid out over possibly hundreds of years and no-one ever thought about traffic as it is today. The thing that always strikes me about old street scene photos is the absence of traffic and painted lines on the roads! We seem to have an awful lot of lines on our roads - far more than, say, America!

Daisy, don't mention streets and traffic, we have had roads and roundabouts closed these last few weeks in the village, bedlam!!!! When I came here 56 years ago there were 17,000 people in the village, now there are almost 60,000, the roads are still the same though!!! There are a few new area's, they all have to get onto the local roads to get to the new by-pass.

The restaurant was one where you can eat all you like, so many choices to make, very tasty though. I will eat less today!

Lizzie, your "village" has certainly grown - no wonder your roads are so congested. It must be more like a town than a village these days. Bigger isn't always better, is it.

                              Good morning everyone.

Lizzie, lovely tall GD you have, she would need a tall boyfriend!

Daisy and Oma it's pouring here too.

A very wet day and it's the Yorkshire Marathon through York today. I feel very sorry for the runners, and spectators!
OH and I are going to see Swan Lake today. When OH booked it we had no idea about the marathon (I only found out on Friday when my massage therapist, herself a runner, told me) Many roads are closed but it looks as if the ones affecting us will be open by midday. We need to be in town for 3.30 so fingers crossed!

Gem, has the Yorkshire Marathon gone ahead? It's also the Great South Run (Portsmouth) today and it's been cancelled because of safety concerns over Storm Ashley.

Enjoy Swan Lake. Is it on stage or streamed? Either way I'm sure it will be beautiful.
