Weather is lovely here but I’m not feeling great. I guess it takes a while to get over a hard fall so I’m not able to do much. I did stroll around the garden for about 10 minutes but that was it. I still feel very shaky and unsure on my feet. When I think how I used to rush around! Hopefully it will improve gradually, fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I think the wet weather is following us around! There was one day on holiday when the whole country was basking in sunshine - except for the area between the Pennines and the Welsh mountains, which is exactly where we were. But our lovely neighbour brought his super duper lawnmower round this morning and did the lawn for me while I was over at DS1's getting my phone sorted. So now I'm reconnected to the world, and have a neat lawn!! Happy days.
Oh Plant, you do sound fed up, but no wonder if you are in pain. Sending gentle hugs.
Enfys, it does take time to get over a fall, and yours sounded quite heavy. Take care and rest as much as you need to. Would you feel safer using a stick for a few days until you felt a bit better? Just thinking better to take extra care and not risk feeling a bit wobbly. xxx
Oma, what a nuisance about the tooth. It's surprising what dentists can do these days, so hopefully it can be saved. You can get temporary fixing kits from Boots for about £6, if that's any help in protecting what is left of the tooth.
I like shepherd pie as well, but I feel under pressure to do something 'different' because both sets of friends always push the boat out with something really delicious and different. I thought about salmon but one friend did an amazing salmon meal last time we were there, and I know when I'm outclassed and outcooked!

Well today has been not what I was expecting.
As I said we are having the downstairs loo done , I bought the new vanity unit and hand basin this weekend,
This morning B decided to save our SIL some time to take the old unit and sink out.
put safety goggles and overalls on and set too.
Firstly took the unit out and in the process knocked the pipe and burst it.
So all my tea towels were used after we turned the stop cock off to soak up the fountain of water.
Repaired that and I cleaned up.
He then couldn’t get the basin off the wall and couldn’t remember what he used to fix it on with,
So in his wisdom he decided to take a hammer to it.
This is when it all went wrong, hit it and it shattered and a large slice shot off and sliced his hand open.
It went right between his first two fingers
Never seen so much blood it was gushing , apparently there are arteries in between your fingers ,
DD in Lemmington Spa, GS in Leeds , SIL 80 miles away on a job ,
Rang around the neighbours and no one in.
spent ages trying to stem the flow putting pressure on it nothing worked
so finally had a roll of finger bandage pressed on it and a clean t towel wrapped around it and off in a Taxi to Hospital.
We had the dog so I couldn’t go.
They seen him straight away as by then he was dripping with blood .
Put a pressure bandage on for two hours but it started again when they took it off.
Eventually it stopped enough for them to treat it but where it was they couldn’t stitch it.
so it’s packed up and fingers strapped together.
If it’s still bleeding in the morning he has to go back .
He put goggles on his thick overalls but no gloves thinking it would come off easily.
This was just after 10 and he has just came home.
We won’t be visiting MIL tonight so his sister is going in.
Not the day we planned 🙄

Oh no Oma, how stressful. Poor B
He should be banned from DIY for his safety and your sanity!
Plant, hopefully a few days free of hospital trips will set you back on track. Tomorrow is indeed another day xx
Enfys, it's such a shame this happened on your holiday. I hope you soon feel more human.
DD had an urgent optician visit this afternoon due to the sudden appearance of a large number of 'floaters', something she had been told to look out for. They seem pretty sure it's OK but referred her to the hospital to be on the safe side.
GS3 and I had a lovely afternoon watching The Gruffalo and Bing and playing with his play kitchen. DD phoned when she was done and we picked her up in the car. GS was quite poorly with a cold over the weekend but seems much better today.
I'm home now and it's my turn to cook so I will get on now. Chicken stir fry, so fairly quick and easy“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Welcome back Daisy.
Glad your phone is sorted. i thought about a beef/chicken casserole for your meal. It wouldn't take much looking after.
Oh Plant, i really wish you could turn a corner and start to feel better.
Oma, sorry to hear about B's accident. Hope he is ok.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

He is Nanto thank you although painful , The bleeding seems to have stopped for now.
I must admit I’ve never seen so much blood it was all over the kitchen cupboard doors all over the kick boards where it had dripped and splashed , door handles and door from the loo through the utility into the kitchen .
I had to wash everything and the floors .
Poor dog his eyes were like saucers ,
He could sense something was wrong and became quite upset.
Best part was the hospital asked if he wanted the blood soaked T towel back 😁Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good morning ladies.
Dull here, and the heating is on! Dry though which OH is pleased about as it is golf again.
Oma, how is B's hand this morning?
Plant, I hope you are in less pain today.
Library morning, nothing else in the diary apart from GS1. It should be after school but I don't think he went this morning so he will be here for the afternoon.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Oma, I hope there was no more bleeding from B’s hand overnight. Keep him away from sledgehammers. I hope Mil is still progressing
Nanto, you are an early bird, you will meet yourself coming back, as they say.
Gemini, I hope you are in less pain today. Don’t overdo your time in the Library.
Enfys, I hope you are enjoying your holiday in spite of your nasty fall. I hope you feel better soon. We shall have to try and stay on our feet, no falls.
Daisy, how about Salmon en croute for your meal with friends?
I decided to stay in bed until the painkillers kicked in today, no rushing off to the hospital this morning. I would like to go to Board Games tomorrow, so plan a quiet day today. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. It's dry but cloudy - not great, but definitely an improvement on the recent rain.
Oma, poor B. That injury sounds horrendous, and I can imagine the horror of blood everywhere. I'm sure you're keeping a close eye on him today. It's a good job you were in the house when it happened. The trouble is these things happen so quickly but take ages to heal up. I hope he makes a speedy recovery - but no more smashing the house up with a hammer!
Plant, you are having a tough time at the moment, so very wise to rest until the pain killers work. Have they decided what's causing the pain (sorry if you've said earlier - I haven't caught up yet). Save your energy so you can go out for something enjoyable tomorrow. xx
Enfys, how are you feeling today? I hope you're able to enjoy your holiday.
Gem, that must have been scary for your DD. Thank goodness she was seen straight away and fingers crossed all if ok. It will be a another busy day for you with Library then GS1 fr the afternoon.
Nanto, you're very organised with your cooking. I hope you get a chance to put your feet up later.
Thank you all for your meal suggestions. I find it really hard to decide what to cook when we have visitors, and I often end up running myself ragged trying to do too many things that need last minute attention. However, I hardly use my air fryer and knowing how much people like Nanto use theirs, I've decided to give that a go. DS2 sent me a link to a YouTube channel with some really easy air fryer suggestions that look a bit different from my usual cooking and I'm going to do chicken breasts, stuffed and rolled in bacon. So I can prepare them in the morning and put them in the fridge until I need to cook them. They sound easy, so what could possibly go wrong!!!

Good morning. Much the same here, weather ok but I’m not up to going out and about. My hip is very sore and I still feel very shaky. The family have gone to a beach not too far away. It there is not way I could go so I am here with plenty of supplies to hand, my books and knitting taking it easy. I have managed to walk round the garden but that’s it. I don’t think they really understand how this has affected me, so I’m not rushing things.
Plant, hope you feel better soon. It doesn’t take much to knock us for six does it.
Oma, hope B is doing ok now. What a performance.
